Dior Addict Ultra Gloss: Outrageous Fuchsia (686), Apricot Cloche (436), Sari Pink (576)

Dior Addict Ultra Gloss ($26.50 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a new lip gloss released by Dior this spring/summer. It’s supposed to be a lightweight, ultra shimmering, moisturizing formula with a brush applicator. They are supposed to deliver a “sheer wash of catwalk color”–so keep in mind, these are supposed to be sheer.  I had a few readers ask me my thoughts on these, so I figured I’d pick up three shades during Sephora’s V.I.B. sale!

Available shades include: Twin Set Pink (157) (light peachy pink shimmer), Beige Tweed (227) (pinky beige shimmer), Satin Peach (236) (sheer golden peach), Negligee Pink (256) (sheer neutral pink), Pink Trench (257) (pale pink shimmer), Apricot Cloche (436) (light golden apricot shimmer), Sari Pink (576) (vibrant rosy pink), Outrageous Fuchsia (686) (soft fuchsia with micro glitter), Evening Rose (756), Little Red Dress (856) (true red with m icro glitter), Mauve Accent (886) (tvibrant lilac with micro glitter), and Black-Tie Plum (982) (deep burgundy plum).

I tried three shades…

  • Outrageous Fuchsia (686) is a muted darkened fuchsia pink with brighter fuchsia and purple sparkle.
  • Apricot Cloche (436) is sheer peach base with brighter peach-gold shimmer. It adds a little darkness to my lips, turning them an almost coral-pink. This was the most pigmented shade of the three I tried, but I found this one looked a little splotchy up-close.
  • Sari Pink (576) is a sheer slightly blue-based pink base with fuchsia and pink shimmer. Still a sheer shade, but it does punch up my natural lip color to a faded watermelon pink.

The strength of Ultra Gloss lies in its formula–I really think it’s the feel and look of the product that makes this gloss worth checking out. It is a moisturizing lipgloss with a very smooth, slick feel–it’s very comfortable to wear–with a shimmering sparkle that’s noticeable without being overwhelming. It’s completely non-sticky and has no scent or taste. All these characteristics leads me to think that a lot of lipgloss fans will enjoy them.

I did find that these only lasted just under two hours on me, and then all that remained was the shimmer/micro glitter, and I’d say this was the only downside I could find about this gloss. The packaging is true-to-form for Dior; a square lipgloss that’s sturdy and lightweight. I also really like how much you get in each tube–a whopping 0.21 fl. oz.–$126/oz. vs. $109/oz. for a MAC Lipglass.

They’re not my personal favorite lipgloss, as I do tend to prefer products with a little more pigmentation, but these really do feel amazing on! They’re supposed to be sheer, though! I will say that I do wish these lasted a little longer on the lips as most of it has disappeared by the time I’ve gotten to hour two.

Recommendation: If love sheer, non-sticky lipgloss, Dior Ultra Gloss is exactly that. And if you don’t mind reapplying every two hours or so, I think you’d really like these.

Wow. I love that apricot colour. It looks amazing with your skintone. Also, I don’t think I’ve said this before but I really love the new style of lip swatch pictures. :-)

  2. Natalie says:

Thanks Christine! I just feel these look gorgeous on top of lipstick or liner. I went and bought #557 today – creamy pink with blue pearls! The most gorgeous shade ever.

  3. Andrea says:

On seeing the lip swatches, they’re not as sheer as I thought they would be from what you’d written. All three shades look absolutely gorgeous on you! They all really suit you.

  4. Elysia says:

Neither brand nor price matters, where can I find a more opaque version of sari pink? I have been looking for a pink that color and can’t find one!

  5. Anitacska says:

They are very pretty! I don’t own any Dior lipglosses, but I do have these colours from Guerlain already, so will probably skip these. Otherwise I would seriously consider them. :)

  6. LesleyKat says:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the dior addict glosses. they are great! apricot cloche looks gorge!

  7. They have more color than those Chanel lipglosses for Summer 2010. :D

  8. Roya says:

I have been a fan for a long time, and this colours are mad.

  9. min says:

Love the apricot one! I find dior gloss to leave the microglitter behind as well! I don’t mind reapplying and I do like the subtle colour it leaves behind.

  10. daphne says:

The apricot color looks great on your lips. Reminds me of Nymphette and those other similar glosses you love so much. But if I’m paying over $20 for a gloss, I’m going for a pigmented one, myself.

  11. Jennifer says:

I am a DIOR ADDICT. And I love their products… The fuchsia one looks divine.
However I would say a dazzleglass is similar to their Dior Kiss glosses, in terms of dazzle lol.

I am more of a lipstick girl, and I just think their rouge lipsticks are amazing! Too bad they don’t have a fuchsia one or I would be one hop skip and a jump over to my dior counter like now! I use to wear “Sumptous Fuchsia” then they changed it to “Pink Legend” then a slightly brighter lighter version to “Star Fuchsia.” Yes, Sumptous Fuchsia was from their old more three d packaging and I just bought one on ebay.

  12. Ana says:

omg! the weirdest thing is that i just bought apricot cloche today! just came back from the mall and i saw this post and i nearly fainted!
the colors are gorge, but my fave is deffo apricot cloche!

  13. Aimee says:

I LOVE this one.. I think you may have just ended up trying out the ones with no pigmentation because I was at my Dior counter and saw the “Little Red Dress” shade and my eyes just zoomed right in on it. It’s suuuper pigmented and I HAD to buy it to review on my blog. It’s pretty amazing. I love the shine and glitter! It is just right.

    • Christine says:

They’re actually supposed to be sheer glosses :) Have you tried others besides Little Red Dress? I bought three to test them overall, since sometimes one shade might be a miss or off!

  14. Nicole says:

I am by no means a lip gloss expert, but I just LOVE the texture of these glosses! I got #257 – Pink Trench, and it’s so smooth and silky. No stickiness at all! I have been unimpressed with a lot of lip glosses lately, but Dior – I am sold!

  15. Eileen says:

I have the new glosses in Negilee Pink and Twin Set Pink and absolutely love them. They are moisturizing, soothing, and conditioning. When wearing them, my lips look fuller and softer. After wearing them for a few days, my lips were actually in better condition. Unfortunately, they don’t last very long. In that respect they are like Dior’s “Serum” lipstick. The price for beautiful, soft lips is frequent reapplication.

    • Christine says:

Yeah, I just wish they’d last a bit longer! Do you find that the dry down is a bit weird? Like gritty but not terribly so?

      • Aimee says:

Yeah! I have one of the milky white-pink shades and it barely shows up. The tester for Little Red Dress was super pigmented too and I hadn’t seen the press release for them before happening to run into them at a counter and buying so I was super surprised the rest of them are so sheer. :(

  16. Rachael says:

These kind of remind me of Dazzleglasses. I love Dior lip products, so pretty!

  17. tropicalia7 says:

Omg, I ordered the exact same 3 colors during Sephora sale. lol…Well, for me, it’s pretty pigmented enough, since I have pigmented lips. You always look good in every lip colors, the true colors pop out. Unlike me, I have to conceal my lips and always go for nude peach look. These are great gloss. I’m not a fan of MAC overall due to quality. I like Dior, Bare escentuals and Nars lip glosses.

  18. Sari says:

    Sari Pink ! :D

  19. Kathryn says:

I bought a gloss from the Dior Ultra Gloss Reflect line called Jersey Pink and it was such a nice colour, but the gloss wore off after an hour and I was left with garish white/gold frosted lips and even though I scrubbed and scrubbed I could not remove all the glitter. I really want to try these but I am afraid the same thing is going to happen.

  20. Maryam says:

I think it was a GENIUS move from you to have the new style of lip swatches photos. Love them all!

  21. adelinky says:

    #436 is my favorite!
Sometimes your pictures only download half way for me, that happened a while ago and it stopped now they are doing it again! That’s strange, I wonder why?

  22. Christian says:

The new Dior Addict Ultra Gloss glosses actually come in 3 different formulas.
    Glow, Pearl, and Flash.
Glow is a semi-opaque nude gloss.
Pearl is a sheer and delicate, and looks like liquid candy. Apricot Cloche and Sari Pink are both Pearl.
Flash glosses create a spotlight effect on the lips from afar and wear like a faux-stain. Outrageous Pink is a Flash.

  23. Haylie says:

Which one do you think suits NC20 skintone better: Negilee Pink or Apricot Cloche?
I’m asian if that helps. :P

  24. Marina says:

LOVE IT! I tried this gloss on in Sephora the other day and it felt amazing!
