China Glaze Meteor Shower Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

China Glaze Meteor Shower Nail Lacquer ($3.20 to $7.00) is a rich, dark navy blue with multi-colored square glitter with predominantly cobalt blue sparkle. Meteor Shower is part of China Glaze’s fifty new glitter polishes, along with Atlantis, which I reviewed earlier this week.
While Atlantis applied with a more semi-opaque jelly base, Meteor Shower applies opaque in two coats and looks fairly dark on the nail. Some of the glitter seemed to submerge within the color base, but I still had a good amount show through, so it wasn’t a big deal. I found application and quality to mirror what I’ve come to expect from China Glaze (excellent and excellent), so it’s really a matter of whether this is a shade that calls to you or not! For me, it’s not my favorite shade yet… I am bound to find at least one (or ten) that are much more my style within the fifty, though! If you have any recommendations from the new line-up, I’d love to hear ‘em!
What say you? Is Meteor Shower your new best friend?

Are you gonna get it, Samantha?
Saturday, November 14, 2009
I like it, but I may stay strong and leave it. Besides I’ve got a big China Glaze haul coming in the mail soon!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Ohh!! Whatdja get? I just got the Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection!

Can you get china glaze in canada anywhere? Also if theres no stores, where should I order online from?
Saturday, November 14, 2009
I know transdesign.com ships internationally!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Sally’s beauty has some – mine usually has a fairly limited supply tho and they can be more expensive. I use transdesign – their prices & shipping are great!

I’m not sure where in Canada you live, but I get my China Glaze (and OPI) polishes at Chatters. It’s like a salon and supply store. I think that they also might sell it at SOME drug stores? But I’m very much unsure about that. I do know that they sell their polishes in select salons, so perhaps do some browsing at your local salons to see if they carry any China Glaze!

I have this, and it applies opaque in even 1 coat! Maybe I just apply a very thick layer lol!
Love it, very gorgeous.
Saturday, November 14, 2009
LOL! I always do two coats, but I think I remember it being pretty opaque in one, though, as well :)
Saturday, November 14, 2009
love the name and colour, dont know where they sell china glaze though
Saturday, November 14, 2009
I tend to get mine online, but I know Sally’s have them, too.

I find that Meteor Shower looks so much prettier when you apply to coats of a dark blue cream nail polish and then one coat of Meteor Shower. Right now I am wearing 2 coats of Zoya Indigo and one coat of Meteor Shower. As for recs from the line of 50, I think you should try Ginger! It’s pretty and really unique.
Also, the Wizard of Ooh Ahz is already out?!?!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Thanks for the heads up, Keke! I might have to try that, along with Ginger!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Wow that looks like a nail polish that I would love to wear! I hope it shows up at Sally’s!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
I hope you can track it down Liz!

It’s lovely, but it looks to be a bit chunky. Almost like sewing sequence onto your nails. I prefer a smoother look for the sparkly bits in my polish.
Saturday, November 14, 2009
It is a chunky polish, but I find most glitter polishes to feel that way!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
I love your photo taking abilities! Please review more polishes in the future.
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Thanks, Patty! I’ll try!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Ohhh I like the big chunks of glitter in polishes this season.
Saturday, November 14, 2009
I love how you love them but someone else is not feeling them! Just goes to show how different we all are :)
Saturday, November 14, 2009
oh man, looks like i have to get this one.
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Wooo!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
OMG that looks amazing!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Amazing enough to get?!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
not bad but the glitter looks really gritty and hard to get off.
Saturday, November 14, 2009
I think it took me about two minutes to remove glitter polish off ten fingernails, so it wasn’t a huge deal, IMO!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
You know, I’m not a really big fan of glitter, but I like this polish! It looks like something I’d wear going out to a fancy restaurant paired with a few funky accessories.
Hey Christine, do you think you could take one or two pictures from further away wearing the polish? I find that nail polishes can look much different from up close as they do from far away, so I’d like to see if it still looks nice from far away.
Saturday, November 14, 2009
How funny!
I’ll try, thanks, Ashley!

I haven’t tested the Wizard of Ooh Ahz set yet, but can I just say, why is there no Emerald City green?!
Saturday, November 14, 2009
Great color! I have something similar from Sally Hansen though without the glitter.
Sunday, November 15, 2009
What shade is that, Christy?
Sunday, November 15, 2009
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Dark Royal Blue. It’s pretty close in color minus the glitter. There are so many glitter top coats available. So I’d pair the one I have with a chunky glitter for something close.
Monday, November 16, 2009
Ohh, sounds so lovely!!
Sunday, November 15, 2009
Oooo I love navy nail polish colors!
Monday, November 16, 2009
What’s your favorite navy shade, Bridgette?
Monday, November 16, 2009
Thats stunning!!!! After your review of Atlantis, I went ordered a bunch of them. (They came super fast because I live in the same state as head2toebeauty) I brought this one to, I haven’t tried this on yet but its looks so stunning on the nail.
Monday, November 16, 2009
Nice! Which ones did you order, Jazzy?
Tuesday, November 17, 2009
I ordered solar flare, Glam, snow globe, nova, and of course meteor shower. Meteor shower seems to be the one I got I can wear alone, the rest I may wear over a black nail polish or different color because they have clear bases. solar flare has really big pieces of glitter, really shows up on the nail. I could probably put that over a few different color nail polishes. :D
Tuesday, November 17, 2009
Nice, nice! I just got Solar Flare, so I’m excited to try it out now!
Tuesday, November 17, 2009
Oh soo beautiful! Have you bought items from head2ToeBeauty.com…the prices are amazing but i feel its too good to be true…just curious before i splurge..
Tuesday, November 17, 2009
Hey Brittney,
I have! I prefer 8ty8beauty.com myself (slightly cheaper shipping and a bit faster to get to me in California), but I’ve bought once or twice from Head2Toe!
Tuesday, November 17, 2009
Awesome! Thanks! :)
