Chanel Spring 2012: Chanel June Le Vernis

Chanel June Le Vernis ($25.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “pastel apricot.” This is a limited edition shade (whereas the other two spring lacquers were not listed as limited). It’s a creamy, lightened orange that’s opaque in two coats. It reminded me of a Creamsicle. China Glaze Peachykeen was the closest dupe I could think of, but it reads less orange. China Glaze Papaya Punch is much, much more intense, brighter, and deeper, but continues in a similar vein.

The formula on this one is good; pigmented enough to deliver opaque color coverage in two coats. It’s not too thick or thin, so it covers the nail evenly without pooling or bubbling. The drying time seemed average (unlike May), which is always nice. I usually get a week of wear with minor tip wear but no chips with Chanel’s formula.

The Glossover

The three spring lacquers from Chanel have been really nice, and June is no exception. The formula seems to be at its best with these three--smooth, even, pigmented, fluid.

Woa! This is really pretty and I own nothing like it. Writing this down so I remember…

  2. I also think Creamsicle when I look at this. Great, now I want a Creamsicle. 😛

  3. Nily

This colour looks nice on your nails… but I still prefer Chanel April! 😛 (from this collection).
Now I can’t wait to see them, all three!!!! ^__^

  4. Laura

Ugh, I wish it were summer right now

  5. Angie

it reminds me of peach yogurt :)

  6. Marta

:O Amazed by the prettiness! Is it me, or usually the best things are LE? Can’t even find the dupe as they don’t sell China Glaze in Spain and am currently on an Ebay strict diet :(
Oh well thanks to you at least I get to look at very good swatches, thanks! :)

  7. Vick

this is beautiful! I vowed never to spend more than $12 on a polish but…I have nothing like this in my collection!

  8. I’m not sure how this will look on my skin (pinky), but it seems so pretty and it definitely looks to be the most original of the three Spring shades. I might have to take a chance on it…

  9. puffnstuff

i just bought this yesterday…it looks so fresh and lovely! 😀 oh i had a question…by any chance is the comments on the mobile site ever going to work again? thanks!

  10. This shade reminds me of an old bridesmaid dress my mom had! It feels very spring-y to me, I would definitely wear this, especially since June is my birth month!

  11. Eva

Oh wow! I didn’t think this color would look nice when I first saw it in the bottle in person. But It actually looks quite lovely on the nails!

  12. Iris

Aaahh~ I’ve been obsessed with this one for a long time since I happen to have a jelly sandal of this color. I can’t wait for summer to come again. Thank you for the great swatch :)

  13. AlexisV.

I am sooo buying this this weekend. Splurge!!!!

  14. baby in a corner

I think this will clash with a lot of skintones – thumbs down from me!! 😉

  15. buena mara

Looks just right for June…mango sorbet?

  16. Mairyn

    ME WANT!
I’m actually close to panting right now. I love these sorts of shades!

  17. I already have this shade. I found this the cutest among the other shades :)

  18. Cho Hee

no way! i ordered this on and tried it on for a week but i didn’t like it at all so i ended up returning it..but it looks so nice on your nails! :(

  19. OH MAN. I really want this -le sigh- I may have to cave and buy my first Chanel polish. It’s gorgeousss and I’m such a sucker for peach.

  20. Catherine

OMG WANT. Mostly because June is my middle name, but still, it’s so pretty! I may have to save up and get a bottle.

  21. This is a quite unusual shade, but I don’t think I could wear it. It seems too light for my fair skin.

  22. Vev

This will look amazing on us olive and darker skin tones! I’ll pick it up soon.

  23. i love all three of the new chanel polishes, i just wish they were less expensive.

  24. marian

would you know when this is being released in the UK?

  25. Chris Styles

Nice color but there is nothing so unique about it that would make me wanna spend $25 on it. I purchased Peridot a few months ago because the color was so beautiful and unique that it was definitely worth the investment.

  26. Hend

Such a beautiful colour ! but I can’t see it going well with my skin tone ,
    :( a skip for me

  27. Joanna Shen

this is really pretty~~~ but i think it’s too expensive for me…i usually do not spend over 15 dollars for a nail polish…sigh

    • Joanna Shen

by the way~~~ I went to macy’s and saw this in person~ and……I bought it hahahahha (This is probably my biggest nail polish splurge)

I always buy more things if they are limited edition (I’m afraid that they are going to run out if I don’t buy them right away)
I like the other two polishes too but since they are not limited edition I feel like I can wait a little bit.

  28. MissMercurial

Looks kinda like a muted/paler version of Zoya Jancyn, IMO. Conveniently, I just got a bottle of that, haha, so my “summery oranges” itch is scratched already :)

That price, especially – oy vey, does that hurt me. I passed on Peridot even though it’s my birthstone and despite the multichrome awesomeness simply because of that little stickler point.

  29. sadly, the price of all Chanel polishes went up on Nordstrom to $26, i don’t know if it’s the same elsewhere, but it was a little annoying when a week ago it was $25…

  30. The colour looks gorgeous on your nails. It looks like the perfect peach shade to match my new similarly coloured jumper. I’m a great fan of Chanel polishes.

  31. Sarah

I found an amazing dupe!! In Essence’s new line ‘marble madness’ called peaches! And all for 1,79 euros!

  32. lulu

    hi chiristine!

is this a jelly or a creme? looks like both to me! 😛
