Burberry Does Gloss Well, But…
Burberry Cameo (08) Lipgloss ($27.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a beautiful shade of peachy-melon with soft golden shimmer and a nice level of glossy sheen. It’s semi-opaque, so it delivers a healthy dosage of color to lips, but it doesn’t cover or mask your natural lip color. Those with redder lips may find that this turns their lips a rather pretty shade of coral, because that natural redness will peek through but be lightened up by the gloss’ coloring.
Burberry’s gloss is non-sticky, not too thin or thick, and feels rather comfortable on lips. It’s not drying, and it lasts three to four hours on me (on the longer end of gloss for me). It does have Burberry’s floral scent, though I did not notice it lingering while I wore it, but if you tend to be sensitive to scents, particularly rose or floral ones, this might not be something to pick up scent-un-sniffed.
The packaging is right in line with the brand’s makeup range; the gunmetal, checked cap with a clear tube (so you can see the gloss color). Burberry didn’t skimp on the product with 0.20 fl. oz., which is about average for designer brands or above average for high-end brands.

RECOMMENDATION: For a non-sticky gloss with medium color coverage, staying power, and a sophisticated shimmer, Burberry’s lipglosses nails all three.

That color is awesome! It's exactly what I've been looking for. I've been trying for a while to find that milky coral/peach-pink/melon color that doesn't end up too pink. Though I guess my search is still on since I don't think I would be able to afford this..hahah. But your photos are great reference for me. Thank you.
Christine, are there any MAC dupes for this color and pigmentation (payoff)? This is such a beautiful color and is exactly what I've been looking for! Thanks
I can't think of any MAC dupes. The closest you'd get would be combining Melon pigment + clear gloss. NP Set Mauritius is similar.
Yay I've been totally waiting for swatches of the Burberry lip gloss in Cameo! Everyone seemed interested in the lipsticks and foundation but news on the lip gloss was kind of slow. So pretty and coral! Looks like I'll be stopping by Nordstrom sooon ;)
This is a gorgeous shade! BTW, I LOVE your blog; it's the best! Thank you for putting so much time into it. I gotta ask, how do you get the edges of your lipstick so perfect?
Thanks, Kristel! I usually just make sure I'm really close to the mirror so I can make sure it's very even, lol.
LOL Do you apply it straight out of the tube or do you use a brush (and which one do you recommend)?
I usually use a disposable lipgloss applicator (it's recyclable!), which is basically a doe-foot applicator!
This is beauuutiful! When, oh when is Burberry going to come to more locations? All these lovely items are driving me crazy, but I just can't bring myself to buy a new brand online.
This reminds me of a YSL gloss shade that I have been lemming. The annoying thing is the cantaloupe shade is so pretty in the tube but doesn't show up at all on my lips. This Burberry version might be more pigmented and could actually show up on medium pigmented lips?
Just my .02 on this, but I also have medium pigmented lips and have struggled to find a peachy-coral-melon lipgloss that shows up and isn't sticky. This is it!!! I have bought quite a few things from this line, and this might be my fave item. Oh, or maybe the Face Brush or Liquid Foundation. But this is my favorite colored product for sure.
Have you tried the Revlon Lustrous Lipglosses, those are not sticky at all and have no scent, theyre great and affordable and have great pigmentation!
That's very pretty. I only have one gloss, "Heather Rose" which I guess is like a neutral brown plum? I'll have to check the online description of it. But I was very surprised on how well this lays on my lips. It's very moisturizing and does not make my lips feel raw by the end of the day. I'll have to go back for more colors!
I have the same one and love the color. These glosses are so moisturizing! They compete w/glossimers imo...
this color is absolutely gorgeous! i never get tired of soft coral lip colors. i'll have to check out the scent before i pick one up, but thanks for the swatches and review.
