Bronzy Neutrals: MAC Colour 4 Eyeshadow Quad Look
This was a quickie look before I went to school last night! I even timed myself and managed to get it all done in fifteen minutes and *not* leave late for class, LOL! You know I had to dive into the Colour 4 eyeshadow quad, just ’cause is totally my style. Really love the colors and the textures–Manila Paper is the only one that doesn’t totally suit me; it’s a bit stark on my brow bone, because of my skin tone (would be lovely on someone lighter), but I imagine it’ll be very nice as a lid color even if I can’t use it as a brow color so much! You could also do a much darker or more coppery/coral lip with this look. I had an itch to use Victorian, one way or another, and thus I went a little lighter!
Happy Thursday! It’s almost the weekend–we’re almost there!
Though since mine involves major, major studying for midterms, I’m not keen on its arrival!
You will need the following…
- Eyes: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (neutral beige base), MAC Flip Eyeshadow (peachy gold), MAC Aztec Brick Eyeshadow (copper), MAC Creole Beauty Eyeshadow (soft bronze), MAC Manila Paper Eyeshadow (shimmery white-gold), Urban Decay Lucky 24/7 Liner (copper), MAC Plushlash Mascara (black)
- Face: Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer (Medium)
- Cheeks: MAC Ripe Peach Blush Ombre (peachy pink)
- Lips: MAC Victorian Lipstick (bubblegum pink with gold sheen), MAC Ember Glow Lipglass (creamy orange-peach)
- Brushes: 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: N/A
For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Flip eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Aztec Brick eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Creole Beauty eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Creole Beauty eyeshadow, with the 239, on the outer corner and lid. Lightly tap and brush Flip eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Manila Paper eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Lucky eyeliner on the lower lash line and sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.
For cheeks, apply Ripe Peach blush ombre to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Victorian lipstick first, and then layer Ember Glow lipglass for a complementing lip.

Wow, that eyelook is gorgeous! I wasn't planning on getting the Neutrals quad, but now I am very tempted. The peach blush ombre looks so much better on than I expected. I suspect it won't go with my colouring (my skin has cool pink undertones... and overtones), but I'm going to at least give it a try now.
You are making me want ripe peach blush..I made a pledge not to buy a blush until I hit a pan amongst my 20 something blushes!!! I am NC 42 I hope it will show as nice on me!!!
Love this look, i think it would work really well on blue/green eyes too which i have! Gona have to buy some of those items!
This look is simply stunning! I'm so glad you do eyeshadow tutorials! As much as I love makeup, I never wear eyeshadow! I don't know how to put it on! I know, that's a crime! Haha! Everytime I put eyeshadow on, I look like I was punched in the eye! My eyes are so deep set and I have little space between my lid and eyebrow! Thanx Christine!!!
Hi Christine, I love the lip combo, do you think if the lipstick is replaced with creme cup or snob the result will be the same? thanks!!
It would be similar! I don't think it'd be exactly the same, because neither Creme Cup or Snob have the shimmer behind it, so you might try maybe a more shimmery nude gloss on top!
Oh wow this look is gorgeous. I love that blush, but don't think I'll be getting that or this quad. There's too much to choose from! I am getting Victorian. Do you think Queen Bee lipglass with it would create at least close to the same look as this lip combo? Or mayyybe even Love Nectar? I hope so, otherwise you make me want the pretty Ember Glow, too! :) Thank you Christine :)
I love the look. I ordered this quad and the blush looks really good on you. I have Nars Taj Mahal, how does this compare?
YAY! I couldn't wait to see you do a look with the gold quad! I know it's your fav colors and we always do our best work when we're working with something we love! :D Looks beautiful on you!
I just love your pics! The ripe peach looks great on you. So glad I ordered it. I was going to pass on this quad, but after seeing your photos I think I have to have it! Guess here goes order #2!
This neutral look is really pretty on you Christine. This quad is a must have for me, along with that purple quad and the purple lipglass in lavender wind.
those colors look gorgeous on you! i wish i could wear coppery/bronzy colors but im so fair skinned i think it makes it look too orangey and weird. even when i use woodwinked..... which bums me out because those eyeshadows are so pretty. =\
Wow what gorgeous colors! This quad would make blue eyes really pop, and seeing as how I don't have any Mac quads OR warm colors, I might have to get it!
Christine, you look beautiful! I like the shadows and eyeliner match purrfectly. Ripe Peach was not on my list b/c I thought it was too orange-y, but you look very natural. I am NC30, so I might consider getting it...
hey christine! kudos on all the great stuff you do. i have a quick query; which product would you suggest for a dewy finish. kiehls tinted moisturizer or bobbi brown EXTRA tinted moisturizer. oh and in the photos where your wearing BB, have you used anything else? THANKS
Thank you, Ino! Bobbi Brown EXTRA definitely has a MUCH dewier finish. Nope, just BB and some setting powder (translucent - Laura Mercier).
Hi Christine! I love your makeup....it's really beautiful, bronzy brown shades but also some similar coral colors. :)
