Benefit Hervana Boxed Powder
Benefit Hervana Boxed Powder
Debuting in January, Benefit Hervana Boxed Powder ($28.00 for 0.28 oz.) is described as a “soft orchid-blossom flush.” It’s made of four individual shades in a pinwheel design, though as far as a blusher goes, you really couldn’t use these shades individually as each shade is fairly small. With a small blush brush, you might be able to use two or three shades in concentration, but I recommend swirling and sweeping all the shades taken together.
Lucky Shell is a soft, pale beige with a satiny shimmer. Divine Peach is a warm apricot-peach with soft golden shimmer. Heavenly Rose is a soft rosy peach with a satiny sheen. Berry Delight is a blue-based ppinky-plum with a satiny sheen. Together, they create a soft, warm pink with subtle peach undertones and a satiny shimmer-sheen. It’s not frosty or over-the-top, so the shimmer adds a distinct glow to the skin and doesn’t emphasize pores. The pigmentation here doesn’t impart loads of color–it’s a soft flush, which seems to be the theme of this particular powder. It has a really soft, smooth texture that sits well on the skin. It wore well for seven hours and looked a little faded around the edges after eight hours.
Chanel Pink Cloud is lighter, while MAC Stunner is more intense. Benefit Bella Bamba is much, much darker and has no peachiness. Burberry Peony is very similar but has more of a matte finish. It also reminded me of MAC Oh So Fair, though that has much more frost in its finish. Benefit Sugarbomb is much more golden with a golden sheen and less pink.
It’s not too warm for cooler complexions to wear it, and I actually think it’s one of those shades that will lean a little cooler/warmer depending on the underlying skintone. For instance, my natural yellowy undertones pull out the peachiness in the product, while someone with pinker undertones may find it turns pinker on them. When I applied it to my cheeks, it also appeared peachier because of the coral lip and olive green eyeshadows I paired it with.
Where to Buy: January 2012 at Benefit, $28
The Glossover
For a soft glowy flush, Benefit Hervana accoplishes just that; you won't find lots of color punch here but a wearable, everyday kind of blush that goes with everything.

I need this in my life, yup! I wasn't too into it right away because I own two Benefit boxed powders (Dandelion & Georgia), and neither show up on me well enough. This one looks like it'd be like a nice, soft, girly pink sheen, though! Do you find Sugarbomb to be more peach on you, btw?
I saw this on the benefit website when they had a flash sale, and I died. Then I swatched it in store, and I died again. I need this, although my wallet doesn't... it looks so pretty and natural, could compliment so many skintones. love it!
I saw this at Sephora 2 days ago while testing Dandelion out. This is going to be mt 1st Benefit blush. I'm getting it next trip. (had to splurge on the 2 new Mac collections 1st). I'm a nw20 and it was a gorgeous mauvey color on me. I've never been tempted by their blushes but this is so pretty. I'm a product of the 80's and am overcoming my too bright of blush habit. It would be hard to go heavy handed with this so I don't need to worry about using too much color. :)
WOW !! This is a "my cheeks but better" natural blush ! I get very pale during winter and it's perfect on my complexion ! I wonder what it will look like in my summer intense tanned skin color ! Worth it, even if I don't get why the crazy markup price in Canada, 36$ compared to 28 ?!! I'm not one to complain about prices, but come on !
Love this look on you, you look gorgeous! I now want to buy both Hervana AND the Clarins lipstick :P
I really appreciate the photos you take and enjoy all your great looks. You are so creative and very pretty!
Wow. I just got Hervana in the mail today (and I live on the west coast - go sephora!) and I think it might just be my HG powder blush. It is gorgeous and pretty much exactly mimics my natural flush.
I love the package it's so cute! And the colors are fabulous!! I wish i could get this right now.. Does this blush has pearl??
Is the colour similar to thrrrob? Because I hate that thrrrob is being discontinued, but this looks like a great alternative! :)
Looks amazing on you! I feel like the color wouldn't show up on my darker skin tone, though...but the peach really catches m attention. I love peaches! (:
This is the first time in a long time I've been really really excited for a product! You mentioned it's similar to Oh So Fair, which looks really pretty on me... but it sadly LE. So yay!
Do you think Benefit be releasing all of their new boxed powders in the hinged case like that? The only other time I've seen that is with a smaller-sized Dandelion. Didn't even notice the mirror until I looked at the photos again, that's kind of cute.
So pretty! I can't wait for this to come out! One question (sorry if this was mentioned already but didn't see it anywhere) Is this scented like the other boxed powders and if so what kind of scent? Thanks!
This looks amazing! I've been contemplating buying Sugarbomb for a long time now, but have held off and am now considering just waiting for this. Do you have any opinions on which is better or are these two different enough to justify having both?
If you're really pale, you could use both - if you are more medium, you could just get one. Sugarbomb is more of a highlighter, while Hervana gave me some color and has less shimmer (but still some) compared to Sugarbomb. Hervana is also cooler-toned!
waaaant. i've always skipped out on the boxed powders because i find they have too much shine, but this one looks to be everything that i look for in a blush! it looks lovely on you, by the way!
