Hi there! I use a MAC Kabuki brush that I got last year in the Christmas goodies set, I like that shot of color it delivers right on my apples!

kasiaj85 Avatar

I just love my 116 brush, it applies just the exact amount of blush on the cheeks, sometimes I just have to tap off the excess before aplying! The cheeks don’t look overdone, just perfect. And I find it excellent even for the mineralize blushes!

Christy Ordonez Avatar

I have the Billy B master brush collection for that. Not because it’s my favourite, but these were so expensive I cannot justify buying anything else for a long long time.

Aimee Avatar

I recently found out about the 168 brush, and I can’t use anything else. I have non existent cheek bones and the angled head on this brush creates the depth I need. Now I actually look like I have high sculpted cheeks 🙂

Meeyeon Avatar

MAC 109 brush! It’s the best for smaller faces, whether you’re conturing or just applying a pop of color it has the most precise application.

Riche Avatar

Hmm…let me see lol. I have been through a few different blush brushes! My first love was the MAC 168 because I felt it was great for helping me find the apples of my cheeks. Then the Sigma 187 had its 15 minutes of fame. Most recently I’ve been using (and loving) a MAC 129SH that I picked up at my local CCO. Just today though, I was eyeing the E.L.F. flat top powder brush — gotta keep things interesting lol.

Chrissy Avatar

I love using MAC’s 109 to apply my blush. I have a very round face so I need precise application. It works like a charm too!

Jody Avatar

depends on the blush, but the 187, or an ELF brush that I love, or a bare escentuals Flawless Radiance brush. I hate BE’s brushes, but this one I’ve kept and use a lot.

Lyndsay Avatar

Depending on how pigmented the blush is, I have two brushes I like to use. For less pigmented or lighter colors I have a Posh angled brush that I like to use. For more pigmented or brighter colors I use a S. Kashuk duo fiber brush. The one that looks like a stippling brush.

Cheyenne Avatar

I use this Sonia Kashuk brush from target. It has white hairs at the top and it looks like a stippling brush. I really love it for blush. It picks up color well, very cheap price and it’s soft. 🙂 That’s what’d I’d use for this as well!

Hey Christina are you getting my tweets? (shyshy0886) I’m just wondering. 😀 haha

Keener Avatar

Whatever brush is clean!

I use mainly my MAC 187, but I’m starting to use my Nars angled blush brush because I have more control with it. For cream blushes I got a drugstore brush especially for cream blushes and it actually works really well, never applies more than I need and I can work the colour evenly without much effort. I was quite pleased.

Andrea Avatar

My favorite brush to apply blush with is the Scott Barnes contour brush. I don’t know why it’s called a contour brush because it’s too big for that but I love it for applying blush. Plus, I got it at TJ Maxx for 10 bucks!

Sandy Avatar

I have a Sonia Kashuk blush brush from Target that I find myself reaching for most often. In fact, when I use my Korres orange blush, it’s the only one that dusts on *exactly* the right amount of color.

Molly Avatar

I use a blush brush from an Ecotools travel pack that I got, and I really like it a lot. once I tried my cousin’s MAC 129 and I fell in LOVE with it! Maybe one day I’ll buy one 🙂

Kajsa/Monticka Avatar

I have an angle (contour) brush from Davinci, it’s just the right size for my cheeks! Blends really well.

RT’ed, nickname: Monticka

Meezy Avatar

If you’re just a poor college student like me, the 109 is a great brush to invest in! I use it to apply foundation, blush, and contour! Such a great versatile brush!

Tifa Avatar

I actually have a nice, big angled blush brush my mother’s friend got for me 🙂 I don’t know the brand since it’s not a known name but it works fairly well!

Amy Avatar

I use this Mary Kay powder brush to apply my blush. It isn’t too big where I feel like it applies too much blush, so it works for me until I can get the money to buy a better one 🙂

Meghann Avatar

For mineralize blush, I spray one time with Fix + and use MAC’s 131 duo fiber brush. For other blushes, I either use MAC’s 129 or my Estee Lauder blush brush.

Brittany Avatar

MAC Kabuki brush – the MA used it to apply this blusher on me in the store and I’m in love! Definitely want to get both the blusher and the brush!

Carrie Ann Avatar

I always use my Ecotools blush brush. I like the way it’s tapered, so you can apply blush, bronzer or a highlighter precisely, but it’s also very soft and good for blending.

Daniela Avatar

I personally love a brush from the cheap European brand “Essence”. I rally don’t like their other stuff, but this brush is amazing (the one with the brownish hair). They unfortunately took this out from their sortiment 🙁 …

zoey Avatar

I like using the MAC 187 for blush b/c I’m fair and am always afraid of having OTT clown cheeks so I rely on my 187 to apply a subtle layer of colour =D

Mamavalveeta03 Avatar

This may sound pathetic, but remember, I do clean my brushes regularly (probably why they last so long). But my fave brush of all is my Bobbi Brown blush brush and I’ve had it for at least 10 years, if not more!

Jessi Avatar

188 is my favorite for mineralize blush. Just the right size for my small cheeks and lets me control how much I’m applying really well.

Missa Avatar

Depends on the look I’m going for: if I want just a little color I use ELF bronzing brush, and if I want alot more color I use Mary KAY cheek brush =)

Jessica Allison Avatar

I prefer angled blush brushes. They’re perfectly designed to give a natural looking contour. Since the shorter bristles deposit more color, if you place the short end of the angle in the hollow of your cheek with the longer bristles going upwards on to your cheekbone, you’ll get a nice contour that the brush itself will blend out around the edges!l

Laura Avatar

I’m horibly heavy-handed so I apply it as lightly as possible with the MAC 187 brush, then blend it out with the MAC 182 if needed. I’d like to try the 116 or 168 though.

Carla Avatar

It usually depends on which blush. If I’m using a more pigmented blush like Nars, I’d use a duo fiber brush either 130 or 187. If I’m using a MAC blush I either use the 165 or 129!

Emma Avatar

I love to apply my powder blush with a MAC #129 brush, and a MAC #130 brush does double duty for both creme blush and concealer. Also, the Too Faced flatbrush works great for contouring or applying bronzer.

Jackie Avatar

oh hellllsss yeah!!!
i switch between 2 of my favorite brushes.. my sonia kashuk black handle blush brush (from target) and my paris presents angled blush brush (from walmart .. i seriously LOVE this brush!)

Elena Avatar

I love my eco tools blush brush because it catches a lot of product in just one swipe and makes the blush aplication so esay, plus it’s suuuper soft!

VestalBeauty Avatar

MAC 109. I bought it to use it for foundation but I’m unable to make it work… However I think it’s great to apply blush in the apple of the cheek. For larger areas I use a Bobbi Brown Blush brush.

Brooke Avatar

I love using the Coastal Scents Italian Badger flat top brush for blush. It’s the only one I’ve found that makes blush application easy. It’s also cheap! 🙂

Jahyun Avatar

I usually use Bobbi Brown’s stick cheek tint but when I feel like adding some shimmer, I use Bobbi Brown’s blush brush to apply the pink shimmer blush.

Olivia A Avatar

I generally use a mini blush brush that came in a travel brush set from Sephora… I’d LOVE to get a new blush brush though, maybe from Urban Decay or MAC… hmm 🙂 I should do that!

Jennifer Avatar

I’m embarrassed to say that I keep going back to a super old brush from Charles of the Ritz. I’m sure this brand hasn’t produced for decades!

ilaybalilay Avatar

i use bloom blush brush or charm stippling brush (it’s from a local company here in the philippines, they make really good brushes)

Priscilla Avatar

I have this ELF brush that i use for all my bronzers and blushes! I think it’s called the face brush, and it is from the studio line, so it is black.

Thanks for hosting this!

Caroline Avatar

I like to use my Sephora Blush Brush from this LE Professional set that I got. I also like to use the blush brush from the Sephora travel brush set 🙂

Chynna Avatar

I’d use my Ecotools blush brush (it has a slightly pointed tip to precisely apply highlighter) to sweep on the apples, then follow with L’Oreal HIP Jelly Balm in Savory to amp up the peachiness!

Amanda H. Avatar

I’m not one to splurge on brushes but I lovveee sonia kashuks powder brush. I find the bigger the brush the more natural it looks on me

Kendra Avatar

I love using a stippling brush as I feel it gives me a more airbrushed finish and stops me from looking like a clown, as I still haven’t quite gotten the hang of blush yet. =P

Alexis Avatar

i know its not meant for blush but i use the 168, i found its actually really good for blush, or at least it is for me.
:D:D:D:D
happyface

Shannon Avatar

Oh YAY! I prefer to apply blush with a 168 angled contour brush to control how mucha and where it goes…I find blush brushes just spread it everywhere on my face :O lol

Good luck everyone 🙂

Michelle Thao Avatar

I’ve been using a 129SE brush lately for all my blushes and even my bronzers. Its either that or the ecotool’s blush brush. Those two are my favorites to use with blushes.

RaluKitty Avatar

My The Body Shop blush brush. Love the fact that it’s very soft (non-scratchy) but firm/full, it’s cruelty free and it has lasted 3 years like new!

Buzz Avatar

I use my MAC 109! Even though it’s a contour, I like the control it gives me when I do blush. If’s the only brush I have that allows me to put the blush JUST where I want it.

Katie Avatar

I actually have two: I love using a Lancome brush i got with a Christmas set as a gift, as well as an Essence of Beauty double ended brush.

KC Avatar

I don’t have any good brushes for my face since I’m a beginner :P. If I had to choose between my Revlon one and my Avon one, I’d pick the former.

Carmen Avatar

I use a wonderful blush brush that I got in a kit from Sears a few years ago. The hairs are soft and pick up just the right amount of blush for the apples of the cheeks.

Lauren Avatar

I like using the MAC 129 for applying blush. It’s large enough to cover a good portion of my cheek area, so I don’t have to keep going back. Plus, it’s dense enough to pick up a good amount of pigment on the first go. It’s also good at buffing out color if I happen to be a bit heavy handed with more pigmented blush.

Gummy Avatar

Hiya Christine! =)

I’ve been lurking and reading your site for a long time…It’s got such an organized database and it’s always fun to see what you’ll post about! Thank you! =)

Anyway, for blush, I love using the duo fibre brush…I have the Sephora Platinum #44 Stippling Brush, and it works wonders for blush – my favorite for it! ^_^

Phung Avatar

This is a great blush color! Felines collection is oh so very nice! I’m going to MAC @ Macy’s tomorrow night with a girl friend … can’t wait!

Jessica Avatar

I use the Studio Gear #14 Rouge Brush. This brush is the perfect size and it’s super soft so I know I’ll get the perfect application of cheek product whether it be a blush or highlight powder.

Megan Avatar

I use a brush from the Body Shop. Not sure exactly the name as it is rubbed off from so much use 🙂 It is one of their face/blush brushes. Long-ish bristles and it delivers the best colour application! I love it!

Jennifer Avatar

this seems to apply lightly so i would use a mac 109 to apply it then i would use a kabuki to buff it out! so it wont look like i have orange straight up cheeks!

Maggie Avatar

Apparently it’s not a very popular one, but I actually love the MAC 131. I’m very, very, very pale (always the lightest warm shade in any foundation, and even then it’s too dark much of the time :P) so I generally have to have a very light hand with blush or I look silly, and the 131 is the only brush I’ve found that gives me a very light application! Plus, the tapered bristles make it easy to control the width of the area I apply blush.

Judy Avatar

I use Stila #1 blush brush that I purchased a long time ago at Nordstrom. A lot of people complain it is not soft but mine is the sofetest brush ever. So much better than Mac for sure. It still looks and works great after more than 10 years of heavy usage. It has a silver handle.

Amanda Avatar

I love my Lola blush brush- it’s at least 7 years old and still amazing. I also use a powder brush that I got 5 or so years ago, it came free with a Venus Razor set. It’s suprising, but it is one of the best brushes I’ve ever used.

Tiffany Avatar

I use a normal blush brush when I’m in a hurry, but if I’ve got more time, I use a fan brush. A fan brush gives me a more natural flush that I can’t (and I’ve tried!) overdo, but it takes time to build it up because it picks up a lot less pigment than a blush brush.

Trista Hope Avatar

You will never believe this.. but my mother in law gave me the Mary Kay angled blush brush and I freaking love it!! Plus the pearlized pink handle is really cute 🙂

Kelly Avatar

Estee Lauder’s Blush Brush 15. My first makeup brush was actually a blush brush from Estee Lauder, and I’m too sentimental to change it. Besides, it seems to be working perfectly!

Kat Avatar

I haven’t been into makeup that long, so I have to admit that I use the E.L.F. Studio Complexion Brush. I’d like to upgrade eventually, but hey, it’s soft and it gets the job done.

Jessie Q Avatar

I use an Urban Decay blush brush to apply, and an Eco Tools blush brush (clean) to blend. I’ve been using this method for awhile now, and I like it!

Lo Avatar

I have Sephora’s angeled natural blush brush. I think is a very versatile brush to contour and give color to cheeks.
Now I want to find the perfect brush to mineral loose powder.

Haya Avatar

i for some reason love using my make 187 with mineralized blushes, it just gives the perfect amount of product without making me look to flushed!!!!

Lani Avatar

I love using my NARS Yachiyo brush for blushes. I didn’t care for it when I first got it but I now I love it. I want to try the MAC 116 brush though.

Kate Avatar

I adore my Bloom Cosmetics blush brush. It’s the softest brush I’ve ever used, the size and shape are perfect for effortlessly applying a natural looking flush.

Sharon Avatar

My favorite blush brush of all has got to be Laura mercier slanted blush brush! It just places the blush in the exact position I want it to be! =)

maya pastori Avatar

Hi Christine,
I love to put my blush with my Sephora Platinum Angled blush brush, i believe it’s number 42.
I’d love to win this blush
=)

Ann Avatar

I use the blush brush from a travel set of Shu Uemura brushes I got a few years ago … it was something like $55 for the set, which was a fantastic deal since the quality of the brushes is so high! I was just going to use the set for travel, but they’re so good that I use them every day as well.

Opheliana Avatar

My favorite blush-brush is actually just at big brush from åhlens own brand in sweden. Nothing impressing high-end brand, but it works very good.

Kelly Avatar

Depending on the texture and pigmentation of the blush I love to use a slanted blushbrush, stippling brush or a kabuki! I tend to pick up my slanted brush the most!

Sarah Avatar

I actually don’t have a brush, I use my fingers lol Always looks good though… I only have two small ones that came with l’oreal blushes.

Farida Avatar

I received a blush brush from Dior 2 yrs ago and I have been only using this brush. I love it so much that I refuse to replace it with other one.

Alexis Avatar

Honestly, I like using my travel sized Bobbi Brown face blender brush that came as a gift with the bronzer/blush duo that came out about two years ago!

Sarah Avatar

I like to use Bobbi Brown’s large powder brush because it diffuses the color well on the cheek without leaving any streaks, and it makes blending easy for a natural look. For a more contoured cheek, I use stila blush brush because it’s smaller.

Lisanne Avatar

I don’t have that many blush brushes, still really need to buy a MAC one. But now I daily use me Essence blush brush. For a budget brush, it’s really good, soooooo very soft 😀
I retweeted your message!

Step Avatar

Lately I’ve been using a Sonia Kashuk brush that’s rounded and comes to a point at the end. It’s a good multi tasker, whether I want a more defined cheek look or a soft cherubic type of thing.

Linnea Avatar

MAC 168 brush. Doesn’t go everywhere, not too much product. Love Love love! I got the set of the christmas brushes, so I have the smaller version, but its just easier to travel with!

tpzhearts Avatar

I looooove love love my Studio Tools Skunk Brush from Target. So sad it’s dced – that makes no sense to me! I use it everyday for blush, it’s great quality and I wish I would have picked up a backup. Oh and I also RTed!

Rachael W Avatar

I have love for all my brushes but I tend to reach for the same 3 on a weekly basis.
#1. Sonia Kashuk Skunk Brush
#2. EcoTools baby kabuki brush
#3. Not sure of the technical name (Sephora line) but it’s a ginormous, super fluffy headed brush that I bought several years ago.

Lily Avatar

I always use my POSH blush brush. I love it, and no offense to POsh of anything, but i’m also secretly waiting for it to die so I can buy a Mac 188. 🙂

Shannon Avatar

I head straight for my Lilique slant blush brush that i bought at TJMaxx. i’m reallyreally really sad that i discovered it so late and so was unable to get a backup. this thing is freakin amazing! so soft and the perfect fit for my face size and shape. it works well with pigmented blush (it almost looks like dual fiber, but the white tip isn’t nearly as long as a skunk), but works just as well to blend things out. LOVE!

suzieduck Avatar

i am currently using a Hakuhodo pointed brush. i also like my retractable brush from Jill Stuart that came with the blush.

i have tweeted. i just dunno how to get the url link. duhhh…

Teresa Avatar

Well I wish I could use MAC’s 116 but I don’t own it :p Right now I am using POSH’s angled blush brush and it does the job wonderfully! 🙂

P.S. #2: I see now that my comments are working, just not answered yet from last thurs 😉 TIA

Zenaida Avatar

I know it’s cheap, but I love my EcoTools Blush brush!! I use it all the time. It’s as if it were made for my cheek and it is UNBELIEVABLY soft!!

Amanda Weston Avatar

I have an ages old Clinique promo brush I use for most over-all dustings, but for specific blush application I’ve become a little attached to a mini kabuki.

Hope Avatar

Before i was really big into makeup and fell obsessed into high end brands, i ordered off this website that had brands that were drugstore quality but that you couldn’t find in drugstores, i bought this short handle angled brush, it could be used to contour and apply brush, i even use it sometimes to apply powder foundation..

It has black bristles, a light pink ferrule, and a silver handle.

I guess in a way its special because its my first brush i ever purchased and honestly it does a better job applying my blush than my expensive ones..

Thanks so much Christine for this contest!

Kammi Avatar

I am a fan of Tempatalia on Facebook. I shared the contest with over 200 friends on Facebook. I am a susbcriber of Tempatalia blog via Email. I am a subscriber of Tempatalia blog via RSS. Oh my gosh! That shade is gorgeous! I would def use it on my cheeks!!

Riki Avatar

i use a fluffy angled brush i actually bought locally for pretty cheap. i find that an agled brush works way better for me with blushed than the regular ones.

Megen Avatar

I <3 my Mark by Avon bronzer brush!!!! I even love it more than any MAC face/blush brushes I own and my Sephora brand angled blush brush, black handle not platinum one! 😉

Jehnay Avatar

Unfortunatly I don’t have any MAC brushes, so I would probably use this one no name brush my aunt got me for christmas last year. they’re just these brushes that came in a set of 3. They’re really soft! 🙂

Shannay Avatar

I loove my Vincent Longo Slanted Powder Brush #32, it’s big, soft and it is perfect for applying blush. I’ve had it for about 3 years and not once has it shed! I highly recommend this brush for people to try out 🙂

Mavis Avatar

I usually use my posh powder brush 🙂 I know its a powder brush but because its so fluffy and big its perfect for a light application. 🙂
