These are the ways that I would wear Petticoat.

1. Highlighter on the cheekbone
2. Blush
3. Highlight for Brow Bone
4. On my arms to add glow
5. On my chest to add glow
6. As a highlighter on the cupid’s bow
7. As a highlighter on my forehead
8. As a highlighter on my lips after my lipstick has been applied.

Nisa Avatar

I would wear the Petticoat Mineralize Skinfinish on my cheekbones to give me a nice highlight and glow. I would simply just dust along my cheekbones so I don’t look like a disco ball.

Eunbee Avatar

I would probably use it as a light blush for school to create a natural looking flush-I don’t want to have makeup that’s too heavy for school!

Alisha Avatar

I would wear Petticoat MSF on my cheeks to give me a cute glow… I’m sure it’d make me look a *lot* cuter than a big, ginormously flouncy skirt! 😉

Q Avatar

I’d wear it as a blush, honestly, with a light hand (I’m pretty pale). I’ve also contemplated the occasional use as an eyeshadow; the raspberry shade looks gorgeous and the gold would keep it from being too pink…

JD Avatar

Pretty MSF! My first thought was a retro look…a touch of Grain with a little Charcoal Brown in the crease, and a black winged out eyeliner softened with Carbon. Petticoat on the cheeks, with Creme de Nude lipstick and Wonderstuck lip glass on top!

Karen Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat with a light brown smokey eye, so it’s somewhat dramatic while still natural, and I’d throw some rusty colors in there as well. I’d use colors like MAC Bamboo, Kat Von D Leather, MAC Antiqued, and Tokidoki Romeo. I’d wear Petticoat MSF buffed into my cheekbones, from my temple to the apples of the cheeks. I’d keep any foundation underneath very natural. Lastly, I’d wear it with a pinkish nude lipstick, like MAC’s Shy Girl.

Great contest 🙂

Mariela Avatar

I’d use petticoat as a highlight cause I’m about an nc40. And depending on the veining, I’d pick a satin or matte finish blush. And definitely a matte eyeshadow!

Madeline Avatar

i would use petticoat mineralized skin finish as a blush or a highlighter. my skin tone is light so it would show up great as a blush, but as a highlight it might be a tag bit dark

sarab Avatar

I think I’d wear it as a blush and not as a highlight because it has enough pigmentation for my skin tone. I’d pair it with soft pink lips and a golden pink/golden brown combo in my eyes.

Cat Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a highlighter/blush on my cheekbones blending back and up toward my temples. I would likely only wear it with bright/dark eyes at night. Otherwise, daytime wear would include a neutral eye and probably a slightly darker-than-normal-tone lip look, for balance. 🙂

allie Avatar

i’m pretty pale, so i think that petticoat has just enough shimmering veining to brighten up my complexion. it would make a great high light!

Valerie C. Avatar

Hi~~
I’d wear Petticoat on the apples of my cheeks for a glow. I’m fair, so it would show up well. Thanks!

I’ll tweet too (dragonfly777)

Cherie Avatar

I would experiment a bit, since it would be my first MAC Skinfinish. I would probably wear it as a blush on the apples of my cheeks. I have very light skin.

sophie Avatar

i would use it as a blush probably! i have very fair skin tone so this will look nice! i would wear my On the Scene cremeshene glass and some thick eyeliner!

kara vitacca Avatar

I would wear petticoat as a blush because it looked so pretty on you that way in your review. I only have soft and gentle msf so I would be excited to see how more pigmented msf’s look on the cheeks and experiment with it!

Carly Avatar

I would wear it with a bronzy/smokey eye, add a little contout with a bronzer, and use Petticoat as my blush. On my lips, I would not go on the light side, I would try a lipgloss that is similar to the darkest color on this blush, something like Pop Mode or Decorative from MAC.

Katie Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat as a highlight or I’d use it to emphasize the blush I’m already wearing. I’ve been waiting forever for this MSF! I almost bought it for $40 from an online CCO, even when I knew this collection was coming because I was THAT excited!

Tasha Avatar

Please enter me to win Petticoat MSF!
I’d wear it just behind the apples my cheeck and work back to the hair line!!
ThNks for the opportunity to win

Emily Avatar

Oh, how exciting! I think on my NW20 skin, I’d wear petticoat as a blush paired with a golden-brown smokey eye. I’m a big fan of pink and brown.

Sarah Avatar

I don’t own any MAC msf, it seems I would use it mainly as a blush and (my non existence) cheekbone high lighter. it makes my cheekbones pop with a pale pink lips and bronzy gold eyemakeup

kim Avatar

even though the name petticoat makes me sweat in this 100+ NYC weather, this is my favorite MSF. that’s right, suck it stereo rose.

i would wear this as a subtle blush…but i’m sure it makes an awesome highlight as well.

Yannie Avatar

Will use Petticoat as blush/eyeshadow/layering over plummy-beige blushes. Mine has a huge raspberry chunk, so maybe as an eyeliner too 😀

UltraLuxe Avatar

I’d wear it with my favorite eye look right now–Prunella e/l, Vanilla pigment, and Shale on the outer third of my lids!

Brooke Avatar

I would wear petticoat just as a blush. I’m NW25 and love the way it looks as a blush… unfortunately it was between this one and stereo rose at the store… guess who won lol

Aneela Avatar

I forgot to mention how I would wear this petticoat.
I would like to wear petticoat as a blush because it is a beautiful pink shimmery color!

Kristina Avatar

I have been working hard at skincare this summer in an attempt to have nicer skin and need less coverage. So I would use Petticoat as a highlighter over my tinted moisturizer to show off my new, healthier skin!

Milessa Avatar

With a dark smokey eye, and Petticoat dusted lightly on the cheeks to make it look as though there’s no blush, but a nice iridescent glow to the cheeks and a glossy light pink on the lips.

Aniequo F. Avatar

How would I wear Petticoat!!?? With my cutest little pair of Mary Janes and pearl earrings ofcourse!! Haha! AND ofcourse all over my mug for that perfect rosey anytime glow!

judy Avatar

I think I’d wear it over a cream blush (like my MAC Lady Blush or NARS Penny Lane) for a beautiful added layer of dimension!

Shelby Avatar

Ooh, gorgeous! I don’t know how I’d wear it, because I’ve never had one of these before, but I’m sure that by looking back through your archives, I could figure it out!

Grace Avatar

I would buff it onto my cheeks for a rosy, shimmering glow! Maybe one day I could use it as a lid color with a darker brown in the crease! It’s so pretty!!! 🙂

stephanie Avatar

I would use this as a blush in like the winter and for the summer depending how tan i get i would use it as a highlighter or blush

Kajsa Avatar

I’d use it as it’s made for; as a face highlighter. And if it fits well with my skin tone maybe as a brow highlighter.

RT’ed, nickname: Monticka

ssumeraa Avatar

Oh wow!!!! Awesome contest Christine, thank you, thank you, thank you. I would wear it as a blush, or wear it lightly as a highlighter, and since I don’t have any eyeshadow in this color, I would even use it on my eye since I’m NC20 🙂

Melody Avatar

I don’t own any MAC Mineralized blushes, but Petticoat looks so pretty! I bet that it would look awesome on just about every skin tone. I would definitely wear this blush on my cheeks for a rosy glow 🙂

kasiaj85 Avatar

I’d use it on my cheeks as a blush, with a very subtle eye makeup, I’m thinking light blue or lilac and a lipstick that stands out 😉

Janice Avatar

I’d probably use it in a fresh-faced summer look with a light tinted moisturizer, tarte bathtub gin shadow on lids, brown liner, mascara, and petticoat swept all over!

Sally Avatar

I would wear it as a blush since I’m fairly light. I think it would look gorgeous with a brown smoky eye and a raspberry lip. Oh, that sounds nice!

youky koh Avatar

My favorite is to even out skin tone, lightly bronze the face using a slightly darker than skin tone bronzer, and then pat this beautiful Petticoat pink on to the apples of my cheeks. It has a slight glimmer that makes cheeks pop without overwhelming.

Katja Avatar

The one I had from last time it was released was not very pigmented, so I couldn’t use it alone as a blush. I have used it alone as a highlighter paired usually with pink blushes like PInk Swoon.

Jillian Avatar

Oooh, yum! I’d wear Petticoat as a lovely “setting” MSF over a great cream blush! Great for the summer and for a nice dewey complexion! It’s beautiful!

Carrie B Avatar

I’d wear it with champagne shadow and light eyeliner on top lids, with a matching raspberry-pink lip. (Maybe, more specifically, MAC Nurture shadestick topped with Fyrinnae Crimson Ghost on eyes and on lips, MAC Utterly Frivolous l/s topped with Racy 3D glass)

Emma Avatar

Hi there! I’d love to get Petticoat since it won’t be sold here in Iceland. I’d use it as a blush on my NC30-ish skin and also to top of other pink blushes.

Marlayna Avatar

i would wear it on the apples of my cheeks because it seems it would leave a gorgous flawless shimmer. i would love to try this and review it on my youtube channel! enter me!

victoria Avatar

i would love to win petticoat. since i have a light med skin tone, i would wear it as a highlighter, blush, a wash of color on my eyelids and a highlighter on the center of my lips but not all at the same time of course.

Charmain Avatar

I would wear petticoat over my illamasqua blush Unrequited and with my gosh soft lip balm ‘nd shine sweetheart!
Eyes, nothing but a little eyeliner & some mascara. That way my cheeks will pop!
Can’t get this msf in The Netherlands yet..!

Amy Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat MSF by putting on my cheeks as a blush when all of my other makeup is neutral and none shimmery. I’d especially wear it in the winter time to give me a glow. I’d probably wear it as a highlight too, but mainly as a blush! :o)

TinaG Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat with a nude lipstick and very simple eyeshadow, preferably a grey one (I would use gazette grey since I love it)

Shanimal Avatar

I use it for everything! i highlight my browbone (i have an extra “vein-y”, shimmery one), i use it as a blush, and i highlight and blend my cupid’s bow with it before i do red lips. i love this!

alejandra Avatar

Well, i would wear the light color on the apples of my cheeks and in the eyes i´d wear the dark and metallic colors 🙂 i think is a fresh look

Jazmine Avatar

I’d wear it as a highlighter on the cheekbone, maybe as a light blush and wet my eyeshadow brush, dip it into this MSF and use it as an eyeshadow!

BeautyMieze Avatar

would look at it and be soooo happy that its finally mine 🙂
would use it on my cheeks- on my eyes to freshen up my look and as highlighter over my blusher
and also would show it to the whole world by showing it in my blog and tellin´everyone that i won this at temptalia – best beauty blog ever !!!!

LaDonna Avatar

Holy 220 comments already 🙂

I would wear it both on my eyelids AND cheeks.. using as much of the maroonish veining as I could on the eyes with some carbon to smoke it out.. then I’d blend it up high on my cheekbones

Step Avatar

Neutral eyeshadow, Viva Glam V or something neutral on the lips, thick liner and big lashes, petticoat on cheeks. Sort of a healthy subtle dolly look.

Cynthia B Avatar

I would definitely wear this as a blush! Since it’s so shimmery/metallic, I’d definitely have to use a light hand, and probably a duo-fiber brush. I LOVE the how the veining can change how each MSF looks. The Petticoat in your picture looks like it’d actually be quite dark, and gorgeous. 🙂

Christie Avatar

Try to blend it into a smokey eye with a nude gloss or perhaps an intensive black smokey eyes and this on the cheeks should look pretty hot for a date!

Vijaya Avatar

I’d wear this as a nice blush and pair it with brownish pink lips; I like to fill in my lips with Roach by Urban Decay and then put Viva Gaga on top.

yangtanw Avatar

I’d wear it as a blush or highlighter. But I believe it can be worn as eye shadow as well… well, will just have to be paired with a much darker contour color.

Stephanie Avatar

I’ve never worn Petticoat by itself, but i love to use it on top of any pink blushes, especially on top of MAC Tippy blush! LOVE!

Opheliana Avatar

I would wear it very thin as a blush on my cheeks with a strong rasberry colored lipstick, and some petticoat combined with a grey eyeshadow and a golden highlight on my inner eye.

Ru Avatar

I would wear petticoat as a blush on my tan/olive skin tone. For the workday, mixed. For a weekend day, dry. For night, wet. I think it would give a nice warm glow to my skintone.

LaJune Yevette Avatar

I would take that small area in the corner and use it as an eyeshadow and then use the skinfinish the way it is normally used all over the face. This would give me a natural look with a little bit of shimmer!

Donna Avatar

I’ve always wanted this MSF but never got…i would wear it as a highlighter or even a blush, i am prob the right complextion to get away with it either way!

Haley Avatar

would looooove this as a blush, i just got back from my MAC store and just finished playing with it. But I told myself i could only get MSF… so i went for stereo rose 😀 but i loved them both so much

Elaine Avatar

i’d wear petticoatwith a nude glossy lip (creme de nude plus big baby lip gloss) painterly paintpot on the eyes wih a black liquid liner (with a little flick at he end, of course!!!)

katy Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat as a blush. It’d be even more awesome to have while it’s summer to add a nice glow along with pink color. 🙂

aksaiyo Avatar

I would use petticoat…
1. as a cheek highlight
2. as a brow highlight
3. on my nose ridge between my eyes (asian with rather “flat” nose)
4. on collar bone

Christine Avatar

I would go for a pin up retro eye, with thick bold eyeliner and fab big lashes, use petticoat as a blush/highlight and then a pink stain of the lips. Depending on how the pigmentation is i would prob dust some on my shoulders and chest

Hannah D. Avatar

I would wear it on my cheekbones paired with a smokey, golden eye (think woodwinked).. Perfect for those summer nights 🙂

Laura Avatar

I’d wear petticoat as a blush on the days when I needed a pick me up, and a more healthy looking flush to my cheeks! As a Mum to be very soon, I’m sure I’ll be needing that! xxx

eveli Avatar

I would wear it as a touch blush on the high part of my cheekbones blended in very lightly to add a glowing affect with color!

Stephanie Avatar

It looks pigmented enough that I’d wear it as a natural blush/highlighter all in one and even grab some of the browner colors to use on my eyes. Wow, this would be all I’d need beside TM and mascara! 😀

Maria Avatar

I’d wear it as a blush since I have pretty pale skin! I think the rasberry color to it would complement my skin well. As for the face, I’d probably keep it pretty neutral with really bold lashes! (:

Faye Avatar

I would wear petticoat msf as a blush for a nice glow, or use it as highlight. Possibly even use it as a wash of color on the lid for a quick and easy eyeshadow look. A great multipurpose product 🙂

Kat Avatar

I would use it as a blush, and also as a way to warm up my skin and give it a glow all over with a very fluffy blush and a light layer of it.

Sara Avatar

i have petticoat but it isnt nearly as veined and beautiful as yours!!! my favorite part of petticoat is the dark veining…i’d have a ball using this one since it’s so pronounced and gorgeous. i think it’s perfect for neutral eyes, light pink lip and petticoat cheeks. too cute.

Fiza Avatar

ZOMG it would hurt my feelers to use this coz it’s so pretty!

But i would definitely use it as a blusher to compliment a “summery” kind of look and give my skin a healthy glow.

GinaB Avatar

I think that I would really try to take this one far haha! I would use the different veining in it as eyeshadows (the lighter beige shade, the darker bronze, and the shimmery pink) and then i would swirl them all together and use it on my cheeks. Looks like fun!

Kat Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat to highlight the apples of the cheeks rather than the cheekbone, add to it some bronzer contouring, translucent pink lip gloss, neutral eyes, and a dab on the cupid’s bow.

Sara Avatar

Hey doll! OOoOo It is SO pretty! I would mainly use it as a highlighting product! On “natural” or work days, I would also try to use it as blush! Good luck to everyone and best wishes!* ♥

Aline Avatar

I would wear petticoat with a very nice eyeshadow liek juxt but packed on and a birhgt lip like vegas volt with flurry of fun over:)

erica Avatar

i think petticoat would look great as a highlight/cheek color with a dark smokey eyeand natural/nude lips for a night out. it would add a nice sheen perfect for summer

Corinne Avatar

All blushes are dull? No! Take a look!
MAC Petticoat Mineralize! It’s off the hook!

On my cheeks,
At the beach.
As a soft blush,
To make boys hush.
For a little pink,
To make you think.
Or add some glow,
For my special beau.

Now I will wear it on a train
And in a car and on a plane.
And I will wear while in a house
And in a box and with a mouse.
And with my twitter pal Labrasnore
Cause tweeps know he’s no bore.
And I will wear it here and there.
Yes, I will wear it anywhere!

I do so like MAC Petticoat Mineralize Skinfinish!
I know! I know! It will make my skin delish!

Lea Avatar

I would wear Petticoat with a neutral eye and use it as a cheek colour and highlighter. So basically a strong cheek and neutral eye.

Carolina Avatar

This would give a perfect finish to my face, would make me look healthier and emphasize my face. People would compliment me on looking so glowing and not know I was wearing make up. It would put a bounce on my step all day and make me look in every reflective surface. 🙂

Amanda Sosa Avatar

I LOVE petticoat. I always have used it as a blush, but now I am going to try it as an eyeshadow and see what it looks like…..

Storm Avatar

I love this color and the name is wonderful. I’m actually a C2 in the Studio Fix line and I’d wear this as a blush with almost anything!

Beryl Avatar

I always wear MSF as a highlight, never worn it alone. Love to use this as a highlighter for any of my pink blushes with nude/light pink lips and smoky eyes 🙂

Carie Avatar

I have extremely light skin, so the most obvious way I would wear Petticoat would be as a blush! But I would also use the lighter and/or shimmery parts of it as a highlighter for my cheekbones/brow bones, on my chest, on the bridge of my nose, and on my forehead. I think it’d look great with a brown smoky eye and a mild pink lipstick.

Ayesha Avatar

I would wear Petticoat first and foremost as a blush. But if I were to take it on holiday, it could double as eyeshadow too!! The pink bits on the lid, then the darker veins in the crease/outer corner 🙂 AND I could even apply it with a lip brush to my lips, then put some clear gloss over it to turn it into a lip colour!

Aimee Avatar

for an everyday look i’d wear a simple, defined with a small wing eye and pop this amazing MSF on the top of my apples and then really sheerly on the cheekbones too, as i think this gorgeous raspberry colour will definitely give an amazing healthy glow and colour! I’d pair it with a nude lip, probably MAC florabundance.. or if im feeling like giving an extra pop of colour to my lips i’ll pair it with Jazzed.. also from the MAC in the Groove collection.. perfect combo! 😀

Ada Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat as a highlight or blush with a really simple eye (just some black liner on my upper lid and mascara) for a natural look.

MrsPetruschka Avatar

Hello 🙂
I would wear this gorgeous MSF as a blush and highlighter on my cheeks and my cheekbones. And sometimes as eyeshadow with Fluidline in blacktrack.
Please enter me to win the wonderful Petticoat. thanks for the opportunity. 🙂

Kristina Avatar

I’d wear it as a blush or even a highlighter blush. Petticoat more on my cheek bones and a darker color underneath it.

Kirstin Avatar

Please enter me to win!

I’d like to use Petticoat MSF on top of a more matte pink blush for a little extra summer glamour. 🙂

Suzanne Avatar

I dont have any MSF’s But this one looks absolutely gorgeous !!! I would wear a smokey dramatic eye with a lot of black eyeliner, and use Petticoat as a light blush to bring out my color. The winner will be lucky !!! Its just soooooo pretty.

Sass Avatar

I don’t use mine at all. I may have to give this another try. It’s a pretty color, but too much sheen for me. I’ll see what I can do.

Kate Avatar

i would wear it as a blush on holiday to make me more glowing and i would probably just wear some powder waterproof mascara and some tinted lipbalm

Jennifer Avatar

I would love to wear Petticoat with a a gold and brown smoky eye and a neutral lip color maybe freckletone by MAC. I think the petticoat would add a nice glow to my cheeks!!!!!!

Samantha Avatar

I wear MSFs as a substitute for blush because my cheeks are already so rosy. Petticoat is perfect because it gives just enough color without making my cheeks look overdone! I’ve been dying to get my hands on this MSF and I’d love to win. 🙂

Jenniferrr Avatar

I would love to use this to warm up my face! Sometimes i tend to look extra pale in the mornings, but i think this would help!

kaitlyn Avatar

I would use this as a blush with some shimmery eyeshadow and creamy gloss-as my back to school look this is the one i want the most!

Merel Avatar

i would wear it with mac shroom on the center of my eyelids, with brown smuged eyeliner and brown mascara, en ofcourse shroom under my eyebrow and in my inner corner, and for lips i would use a sheer coral lipstick

Tiffany Avatar

I’d wear petticoat as a blush or as a highlight. I think it’d make a nice sweep of colour on the lids as well on lazy days where I don’t want to apply eyeshadow but want a nice wash of colour to wake up the eye area.

lalaith Avatar

I would wear it mainly as a blush (I think he is a brilliant everyday blush), but I would also try to use him for a redish Eye Make Up. I think he would fit perfectly to royal flush and melon with a burgundy red.

Jessi Avatar

For a night out in a dimly lit bar, I’d love to go metallic all over my face and decolletage with it, with pale lips and black greasepaint stick around the eyes – like Pris from Blade Runner!!!

Lulu Avatar

I’d just wear petticoat as a blush for that pink flushed girly look — it’d definitely be an everyday blush for me 🙂

Miss_Silk Avatar

Since it’s summer I don’t just wear my MSFs on my face but with the more shimmery ones, I tend to use it above my chest…collar bone area, where the bottom of your neck ends. I do that because I wear tanktops and long maxi dresses that shows shoulders/upperchest/collarbone, so when applying a bit of MSF (or Stila’s illuminating finishing powders..) it just makes my skin glow in the sun or during the day, even at night when pictures are being taken. I’m often told i’m glowing haha.

Miss_Silk Avatar

But since it’s Petticoat, not applying to much would look nice, because i’m warm skintoned, so i’ve swatched it before and it looks just shimmery on me, but with a rosy tint.

cynthia Avatar

I would love wearing Petticoat as the pop of cheek color along with by candlelight for the high light…Petticoat is such a beautiful color..I just tried it at MAC counter today, however, I couldn’t get a hold of this one, either..(of course, the “Stereo Rose” already sold out ..)

Jess Avatar

What an awesome contest! I just saw this at the MAC counter today and it’s gorgeous.

I would definitely wear it as a blush. I think it would be lovely on my NW15 skin. 🙂

victoria Avatar

I’d use petticoat to give more health and dimension to my face (so as to give the effect of prominent cheekbones). It could pair nicely I think with my mac golden bronzing powder as it looks like more of a semitransparent veil than a blush(some blushes look muddy on me when I try to get them blended near the bronzed areas of my face).I’d also use it over a mat or satin blush to create new colors 🙂

vnssa906 Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a highlighter, on my cheeks, over my temple, and nothing else.. err, maybe some tinted moisturizer lol! I want to see how GLAM Petticoat is on its own 🙂

Lyndsay Avatar

I would wear this with a light brown eye, lots of mascara, and light lip. I like this as a blush being the real star of the look.

ilmy Avatar

Well, I would probably use it as a blush!! by the way I have to see it first and make it work!!
amazing contest as always!

CurlyKye Avatar

I’d definitely wear Petticoat as a blush since I love subtle looks. I’d use a light hand so as not to over-glitterize myself *heehee*

Ann T. Avatar

I would wear Petticoat on my cheeks as a blush, by gently tapping the brush on the mineralized skinfinish and completely blending it. I might also try to use it as a highlighter on my brow bone. thanks!

andrea Avatar

heyy christine! i absolutely loooovee your website! I would wear petticoat as a highlight on the tops of my cheeks or as a nice qlowy cheek color(:

angela Avatar

I would use it as a nice highlight and I really don’t have any highlights or blushes. I also would like to try out the MSF’s. 🙂

Anna Avatar

I could use it 2 ways
As a blush or as a highlighter
I think it would look really cute with a more natural makeup. keeping it simple and clean.

Tina Newsom Avatar

If I was feeling really bold, I would blend it with clear lipglass and apply to the lips. As for the rest of my face, I would go bold smokey gray/black on eyes and use a subtle matte pink on my cheeks.

Kat Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a blush with bronzer and simple eyeliner. I’d like to showcase the msf and draw attention to my cheeks instead of my eyes or lips. :]

Vicky Avatar

I have never ownes an MSF so this would be a great opportunity.
I could definatley use it as a blush, to highlight my cheek bines. Perhaps to highlight anywhere else on my face like th ebrow bown, bridge of my nose etc…. or what would be really cool is to use it et as a bottom lash liner! 🙂

Ashley Avatar

I would dust it over my lips, because I discovered it gives it a really lovely sheen lip colour effect and it looks gorgeous, dust some as a highlight on the cheek bones, concentrate some on the apples as a blush. I can also use this on the lid for eyeshadow and use the redish/sheen colour concentrated on the outer v and some on the tear ducts.

Dalvys Avatar

Wow… where do I start?! I would wear this as a basic all over highlighter ( neck, cheeks, collarbone, forehead, eyes, nose, etc.) I would also like to try and experiment and mix it with deep purples and blues to see how the contrast would look. Also, a Dark caramel brown color wold look interesting with it! I’d also like to see how it would look on my lips with a clear MAC gloss! It is such a universally flattering color that theres too many things you could do!

Robin Avatar

I wear Petticoat as a highlighter over Well-Dressed blush or sometimes when my skin is having a great day as a cheek color by itself.

Jenine Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat MSF for a blush, or a highlight on my cheekbones, browbone, cupid’s bow, and on the bridge of my nose ( :

Roberta Avatar

I like to wear it on as blush because I’m really really pale. I like wearing it when I do a purple smokey eye and pinky-nude lips.

chibu74 Avatar

i would use it as a blush or as a lid color…its soooooooo gorg….i wanna win this coz i was not able to make it MAC…its sold out 🙁

msjay97 Avatar

I would wear this as a highlight and blush because i dont have many highlights and this is such a univeral color that i cant go wrong ; )

Jackie Avatar

its such a pretty berry-pink color, i’d have to wear it just as a blush with.. but i cant have too much going on cuz i know petticoat can be pretty glittery

Mary Joyce Avatar

i would wear it as hiliter or blush. Oh my goodness! Stereo rose is the bomb! would absolutely love to own it!

i also RT’d. twitter name: joyceongco

Debbie Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a blush definitely! I have olive skin and I think it will help give me a natural looking flush. Such a pretty color 🙂

Meesh Avatar

Petticoat is just one of those shades that can function as a blush or a high lighter! I’d wear it around every day for that like flush of color but nothing heavy!

sofia Avatar

i’d wear it as blush with champagne e/s all over the lid, lots of mascara and a pink cool toned lipstick…
it’s a very unique colour!love it!

Christina Avatar

I’d wear this MSF as a blush/highlight.
I’d probably use the 187 or a fan brush to apply it lightly to the cheeks.

Tammy Avatar

Being someone with slightly fair skin, I’d only wear this with a neutral eye. I even think minimal eye makeup and just this would look ridiculously cute!

Laura Avatar

I’d wear this with ud baked e/s, copper sparkle pigment on the outer corner, and teddy eye kohl, to give a beachy golden glow with a fresh pink hue on the cheek to mix it up instead of going with a bronzer. For fun I would do a creme de nude lip with right image creamsheen glass for a pink glow

Diana Avatar

I would love to mix Petticoat on the cheeks with the new Urban Decay Naked palette with some Creep on the lid, Gunmetal in the crease, Sin to blend it together, and dark navy liner.

Victoria Avatar

I would wear this as a blush. I swatched it at MAC store and it was really pretty. The lighter part would also make an incredible highlighter!

Mollie Avatar

blush or a highlighter! ahh i’ve wanted petticoat for so long!! mostly since i’ve started watching youtube videos a year and a half ago!! i don’t wear much makeup in the summer, but once it gets to be fall and school starts up again i would TOTALLY wear petticoat as my every day blush! thanks for doing this giveaway!

Sharon M Avatar

I’ve never owned or wore a Mineralize Skinfinish, but just looking at the colour would apply it on my temples and cheeks (maybe a bit on chin and forehead as well), all very lightly and paired with a gray smokey eye.

Thank you for the giveaway!

Phung Avatar

I would love to win this MAC Petticoat! I would wear it as blush with a medium to light brown eyeshadow for a more natural, beautiful look along with Mocha Pink lipstick by Estee Lauder. I used to wear that lipstick growing up maybe about 15 years ago. It’s lovely and I think that Estee Lauder doesn’t carry it in the lipsticks any more.

Angie Avatar

I’d usually wear petticoat on the cheeks and eyes as a overall colour! It gives this pretty pinkish maybe violet kind of sheen which is so pretty:) if i had plain lipgloss i might blend in some petticoat to make lipsheen 🙂

Janet Avatar

I would brush it lightly all over my face and/or cheeks for a healthy, luminous glow. Then, I’d lightly dab it underneath my browbone for a gorgeous highlight. For a special occasion, I’d use a big fluffy brush for all-over body shimmer.

Paige Avatar

Since I have very pale skin, I would use a light hand and apply this as a blush. Also, I’d really want to use it as an eyeshadow, but in the crease, with a paler color on the lid, like maybe Haux (my only pink).

Jennifer Avatar

Lightly swirled on the apples of the cheeks, with a warm pink lip, soft bronzed eyes, mascara and defined eyebrows. Naturally! 🙂

deborah Avatar

I would want a pretty and soft look with petticoat so maybe petticoat, pink lipstick and a subtle brown smokey eye look 🙂

Jamie J Avatar

This shade is so pretty I’d love to use it for a cute summer blush/highlighter.
I’d also use it by mixing just a little bit with some lotion cream, to get a beautiful summer glow.

Maggie G. Avatar

I’m super-pale, so I could really only wear Petticoat as a blush 🙂 I’d love to pair it with a colored smoky eye and a pale pink lip!

Hannah Avatar

I would use it as a highlighter on top of a cream blush. I’ll most likely have a otherwise subtle look because I want the attention on my cheeks.

Lexus thomas Avatar

i would wear it as a all over face powder to get that glow ! that is great for the summer time look ! thanks ! oh i want this so bad ! good luck ladies !

Kayvid Avatar

I would love to use Petticoat with neutral eyes since it has a pop of it’s own. I would love to use it heavily swatched on my eyes as an eyeshadow as well…

happybadfish Avatar

This is the perfect color for my light skin. I’d sweep it on my cheeks with a neutral eye, and I’d layer it a bit more with black lined smokey eyes!!

Madeline Avatar

I’d love to wear Petticoat as a rosy-bronze cheek paired with with chocolate brown winged liner, shimmery ivory shadow and a rosy-nude lip like Buxom Sugar lipgloss! Thanks for the chance, Christine!

Courtney Rader Avatar

I’d either wear it as a highlight or on the cheeks. I would probably pair it with Naked Lunch and either Sable or Satin Taupe. Also for lips- NYX Sweetheart gloss.

Olivia Avatar

I would use petticoat as a blush to give me a fresh, glowy look to my skin. I would use it lightly so that it looks like a subtle, natural pink flush, not clown cheeks 🙂

raquel Avatar

i’d bathe in it. lol

seriously, i love this MSF.

i’d wear it during the winter the most to give the “pink glow” about my face. nice, thick black lashes w/ a thin black liner, nude lip and petticoat on the cheeks. lovely!

thanks!

Flor :D Avatar

Mainly as a Blush, alone or mix with other lighter MSF or traditional blush, i don´t use e/s so if i am going to focus something in my makeup has to be my cheeks…lol

Jennifer Avatar

I think with ur skin tone u could put this MSF with u have neurtal pink/gold sort oyes with a thick eyeliner winged out and a soft deep rasberry gloss i think it would look fantastic on u!

Jessica Avatar

I could so see using this in a pinch if you needed an eyeshadow, cheek color, and even lip color and it doesn’t even have to be a monotone look! You could dip into the darker veining for crease color and/or liner or sheer it out and use the lighter areas for highlight. You could also total mix it all togetheror choose a more specific color and apply it to your lips and put a clear gloss over top or spice up existing lip color! I think that any of the msf’s that have different color veining in them can have multiple uses. Thank you for the contest!

Jennifer Cleveland Avatar

Petticoat is a really romantic shade to me – I absolutely love it. I would actually pair it up with Stacked 1! Crushed Metal Pigments from the Colour Forecast Collection. They would be so pretty paired up with Petticoat and Just Superb Creamsheen Glass 🙂

Tiffany Avatar

Well, I would wear it normally as a blush, highlight, etc, but what would I do to complement it? a very soft and messy smoky eye. Not a regular smoky eye but a bit of chocolate to add some life to the look. Smudged eyeliner. Matte bronzer to bring out petticoat and a light mauve lipstick to finish it off.

Mamade Avatar

I would wear Petticoat to give my cheeks a nice blush for a date with my hubby – the first one, finally, after almost 3 years with our adorable little girl!

Caitlin Avatar

I would wear petticoat as a blush because I’m so fair skinned. It would also look gorgeous with an all natural look, kind of giving a beautiful glow.

Marissa B Avatar

Smoked eyes – maybe leaning gray/brown in tone. With pinkish lips, maybe layer Nymphette on top for extra shimmer.

Petticoat is so pretty, I could wear it everyday for a gorgeous glow!

Hannah Avatar

Since I’m pretty light-skinned, I would probably only use this as a blush.

It looks super pretty from the pictures, I think it would suit me nicely! 🙂

Casey Avatar

I would obv wear it on the cheeks, but I wouldn’t shy away from making an eye look with this! The beige-y colors on the lid, and maybe the gold shimmery cranberry colors in the crease. It might be a little hard to get enough product on the brush, but I still think it’d be GORGEOUS!

Tracie Avatar

id mix it with a clear nail polish dark enough to get a nice color on my nails.. or just a little if i want just a nice pinky bronzy peachy sheen 🙂

Sandy Avatar

I would love to win this MSF! I am new to MAC’s MSF’s. This one has such a lovely veining to it. I would wear it as a blush with minimal eye makeup for the summer. It’s so beautiful! Thanks again for all the information you posted on your website about this lovely In the Groove collection from MAC. Great work for all of our benefit!

regina Avatar

I love the red vein in Petticoat – I’d love to try it as an eyeshadow to see what it does for my green eyes. Would also be lovely as a blush/highlighter with a doe-eyed look. : )

Suzannah Avatar

I would wear petticoat as just an everyday blush! it would be so beautiful to wear with an intense dark dramatic eye or a neutral eye in my opinion!

LittleOne Avatar

I would use the light pink for a cheekbone/browbone highlighter and then sweep some of the dark raspberry on as blush.

Eunice Avatar

ooh. deep metallic blue on the lid, matte navy blue on the crease and matte black on the outer edges for that super hot blue smokey eye. nude lips with that, of course 🙂

joyce Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat by mixing it with Stereo Rose for a more coral – pink color or mix it with By Candlelight for a lighter golden coral highlight OR all over shimmer.

Ashley Avatar

I’d use it as a blush!
I made a deal with fate today. If MAC Petticoat MSF is still in MAC stores here in two weeks time, I’ll buy it!

Cristi Avatar

i would like to use petticoat in many ways. i would use it as a blush, a highlight for my cheeks, and maybe even for a nice smokey eye!

Meheen Avatar

I’d like it lightly as a highlighter, heavier on the cheekbones so it doubles as a blush, and pair it with a simple eye look (probably clinique strawberry fudge duo with winged black liner and mascara) and a bright lip.

Olivia Avatar

i would wear it as a blush or a highlighter…i’m so in love with this msf but unfortunately at my country all sold out…

Jess Avatar

I would wear Petticoat with all different kinds of looks. I think it would look nice with a neutral eye, or even cool eye. I would probably take different colors out of the MSF to use as a shadow, or highlight.

meg Avatar

I would wear Petticoat with a bronze smoked out eye, and would use it both as a highligher and as a blush (i’m very fair). I think it would look fabulous with the deep cut little black dress I’m wearing for a wedding tomorrow, since I’d use it on my shoulders and collarbone as well.

Thanks so much – love the site!

Amanda Avatar

It would depend on the veining of the petticoat…if there was deep raspberry veining, I’d wear it as a blush. If there was less of the raspberry and more gold, I’d wear it as an all-over highlighter with black eyeliner and mascara.

AlyHurtado Avatar

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to wear Petticoat as a blush because I think I would look healthier =) or I would love to use it on my chest and my arms fot a pretty and sexy glow to my skin !!! =)
OMG I´m in love =) I would love to have a chance to buy this MSF but here in my city we don´t have a MAC store =( I´m from Mexico =)
Kisses !!!

Zechariah Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a subtle wash of pink sheen over Ladyblush cremeblush for a truly beautiful duo of summer versatility.

nikki c. Avatar

I’d blend petticoat out to be a nice subtle blush with a neutral eye look because I’m a neutral kind of gal but I usually like one thing to really pop and Id wear this with a more hot, magenta pink lip but not outrageous
just something to spice things up and keep my look interesting:)

Lingping Avatar

I would wear it as a blush (i think that would work well with my light skin) for a gentle, shimmery summer look, with either neutral or dark smoky eyes.

Deebz Avatar

I wear my Petticoat EVERYDAY. I use it on my cheeks as a blusher most of the time, for a night out, I apply it over a pink blush as a highlighter. Looks good in pictures.

PLEASE LEMME WIN BECAUSE MINE HAS HIT PAN 🙁

Petra Avatar

I would wear it as a blush on my fair skin, and would do a light makeup otherwise. Possibly the following (I love heavy eyemakeup, but summer I’m all about looking fresh and glowy :)):
Nanogold eyeshadow (such a pretty colour I can overlook the texture), Teddy eyekhol smuged between upper lashes, some dark brown mascara (MaxFactor False Lash), some brow set gel in GirlBoy (discontinued sob sob*) on eyes, DiorSkin Nude on face (no concealer), Petticoat applied with a 188, and some lightly tinted lipgloss (too many options)

tipsy Avatar

since i am a tan skin tone i would totally wear this as a highlight on my cheeks and also as a highlight for my lids 🙂

Jenny Avatar

I’d have to wear it as a blush since it seems too dark to just be a highlighter for me. I’d wear it with a silvery taupe eye and a neutral pink lip!

Diane Avatar

I have never tried this but have heard it’s praises before so, that being said, I think I would try it as a blush first.

Abbigail Avatar

I would wear this beautiful msf as either a highlight or an eyeshadow!!! I think the mix of pink and bronze would make a great lid color.

Kelly Avatar

How I would wear Petticoat?

Sure, you can use it as a blush: just swirl it on your cheeks, or as a highlighter on your cheekbones; really pretty!
But hey, why not try as an eyeshadow? I think this would look amazing and I would love to try this out!!

Morna Fraser Avatar

I’d do the obvious choice and wear Petticoat as a blush, for a healthy dewy glow as part of a natural-summery look, where the eyes are just a soft gold, and slightly defined.
I would also use it on the eyes for that Romantic, English Rose kind of feel too, placing the light and dark tones in the skinfinish on the corresponding sections of the eye. I might add MAC’s espresso to the crease and a purple/brown gel liner to finish it off.

Halifax Avatar

I never wear a MSF before, can’t say I know how to work Petticoat, but it’s pigmented by the look of swatches, I’d just pair it with neutral eye looks for the summer

Kelli/fromsmithwlove Avatar

I would wear Petticoat like it’s going out of style (even though it never will)! I’m very fair (a smidge lighter than NW15 most of the time) and would probably wear this as a blush (and who needs highlighter when you’ve got that gorgeous shimmer in your blush?).

Novi Avatar

I did a swatch of this msf and on my skin looks quite pale. so i think i’ll be using it mostly for highlighter. it can be used as blush but i’ll need to build the color up a bit. I think it’ll look really nice in day or night time. Maybe throw in some smokeyt eye do for the nite time

Sarah Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a slight cheek highlight with a bold purple smokey eye, or as a blush with a toned down eye with simple liquid liner and bold lashes!

Ariela Avatar

I would use it as a all over face highlighter. From top of cheekbones to the brow bone as well. Also in the inner corner of the eye and in the center and cupid’s bow of the lips.

Abbi Avatar

There are a few ways i would use this:
– i would dust this over my decolletage,
– over a matte blusher,
– highlight the brow bone and upper cheek area,
– as an eyeshadow,
But i would team this with strongly lined eyes and thick lashes.

Stacey-Louise Avatar

As a blush or highlighter with pink lips (semi matte, most likely!), slightly winged eyeliner and neutral eyes. Playing it safe! 😉

On a side note: this contest finishes on my birthday! 😛

Cathy Avatar

I would wear petticoat as a blusher for summer. Simple make up – tinted moisturiser, bit of eyeliner and mascara and petticoat. I would match a pinky coloured lipstick just to finish it all off =D

tpzhearts Avatar

I would wear it as a highlighter for everyday – on top of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, lightly across forehead, and cupids bow.

SilhouetteScreams Avatar

I’d wear it dusted lightly on the cheeks with a pinky nude lipstick, and eye makeup consisting of a light pink with aqua sheen on the lid, almost matte fuchsia in the crease, and a light turquoise on the lower lashline

Gudrun Avatar

I´d like to wear it with a fresh look. some light eyeshadow like mac shroom. Mascara and a clear lip gloss, my current one is Lip Fusion and I don´t like the smell and tase of it.

K7P* Avatar

I would wear this color to the beach to give me a really pretty glow. Since I hardly wear any eye make-up, this would do it for me.

Chantel Avatar

Since I have darker skin i would probably be able to pull off using Petticoat as a blush! If not i’ll highlight with it! =D

Camille Avatar

I would love to wear Petticoat with a really natural rose eye w/ cranberry in the crease and then natural colors on the lid! I would apply it with a 187 brush!

Carla Avatar

I would love to wear this as a blush or a highlighter, it would be great with a smokey eye or with a neutral eye, which is why I would love it.

Lissette Avatar

I would use it in a variety of ways:
-bronzed highlighter for cheekbones
-eyeshadow
-decollate
-on legs to highlight my tan
-on back of my shoulders to accentuate neck and tan
– on lips with vaseline as sheer wash of color

Leanna Avatar

I would use a 138 MAC Tappered brush and tapper it right under my cheekbones and then with MAC 130 brush (not too much), I’ll stipple it on my temple side and along my jawline and then swirl them like I would use a bronzer.
It should look nice and a little bit shimmery

niki Avatar

i would wear petticoat on my cheekbones, on the high arches of my eyebrows, even use it as a shadow, as a t-zone highlighter and def. add it to my nude lipstick to add some shimmer. i love this product, so versatile

Amber B. Avatar

Ahhh! I tried this on in the store yesterday but couldn’t afford it on my trip.

I would wear it on my apples, then lightly as a highligh above my cheek bones, contour my cheeckbones and as an all over sheen on some days 🙂

Such a beautiful color!

Casi Avatar

I would wear it either as a blush on natural days with a natural brown eye or as a highlight with a blush and contour on a night out and maybe a smokey eye and nude lip

Ellery Allison Avatar

Definatley as a blush kind of on top of the cheeks for me, because it does have that shine that I don’t want too close to the nose.
I think it would look awesome as a lid color with just brown winged liquid liner as well.

Camilla Avatar

I would wear it with the simplest of looks, just this as a blush gently brushed and blended over my cheeks to give me a subtle glow then on my eye lids, with a near white matte pink highlighter for the tearduct and a brown or taupe eye liner which is enough for me when I just want to look fresh and natural since I have natural taupe coloured, thick lashes. Add some lipbalm, with a rose tint, and I could face the world wearing it.

Amy Avatar

I’d wear it as a blush! Don’t know what else I can do with it…
It’s looks a little shimmery on me though, so maybe blush + highlighter?

Kathleen Avatar

I would definitely wear it as a blush. I would also love to use it as a lid color because I am OBSESSED with pink eyeshadow.

Shriya Avatar

I would use this primarily as a blush because of the color, but it would also look great as a highlighter! I would pair it with a dark brown, smoky eye for night or a neutral eye for a day look.

charlotte Avatar

I would wear petticoat on my eyes as an eyeshadow or as a highlight along te cheekbone, on the bridge of my nose and maybe on the cupidsbow.
I don’t know how it will show up on my nc40 skintone but maybe i can wear it as a blush too.

Araceli Avatar

Petticoat is such a nice color I swatched it at the store yesterday really nice but I had to buy Stereo Rose. I think this would look really nice though.

Carla Avatar

I would use it for a cheek highlighter most likely. Maybe on the eyelids and/or lips also, or even for a little cleavage highlighting.

alyssa Avatar

Ahhh petticoat, I would wear this as a nice pop of color on the apples of my cheeks, All That Glitters e/s all over the lid, and my new fave technique is placing vanilla pigment along the upper lashline/lid area (I swear this makes for the perfect “fade” and blended effect b/w the 2 colors without blending!). And I think the perfect lipstick would be Brave New Bronze! =)

Lotta Avatar

I’d wear petticoat as a nice, healthy and glowy blush, but I would also try it as an eyeshadow on my lid and a brown eyeshadow in the crease. Love it!!

Radha Avatar

I’d wear petticoat as a blush, highlight on the cheekbones, an all over highlight (with a light hand), and maybe on my decolletage to add a nice shimmer.

Lena N. Avatar

I would use it to highlight/add colour to the whole face, on slightly tanned skin and with warm neutral colours, on the forehead, cheeks, nose, chin to achieve that beautiful warm, rosy, flushed look 🙂

Argentina Avatar

I would wear probably as a blush but really im dying to see what MAC products are all about because I don’t own any

Emma Rolos Avatar

I would wear this as a blush on the apples of my cheeks, then use my dior amber diamond as a higlighter. I would then do a clean and nice cat eye and finish it off with a light peachy pink color!!!

Emily Avatar

This would be my first MSF but I’ve heard so much about them recently. I’d love to try it as a blush. I think it would be perfect for my NW20 complexion! Thanks…

With It Avatar

As many others have said: I’d wear it as a blush/highlighter. I think this would be a good choice for wearing to work: it’s fun for me, but I still have a neutral/basic/professional look. 🙂
Thanks!

Randi Avatar

I’ve never owned an MSF so i’d play around it with, maybe as a blush or to give myself a little all over color! It’d be fun to try something I’ve never used!

Tara Avatar

I would wear it as an eyeshadow, blush, and lip tint! All at the same time :). Then maybe as an all over body sparkle. And mayhaps across the cleavage, as my friend says, they need sparkle luvs too!

Ms. Jimmi Avatar

I would wear it as a nice bronzer or highlighter with a neutral lip and some mascara, a touch of the berry part as blush and eye shadow. At night , I would pair it as a highlighter with a smokey eye and lip glass (clear) on the lips.

Amanda Avatar

Petticoat looks like it has some really nice bronze and gold in it, so I would either get it wet or use a good primer and use it as an eyeshadow. It naturally looks like a nice blush or highlighter too, nice combo of pink and bronze 🙂

Paula Avatar

Depending on what the veining is like, I’d probably get a small brush and use the paler pink portion as a brow bone highlighter and cheekbone highlighter. And use an angled blush brush, swirl into its entirely and put that on the apples of my cheeks.

Sophia Avatar

i would wear it as a highlight or on my skin tone i think it would look nice as a highlight for my eyes or if i get some of the more rasberry veining an all over lid color, not too bam! in your face but still pretty and girly

Sophia Avatar

i would use it as a nighlight or an all over lid color if i got more rasberry veining on my brush so it is not bam! in your face but still girly and pretty

Jacquie Evans Avatar

Temptalia, Please send me the Petticoat MSF so I can dust it lightly on top of my cheeks bones for the perfect glowing look.

Christina Avatar

I REALLY WANT TO WIN THIS BECAUSE I WENT TO BUY IT AND IT WAS SOLD OUT! anyways… i would wear it on the cheeks or as a highlighter

Daniella Avatar

i would wear it as a highlight on my cheeks, brow bone and nose. I would also use it as a suttle blush. and i would put it on my chest or arms for a nice glow when going out 🙂

amelia Avatar

I would wear Petticoat to compliment my normal day routine for work. Because it is a pretty soft pink that flatters most colors I think I can incorporate it into most of my makeup looks.

Cristina Avatar

I would apply a light brush petticoat on top of a pink blush such as “Angelika” by Nars. I would keep the eyes neutral and a soft pink lip.

melissa Avatar

I dont necessarily need to win this…just wanted to say that petticoat has easily become one of my favorites and I am in love with it as much as everyone is with stereo rose! Good luck to whoever wins this… it is such a beautiful color!!!! Mine seems to look much pinker, but it could just be the photo!

Antonia Avatar

I would deff wear this lightly on my cheeks to get that amazing glow finish. I would probably keep the eyes really neutral with just eyeliner and mascara, so that the MSF could have its “own” show 🙂 🙂

Camila Avatar

I would wear Petticoat with a big smile in the face, because it will be my first Mac Product! My eyes should be with neutral colours and a girly pink lipstick on the lips!!

Holly Avatar

Ide wear it with a fun, bright, funky eye look to combat how pretty and femenine it is. Sort of like wearing a studded belt with a floral dress.

Elaine Avatar

I would wear this as a subtle highlight or a light sweep of blush, as i’m really pale.
i think this color would look gorgeous with a navy blue smokey eye!

rebecca Avatar

I would wear petticoat as a blush, a high light and as a bronzer mixed with mac bronzing powder in bronze. I would also dab a little over viva glam gaga for a different bold look.

Patty Avatar

I would definitely wear petticoat on my cheeks as a blush or hightlighter with a small winged out eyeliner and a pop of color on my waterline, blue or purple would be good!

Grace Avatar

I would wear it as a brow highlight, or on top of Posey Cream Blush from MAC with Parfait Amour eyeshadow on the lid, with Pink Venus in the crease, and Jungle Moon in the outer corner with my black track fluid line and some lashes…I could pair it with Petals and Peacocks Lipstick with Gold Dust Lipgloss on top…

Violet Avatar

I want to try this soo bad, I’ve been saving up to buy some of my first ever MAC products this fall, but I sort of had to miss out on the summer collection. 🙁
Anyways I would really like to use this as a blush, highlight, and perhaps a in combination with Revlon’s five star eye moussse in brown suede for a smokey pinky/brown eye look!

karen Avatar

I’m very pale so this would make such a pretty subtle blush! maybe the lighter veining could be used as highlighter but I’d go for a blush with a very girly pink eye 🙂

Glessie Avatar

As a blush with a any neutral eye. Its such a lovely pink 🙂 Kind of reminds me of a much more shimmery, intense Springsheen. I swear its so gorgeous. Love it!!

Jen Avatar

My skin is a little duller than usual now that I’m pregnant. I’d for sure wear this as a blush to bring more life back into my face.

Susi Avatar

I think this would be the ideal everyday-blush for my extremely light skin and I would probably pair it with a smokey eye and nude lips (how very creative, I know xD)

Ali Avatar

I would love this as a blush. I have pale skin so I would apply this to the apples of my cheeks and blend it to a soft colour on my face to add colour

Kelly D. Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a blush, with a neutral eye and pink lips. I have really fair skin and I think it would be really pretty 🙂

Karla Avatar

I’d wear it as a blush or highlighter on my cheeks for a healthy summer glow. I think it would look super cute with honeylust eyeshadow, and bold lashes 🙂

Sylvie Avatar

I’d use the darker veins to do a slight contour, and pick some part of the MSF that has fewer veins to highlight. I think this would go with pretty much every look, especially a purple eye look or a pink lip look.

Ally Avatar

I would wear petticoat with a gold/bronze eye (think mac amber lights and goldmine), use petticoat as blush underneath my cheekbones with a pale pale lip OR use it as and eyeshadow because I love pinks/golds;)

Ruth Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a blush and highlighter to give colour and the nice gold tones would give a nice warm glow. When I’m feeling creative I would combine it with my eye make-up.

Kamila Avatar

I would love to wear petticoat as a blush then with a natural eye look so that the focus was on petticoat! I would also add a nude lipgloss.

Brianne Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat to add a nice sheen on top of another blush. Probably my Stila Fuschia and then sweep Petticoat on my cheekbones over it 😀

Ally Avatar

I would use petticoat as a blush underneath my cheekbones with a gold/bronze eye (think mac amber lights and goldmine) with a pale lip (something like myth l/s) OR I would use it as an eyeshadow because I love pinks/golds;)

Rosalie Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a blush, because it is too dark as a highlight on me (I am reaallly pale :]). If I were doing a look with this, I’d do a gold/neutral-ish eye and pale pink lips similar to the color of the light baby pink part of petticoat, but there are so many looks I would do with this, you could basically wear it with everything!!

Christy Ordonez Avatar

You said it was a raspberry pink, which tells me I can use it anywhere. Eyelid, lightly patted on lips, blusher. Especially for eyes, pink is seriously underrated.

Kitty Avatar

Since the pretty veining in this MSF show up raspberry colored, I would use Petticoat as a blush and pair it with raspberry colored lip gloss!

Lisa Avatar

I would wear this with my revlon soft nude lipstick and mascara to make my cheekbones stand out. i have prominent cheekbones so what’s better them making them stand out even more? 🙂

Natalie Avatar

I’d probably use petticoat as an everyday blush since i’m pretty fair (NW20). Unfortunately, I bought stereo rose on a quick whim when I was at my mac counter only to come home and read your post that stereo rose is better for medium skin tones and petticoat is better for fair skin tones. Bummer!

Christina Avatar

I would wear it as blush and highlight on my cheeks, and use it as an eyeshadow! I LOVE rosy-pink colors on my eyes! BTW I would love to see a pinky-rosey-brown neutral eye from you, Christine! Have you done one yet? 😀

Mayra Avatar

If I had petticoat I would probably either wear it as a highlight or just as a blush, when I swapped this at the mac store I wanted it so bad but only had enough for one thing and I had to get stereo rose, but I totally wanted this too 🙁 I really regret skipping on it!!

MiaHB Avatar

I would use Petticoat MSF very sheer on top of my blush and blend it up towards my cheekbones. I would match it with a soft warm brown smokey eye and soft mauvy pink lips!

Ashley Threadingham Avatar

I would use Petticoat as a highlight on my brow bone and as a blush on my cheeks since I am very fair but would amp up my look with a pop of Illamasqua’s Fume Intense Lipgloss. Sooo pretty!

Holly Avatar

I would use this in my everyday make up. Which is basically just foundation, concealer, mascara, and eyeliner. I’ll add this to the top of my cheeks to highlight anad give it a glow :).

snoopysteph Avatar

Petticoat is probably the one MSF I would love to get my hands on from the new collection – moreso than Stereo Rose! I have a 3 year old and time is of the essence when getting ready in the morning. I can see myself putting on a few swipes of Petticoat, a dash of mascara, and I’m out the door!

Caitlin Avatar

I would wear the MAC Petticoat Mineralize Skinfinish, by wearing it has a light blush because I am pale. I would probabaly even wear it has a highlight! With a neutral eye look and light pink or a step above a nude lip, the MSF would give me a nice warm glow and healty look to my face.

Lena Avatar

I’d love to swirl the pink base and raspberry veining together to create a blush or use the plain pink areas with gold in them as a cheekbone highlight. I’d probably use it most as a highlight, though, because I love pale golden pink highlights.

Laura Avatar

I would wear this every day on my cheeks or all over depending on my mood.
with colorful eyes, smokey eyes, neutral eyes, or with just mascara and chapstick.
whatever! : ) it’s so perdy, can’t go wrong.

Amanda Avatar

Petticoat is gorgeous as a highlighter and blush. I could wear it with so many rose tones and well as some gold, since it has some flickers. It’s beautiful!!

Maggie Avatar

I would wear this with a smokey neutral look on the eyes, and a nude/neutral undertone lipstick. Almost like a Brigitte Bardot look without the dark lipliner. I think that would go rather well together because it’s a sexy but innocent colour.
Almost like a 60’s spy with a black high collared trenchcoat.

Angie Avatar

Petticoat is so pretty. I would wear it with porcelain skin (as porcelain as mine gets) and use it to contour cheekbones for an artisic look inspired by prep a papier. Neutral eyes (cocoa or bronze) with nude lips

Shaye Avatar

I would actually use it how I use my stereo rose MSF. I would use dervish lip pencil, brush a little petticoat on my lips, and top it off with clear gloss.

Amy Avatar

I would wear it as a blush because I’m extremely pale, and just add some brown eyeshadow for a simple everyday look but with Petticoat on, it would have a little pop of colour

Debora Avatar

Beautiful! I would wear Petticoat as a blush & highlighter. I would wear it with a neutral look, with a lot of pink! Soft pink lips and neutral brown eyes 😀

Lauren Avatar

I would wear it on the apples of my cheeks for a nice pinky glow with maybe a dark brown smokey eye to make the whole look very warm and rich!

angie Avatar

if i had petticoat, i would let it take centre stage- i would pair it with a nude lip and a very neutral eye – so that the beautiful blush/highlight would really stand out.

thanks for holding this giveaway 🙂

Britney Avatar

I’d wear petticoat lightly dusted on the apples of my cheeks to give myself a nice healthy glow because I do have fair akin! 🙂

Zariah Avatar

Id wear it with my Concealer, and Mac mineralized skin finish natural, and where it as a Blush, because of its color it looks as if it would look like your wearing a blush and a bronzer in one. (:

Natalie Avatar

I’d wear it with a slate blue/grey eyeshadow. It is definitely a cool toned powder,so I bet it would look amazing with a grey-ish smoky eye. Also, all that shimmer would look amazing on a night out, especially with blue eyes like mine!!! Thanks for the opportunity!

yadira Avatar

i would wear it of course on my cheeks but would get the big buddha brush from urban decay and load it up and brush it all over my body after a tan to i could have a nice gloa to my legs and arms. 🙂

Claire Avatar

I would love to use Petticoat as a highlight. Even over a matte blush too! It would give your cheeks a gorgeous pink shimmer, or if used with the blush, it could give a plain pink just a little bit more edge 🙂

Meg Avatar

I’d wear this on my cheekbones over my regular foundation. Then on my eyes Id do a sultry bronze look using colors like MAC Museum Bronze in the crease, Shroom on the lid and Woodwinked or Tempted in the outer lid. Angel would be the finishing touch!

Kim Avatar

I would wear Petticoat over my bronzer to give my checks a pop of color. I saw the swatches on your site and the color is truly gorgeous!

Brynn Avatar

I would wear petticoat on my cheeks as a blush, even though I will hate touching it because it is so beautiful! That is a great picture.. I love all of the veining WOW! 🙂

Cassie Avatar

I’ll probably wear it with a smokey gray eyeshadow and a nude lip. My skin is really light so the color would brighten up my face a lot!

Kenny Avatar

I would wear Petticoat on a very natural face. Flawless foundation, no eye makeup, black mascara, and only Rosebud Salve on my lips. Simple, yes, but that is the look I adore.

Hillary Avatar

I would use petticoat as a blush for a slight pop of color with a bit of a glow or for a highlight to make my face stand out. Maybe I could experiment and find other uses as well.

Shelley Avatar

Depending on how much dark veining the compact had versus light, I might try to do an entire face with just that product. I’d used the darkest color veining for contour on the face, the midtones for blush, the light tones for highlights. I would then try the same product on my eyes using brushes sprayed with fix+ or by scraping some off the product into a small container and mixing it with mixing medium, gloss or matte to see what effect each of those bases did to the product. For the lips I’d mix it with Gloss.

Ana Avatar

I would definitely wear the MAC Petticoat as a highlighter on my cheeks before/after blush/bronzer application. I have thought of wearing it with my Bare Escentuals makeup, with the Mineral Veil, as an all over glow. The all over glow would also go well as a way to set my liquid foundation. I could even wear Petticoat with Fix + as an eye shadow 🙂
Thank you for this giveaway!
p.s. Any suggestions about how to wear any Mineralize Skin Finish?

Carolina Avatar

Grey kohl lined lower lashline, nude lipgloss, ultrafuschia glossy eyeliner upper lashline and petticoat on highest part of cheekbones!

Shelesea Avatar

I would wear the Petticoat MSF in the following ways:
– As a blush.
– As a highlight on my cheek bones as well as on my brow bone.
– I would pair it with a smokey eye.

ter Avatar

I’d wear it as a blush. But I also would wear it as a highlighter…cheeks, temples, down the bridge of my nose, cupids bow or even on mydecolettege or shoulders!

Margarett Avatar

I would Petticoat as a blush. I would want the look to have flushed cheek appearance like on a cold windy day. Then I would do a vanilla and cork e/s look with chocolate brown gel eyeliner. Simple and classic.

Katie Avatar

On the cheeks, I’d wear Petticoat alone (without a highlighter since it’s an MSF). Because it’s pretty pigmented, I’d keep the eyes low key with Naked pigment and Orb as a highlight, then add liquid liner (of course). For lips, I’d do Subculture lip liner with Viva Glam Gaga (Subculture tones down Gaga a lot so it won’t clash with Petticoat).

Elena Avatar

i’d wear petticoat as a blush, as an eyeshadow and i also like to put my msf’s in my lips and top it with a non-sticky sheer gloss! i think it looks amazing

Chanelle Avatar

I’d pick this as a highlighter or blush for a glowy, summer look. I think it would even look pretty on the lids used with a dense brush, or under the browbone. I could also place it on my cupid’s bow or even take a bit with my finger and dab it in the center of my lips after applying lipstick for a full, pouty look!

Ray Avatar

I would swirl it together in order to wear it as a blush, or use just the lighter parts as a highlighter for my cheekbones. I wouldn’t mind experimenting and seeing how it would look as an eyeshadow as well!

Michelle Avatar

i’d wear petticoat as a blush with a bold eye. second way i would use it is as an all over wash of color on my lids if i were in a hurry.

Andy Avatar

With something light and natural on a slow, comfy school day. Probably a natural eye, some baby pink gloss, light pink cheeks, and Petticoat just on the tops of my cheeks.

Lauren Avatar

I’d definitely use this to give a youthful flush and glow to my cheeks, paired with a light pink gloss and perhaps a subtle gold and brown smoky eye

Kayla Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a blush since I’m pale. I would probably pair it with a neutral eye for days when I want a more natural look!

Shannon Avatar

I would wear it with a grin on my face, a twinkle in my eye and a shy, cute blushing cheek 😉 Would be awesome to win! good luck everyone

H. Lee Avatar

I probably won’t wear Petticoat along on my cheeks because I can’t pull off a pigmented cheek look. My mom would probably love it on her cheeks. I’d give it to her if I win this.

Isabel Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a blush with smokey eye with lots of black eyeliner, falsies and a nude-pinky lipstick.
Would also wear day-to-day as a highlighter on top of cheeks, to give that ‘oomph’ to the looks.

LEHUA Avatar

i’ve never swatched this product but i would use it as a blush, i’m kind of medium to dark skin tone, so i think it would look perfect as a blush 🙂

Clara Avatar

I’d use the lighter part of the Petticoat for highlight and the more pigmented part as a blush. I’d wear it with a matte eye look, possibly a purple/pink smokey eye 🙂

Beth Avatar

I’d wear this with a daytime smokey eye created from the UD Naked palette and some light Smashbox lip gloss. I think it is absolutely beautiful.

Candice Avatar

I’d probably wear petticoat with the usual pin up look pretty natural nudy eyes with petticoat on the cheeks with a bright red or reddish orange lip

Jenny Avatar

I would use petticoat to highlight the top of my cheeks picking up from the less veiny areas and would wear it with a black and pink smokey eye using the raspberry veiny parts to pop into my crease as a transition colour.

Ann Marie Avatar

Oddly, I use petticoat as a highlighter but I also use the darker, sparkly veins as a gorgeous eyeshadow! I do this with almost all my MSF’s because it makes a perfect match for a quick, on-the-go look!

Shenequa "Nikki" Honablew Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a eyeshadow on my lid and blend Hepcat in the crease for a sultry smokey pinkie look 🙂

Danielle Alvarado Avatar

I would wear it as a highlighter. I have medium skin, and I don’t think this would wear as a blush. As a highlighter I would place it on top of my cheekbones, forehead, cupid’s bow and brow bone. I imagine this would make a really gorgeous e/s too!!

mary Avatar

i’d wear petticoat on the cheeks as a blush with coral crepe paint pot on the lid, twinks in the crease and carbon in the outer v. follow it up with creme d’nude on the lips

Grace Avatar

Hi temptalia! this is my entry for the contest to win mac petticoat msf. i would wear petticoat on my cheekbones as a nice glowing pink with a little shimmer. i love shimmer and glowing colors for cheeks! thank you!

-grace

Sharon Avatar

I think Petticoat is a great highlight for my skin, My skin is pretty pale and i really love the velvet glitter on it. It’ll make my skin more glowing and a bit more red!

galicianoctopusgirl Avatar

the best part of my weekend is on Saturday when you go shopping (especially now with discounts lol) or go to the beach to play volleyball:) it’s my passion!

greetings from galicia, VIVA octopus paul! 😀

galicianoctopusgirl Avatar

I think this blush can be used for different things. this color has many uses so can therefore be used as blush as highlighter for various areas (nose, over the cheeks, chin…) and even to use the whole face as a bronzer if you have fair skin. it is my opinion: )

Mei Ki Avatar

depending on how much of the red veiny raspberry color on top is used, the color can differ, so it can be used many different ways.
On an everyday aspect i think i would use it as a blush on my cheeks, but if i wanted a do-ier look, i would use it as a finishing touch (like a highlight)on my face!

Rachel Harris Avatar

I would wear/use petticoat as a blush (apple of cheeks), a highlight (along the top of cheekbones), as a crease color with malt eyeshadow on lid or another light matte color. I also would use it on shoulders & chest for a soft glow when needed.
Thanks!!

maxine Avatar

apples of the cheeks paired with neutral eyes. don’t want to distract from petticoat’s prettiness by splashing colours all over my face. it has to stand out!

Sydney Avatar

Depending on the look I’m going for. If I’m doing a dramatic eye look I’d use Petticoat as a blush. And if I’m doing a natural look I’d use it as a highlight.

luckyb Avatar

i would use this as a blush i have a tanned skin. probably use this with a simple neutral look.it would just give me a wonderful flush to my face.

lovesmakeup Avatar

I would wear Petticoat as a highlighter on my cheek bones, as well as on the apples of my cheeks as long as I used a light hand. I would also try it on my eyes on days when I need to get ready in a hurry as I use my other MSFs this way and they work great.

Rabia Avatar

O!! o!! i want petticoat!
MAC is Hard to get where i live! it would be a miracle if i get my hands on some limited edition stuff!!

i would wear it EVERYWHERE 🙂 and ALL THE TIME…. skinfinishes are my new love after trying out a friends!! and Petticoat is FAB!
the capslock CANNOT express my excitement! for a limited edition skinfinish even if i have a one in a ten-thousand chance.

alina Avatar

i would wear petticoat on my cheekbones for a nice glow and maybe as an eyeshadow, ive never had an msf so i dont really know how shimmery these are!

Denise Avatar

I’d wear it on my cheeks for a nice glow. It’s probably fairly shimmery, so I’d keep the eyes matte, maybe a soft and subtle smokey brown, and for the lips… coral!

Erin Avatar

This looks like something really elegant and girly so I would probably wear it with a neutral eye, winged liner, extremely full lashes, and a berry stained lip! 🙂

<3

Kathy Avatar

I’ve never purchased a MSF and would love to win Petticoat so that I can give them a try!
Thanks Christine – I follow you everyday – several times a day!

Martina Avatar

I’d wear it as a blush on my cheeks with a very simple nude eye and baby pink lips!!! I think it would be a perfect look for summer!

thanks for this opportunity

xoxo Martina

Donna Avatar

I love Petticoat so much, that I have two of it. The first one is really pinky and add a lot of color, so I use it instead of blush. The second one is more shimmery so I use it as a highlighter on cheeks, body and under the eyebrows! Petticoat is one of my favourite MSFs, so I can´t have enough of it :o)

Nicole Avatar

I have warm brown skin so it would probably be too sheer as a blush for me…but I’d definitely rock it as a highlighter! I’m new to your blog and I LOVE IT. I visit everyday! Keep up the good work.

Lisa Avatar

I’m super pale, sickly almost 😛 So I need to wear blush on a regular basis just to look alive. Petticoat MSF looks like it would be the perfect color blush for me!

Victoria D Avatar

I would wear this with expensive pink (MAC) eyeshadow all over my lid, brown smokey liner, and mascara. Top it off with Petticoat MSF!

Simy Avatar

I would wear MAC petticoat MSF by using a duo-fibre brush applying onto the apples of my cheeks and bridge of nose~
I would also wear this as a shadow base!!!

Jamie Avatar

I don’t like to wear blush so I use MSF or bronzer every day in place of blush. I’ve wanted this color forever and was too broke to get it. Good luck to every one, thanks Christine!

Rebecca Avatar

Oh gosh.. We didn’t get Petticoat in Austria. 🙁

Hm.. for this hot summer days..

I would wear it on my eyes with Fix+ all over the lid and in the crease a slightly darker eyeshadow.
Loads of mascara. 🙂
On the apples of my cheeks more intense to get a doll look.
On the Lips sth neutral. 🙂 Creme d’nude would be nice. ^.^

Lexus thomas Avatar

I would use it as an allover powder when i dont want to wear foundation, or maybe to set my foundation ! thanks good luck ladies ! ! !

Ariel Avatar

Nice color MSF. I’d wear this as a blush, and as a highlighter to give me a subtle glow 🙂 Also a little bit on my temple on nose.

Reminds me of Light Flush MSF which I love.

telle Avatar

i would wear it anytime i was looking a little pale (which is almost always) for a little bit of colored flush, giving me an ‘I’m alive’ look! 🙂

lyzzette h Avatar

I JUST WENT TO THE MAC COUNTER AND TRIED THIS I LOVE IT!! I WILL GO IN AND BUY IT SOON !! UNLESS I WIN IT HERE 😉

I WOULD WEAR IT AS A BLUSH, EYESHADOW! HIGHLIGHTER I LOVED IT SOO VERSATILE

Eva Avatar

This is soooo pretty. It would break my heart to just swirl it around, lol. I’d wear this as a highlighter for my cheekbones or maybe as eyeshadow.

Wendy Shih Avatar

I’d wear Petticoat as a highlighter or a blush when I’m have dark, smokey eye makeup on. Also as a highlighter on my chest and arm/leg joints to add glow and dimension.

Elise Patyn Avatar

The petticoat with the more pink/raspberry side I would wear on my cheeks, and the more brown neutral colour I would wear on my eyes and possibly blend it with other shadows in my crease.

Inês Avatar

How would I wear Petticoat?! Well, I really want Petticoat. I fall in love with it! I think taht it would look BEAUTIFUL on the cheecks with a natural/monocromatic look or use it as an eyeshadow for a very romantic look!

Alejandra Huerta Avatar

I would love to wear Petticoat with everything !!! Hehehe… With a smokey eye, or with a natural look, maybe just mascara and Petticoat to look healthier and pretty !!! I would love to wear it every day hehe =)

Briana Avatar

I have never owned an MSF from MAC but I have always seen them and adored them! I would love to have this one, it’s gorgeous! If I had this, I would wear it as a blush, highlight on my cheeks, brow bone, cupid’s bow, down the nose, chin..anywhere 🙂 and as an eyeshadow. I think it would be perfect for achieving that fresh, glowy, healthy look!

Abby Avatar

I’m pretty fair, so I’d use petticoat as a blush. Probably for something warm, but still clean, with a darker eye and neutral lip.

Lauren C Avatar

I would wear this MSF with anything pink, of course. 🙂 But since we’re coming into fall, I would probably try and wear it with a cranberry colored look. I think it would really compliment the darker tones in this.

Madeleine Avatar

I would wear it has a blush or highlight and i would probably wear it with gold eyes because there are little flecks of gold in the product.

deborah s Avatar

i also think it would look great with smokey eyes and a my brave and bronze l/s. i think its called that, its a nude lipstick

Stephanie C. Avatar

I would wear Petticoat mixed with Comfort MSF (since I wasn’t able to pick up Stereo Rose ::cries::)…. as you recommended, Christine. 🙂

bhei Avatar

would really love to wear this as a blush on , with a gold and brown smokey eyes eye make up and a light pink color of lipstick…
