IT Cosmetics CC Cream (the original), Urban Decay Naked Loose Powder, Kevyn Aucoin Starlight or Tom Ford Love Lust on cheeks; filled in brows, mascara, teal eyeliner, and Guerlain Gillian lipstick.
Thanks to Raeanne for today’s question! Do you have a question idea? Submit yours here.
I love how you have teal eyeliner in your “no makeup” makeup look! 🙂
Glad to see you are a fan of the original IT CC cream as well ! Here’s mine – Dr. Jart BB Cream, Laura Mercier Loose Powder, Anastasia Dipbrow on brows, Surrat Blush in La Vie En Rose (thanks for the review – so natural looking!) , and NYX Extra Creamy Round lipstick in B52 (MLBB color)
“no-makeup makeup” lol don’t think I’ve ever done that 🙂
I wear taupe eye shadow on occasion but I still go pretty hard with smudged, dark liner and bold lipstick.
No makeup
Same. I love makeup, but I wear none less than I wear some.
NARS Luminous Weightless Foundation, Paula’s Choice SPF powder, NARS orgasm or Maybelline Master Hi Light in Deep Bronze, lower lashline lined in a dark neutral, mascara, and Nivea Cherry Tinted Lip Balm. Perhaps some bronzer if I need some dimension.
The Body Shop Wonderblur Primer, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (some days I do foundation first, some days concealer first), Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder OR Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder, Tarte Blush in Exposed, a sheer wash of something neutral like MAC Naked Lunch, Satin Taupe and/or Omega, or something from one of the Naked Basics palettes over my lids to hide veins (I am a ghost), mascara, MAC Brave lipstick or just lip balm.
Givenchy PhotoPerfexion SPF 20 foundation
Hourglass Diffused Light as a highlighter under eyes, above cheekbones, down nose
MAC Warm Soul blush
Lip balm
eyelash curler
Estee Lauder Daywear BB Cream SPF35, Revlon PhotoReady Two Way Powder Foundation along the t-zone, a light dash of Clinique Peach Pop blush; Lights Camera Lashes mascara; brows filled in along the ends with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz; Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Colour in Soft Coral with Maybelline’s Baby Lips on top after blotting.
“No makeup makeup” looks aren’t really my thing, so I rarely do them. I basically just modify my “super-hot weather anti-melt” routine to not include bright colors.
First moisturizer, then sunblock. BareMinerals Original Foundation in Fair and Mineral Veil in Illuminating. BareMinerals Rose Radiance on cheeks, bridge of nose, hairline, and chin. Single shade of shimmery nude shadow on entire eye from lashline to brow. Comb the brows. Black mascara. Instead of a bright lip, I’d go with a MLBB shade such as UD Sheer Rapture, Nyx Butter Lipstick in Pops, or e.l.f. Studio Matte Lip Color in Tearose.
My real no-makeup makeup look is just no makeup, haha. But my somewhat no-makeup makeup look is just some mascara, concealer, touched up brows, some powder and a lil’ bit of highlighter and contour if I’m feeling fancy.
I’m the same way. No makeup to me is sunblock and lip balm.
But if I want to something simple it’s tinted moisturizer, mascara, mabye some bronzer, eyebrows and tinted lip balm.
Actually I’m wearing it today 🙂 Urban Decau Rift on the eyes with just a bit of eyeliner and mascara, UD Indecent on the cheeks, no foundation, and clear lip balm.
I love how your no-makeup makeup includes teal eyeliner. 🙂
Mine would be: Bobbi Brown Colour Corrector, Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Hourglass ALP in Diffused Light, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, UD Naked Basics and Eyeliner in Perversion (both liquid and pencil, but sparingly), Benefit They’re Real Mascara.
Couldn’t decide on a lip colour. Maybe Clinique Curviest Caramel – it’s the closest I have to my natural lip colour.
Missha BB cream, armani corrector concealer, liner, bodyshop cheek lip stain tada!
Chanel CC Cream, MAC Soba Eyeshadow, NYC CityProof Mascara, Wet’n’Wild Pink Suga Lipstick as a cream blush, MAC Cherish Lipstick on lips.
Let’s see, Shu Uemura light bulb (used sparingly), Givenchy’s invisible powder, Guerlain’s blush Pink Punk, mascara (Rimmel’s retro glam), maybe cake eyeliner and something on the lips like finger-applied -whatever. I’ll just add two more things when I’m for a full face: I fill the tails of the brows lightly and put some wings with liquid eyeliner. Or put a gold cream eyeshadow. Too boring, I’m always in a rush.
I love Burberry Pale Barley or Taupe Brown (The Burberry sheer eyeshadow formula is my favorite!), Estee Lauder Projectionist mascara (for pretty, cleanly defined dark lashes), a little black eyeliner (I don’t quite have an HG yet), Estee Lauder’s old automatic brow pencil, Guerlain Wulong powder, and the unfortunately discontinued Shisedo The Makeup Shimmering Lipstick in SL4 as my blush and lipstick – it’s the ultimate in glowy, flattering, flushed, pink-but-warm, glowing-but-not-shimmery lip and cheek color.
Nice (and reassuring) to see that you love IT’s CC cream too. My “no makeup look” is usually either the IT or Marcelle CC Cream, IT Concealer under my eyes (though the new Illuminating CC cream covers really well, to my surprise), MAC Painterly with something like TooFaced Heaven, Stila Chinois or Starlight or UD Righteous patted on top, Sephora Cappucino pencil to line, IT’s Love CC+ Cheek Stain for blush and their Love Lip Serum (it’s a gloss) on my lips. I don’t usually do anything to my brows.
Half of a pump of any foundation mixed with moisturizer applied with Sephora Pro brush 53. By Terry concealer, under my eyes! Applied withRT Expert Face brush. Any eyeshadow a couple of shades darker than my skin just to define the crease. Mascara only on the roots of my lashes. Maybelline Brow Drama, to define the brows. Cover FX Illuminating powder to set concealer and around my nose. Burberry Earthy on my cheeks and a tad of Guerlain Air Kiss applied with fingers, or any soft plum shade to match my own lip color.
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream, Airspun powder, dab of peach concealer for undereye, brows filled in with the Rimmel hazel pencil, UD Perversion mascara, Clinique Cheek Pop in Nude Pop, and Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Honey.
Mac foundation, Mac Sincere blush or Clinique Nude Pop blush, Mac Cork eye shadow, Clinique lipstick in Tenderheart or Nude Beach.
Tight-line with a kohl pencil, curl lashes, Tarte Gifted mascara, Milani Luminoso blush, clear brow gel, Revlon Balm Stain in Honey and the Vanilla shade, from Smashbox On the Rocks smaller palette, on the browbone.
Catrice Camouflage concealer, Essence matte powder, Isadora brow pencil for brows and lower lash line, Essence Get Big mascara, Sleek bronzer from the Face Form, and MAC Velvet Teddy! Of course, some days I feel like looking flawless but still natural, and use foundation, blush and highlighter as well.
Black Radiance BB Cream, Black Radiance Soft Focus Powder, Tarte Amazonian Clay Concealer and maybe a highlight. Of course, I fill in my brows, add a little eyeliner and natural falsies too.
Christine, I’m on a constant quest for a MLBB lipstick — I have lots that are almost right, but not quite. Guerlain Gillian looks as if it would be worth checking out, based on your review from awhile back, and I might even be willing to try to get past the sticker shock of its price. However, I can’t find it anywhere on-line. Is it discontinued?
It was LE!
MY NO MAKEUP, MAKEUP LOOK BEGINS W/ IT COSMETICS CC CREAM AND URBAN DECAY LOOSE POWDER TOO! Even though I have a lot of makeup for a regular CHICK, I’m glad to know that I use the same thing as someone who has tried as many different things as u….it honestly tells me I’m right for having that as my HG no makeup (and light makeup) days!!!!
😀 Christine.. “Teal liner for those no makeup days..” LOVE 🙂
Hmm.. I’m assuming that this is for a look made by makeup, so I can’t say not wearing any makeup is my no makeup look.. So, KGD Moisture Maifanshi or By Terry foundations, both finish like skin, as well does CdP.. Like Korean BBs I have but they match my cool tone better, mascara that just deepens the color of my lashes w/o making them showgirl-esque, lip balm, and a dab of whatever blush! 😀 oh, and I do set with NARS’ translucent crystal loose powder! ( Eyes have plenty of color naturally, lips deeply pigmented, long curled lashes naturally) It more about evening out any pigmentation in skin and just very lightly & subtly enhancing what I have using the least bit of makeup possible. 😀
I forgot I use MJB Brow groomer on no makeup makeup days! 😀
BB cream, MAC translucent powder, Maybelline mascara, Essence eyebrow powder, blush, red lipstick.
No makeup whatsoever lol! Just kidding. If I’m going for a “no makeup” look but I don’t want to wear nothing at all, I’ll at least do my brows. My brows are just naturally so sparse and hard to see the shape that I like to fill those in. I also am always wearing at least lip balm, so that’s what I’d wear if I’m not trying to look “made up”.
no makeup 🙂
Laura Mercier powder, Hourglass bronzer, light neutral blush like NARS Luster, Laura Mercier brow pomade, Laura Mercier Caviar stick in Amethyst. Nothing on the lips.
Literally, no makeup. However, if I just want to look “polished”, I go with a “Western” BB Cream/TM, MPF, mascara, tinted lip balm, bronzer & highlighter. I will sometimes throw on a MAC Paint Pot or Maybelline Color Tattoo in a pale, neutral shade on the lid, and Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough As Taupe in the crease. Finally, I fill in my brows, and typically forgo liner.
Origins Vitazing SPF 15 sheer tint , concealer, powder where needed, cream blush, liquid or cream highlighter, curl lashes, brows always. If my eyes are puffy, I will contour with a contour in my crease and around the lash line. If I am actually going somewhere a little important, I will wear lash primer and mascara.
oh..lip balm or gloss, or a sheer lipstick
TM over already moisturized skin (I currently have NARS but it’s not my favorite because it’s not as buildable as my previous Stila TM. The finish on it is impeccably natural looking though.), tinted brow gel, possibly concealer (HG is MUFE Full Cover). This will actually look like no makeup, but doesn’t look as polished as adding in mascara and maybe some blush and a sheer lip. I would add Becca Beach Tint in Watermelon to cheeks and lips if I wanted to play up that effortlessly pretty look a little bit, but to the trained eye it would be more obvious that I had a little something on. On my last vacation I wore all of the above plus Becca cream highlighter in Pearl and a hint of Anastasia brow duo in medium brown, it photographed really nicely and did create the illusion in pictures that I am low maintenance. haha 😛
I seldom do a no makeup look as I don’t really see the point, but I admit there are times when I want something no fuss but still a better version of me 🙂 I love Guerlain’s Météorites primer Les Ors (LE from 2013 and glad I bought a back up!) with a dusting of Les Beiges #10 over all. I apply a neutral shadow and tightline with black then swipe on a bit of black mascara. My brows are fairly thick and black so I just comb them in place. My cheeks are naturally rosey so I don’t bother with blusher. My lips are also rosey and so I don’t do much other than use a bit of tinted balm on them.
Bobbi Brown Skin foundation and then set it with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose powder,Charlotte Tilbury Rock n Kohl Eye Pencil in Barbarella Brown and filled in my brows with Anastasia Brow Powder Duo(powder make everything look softer),Hourglass Ambient Blush in Lumious Flush,YSL RV lipstick in Corial Jalouse! 🙂
Touched up brows, pink highlight pencil under arch, neutral shades on lid and in crease (last look was Burberry Pale Barley on lid and Mulberry in crease), black mascara, a few concealers here and there (under eyes, around and under nostrils and above top lip, and bit on rosacea areas of cheeks), cream blush and lipstick. Lipstick is sometimes bolder or brighter, depending on my mood.
bareMinerals BB Cream Eyeshadow in Candlelit Peach on the lids, one coat of mascara, concealer (Dior BB or theBalm TimeBalm), Clinique Almost Makeup to even out skin tone, a peachy blush (I have several choices, from Clinique Peach to Nars Orgasm), and a Clarins Instant Lip Perfector.
UD Naked Skin BB Cream (Light), UD Rapture lipstick, one coat of Hourglass Film Noir mascara.
– Giorgio Armani CC cream #2. If my skin is in great condition that day, I would go with Algenist Sunscreen Spf 50 and dust on Marc Jacobs’ pressed foundation lightly just as finishing powder.
– Maybeline BrowMascara to fill in brows.
– I always curl my eyelashes and do one or two coats of mascara, unless I’m going to the gym, then i’ll skip this.
– Bite Beauty BB for lips in Flush.
– golden brown or black eyeliner. ColourPoP Trickery for cheeks, lightly applied.
I don’t understand the concept of a ‘no makeup’ look but maybe it’s my generation. : ) I wear makeup so that I don’t look dull and lifeless and a ‘mo makeup’ look would mean I would look dull and lifeless LOL
“no” not “mo”
Concealer, usually some Becca blush, some NYX highlighter, Becca Opal (poured) on my eyes as shadow, Nars Callisto in the inner corners of my eyes, and half a ton of mascara (L’oreal Miss Manga topped with Urban Decay Perversion). Then some neutral lip color, like Milani Rose Femme. Only a half a dozen products to make me look natural (Ha-ha.)
RCMA KA palette, Hourglass diffuse powder, Nars Montego bay lippie, Dior Extase mascara in brown, Nars Matte Multiple in Anguilla
I don’t have one. I’m either all in or I don’t bother.
Yes!
It’ll have to be body shop’s black gel liner while wearing coloured contact lenses , Mac shimpagne as eyeshadow, and loose powder over moisturiser on the face. Pretty simple but it does the trick!
I either wear makeup or don’t. On no makeup days, I do use moisturizer and sunscreen and a clear lip balm with SPF.
a swish of powder bronzer, mascara, clear lip gloss
IT CC cream
Vera Wang illuminating powder
Clinique Nude Rose Touch Base for eyes
Black eyeliner
Mascara
One of my many pink lip glosses
Ok, here’s my current everyday look since I prefer something really light in warm weather.
1. After moisturiser I apply sunscreen, 365 days a year. I use La Roche Posay Antihelios XL 50+ Gel-Crème. It sets to a matte finish and really keeps my skin shine-free, which is pretty great for my oily skin.
2. I use the Missha M Signature Real Complete BB Cream in #13 Light Milk Beige all over, concentrating on the middle of my face. If necessary I’ll use a high coverage concealer to cover up any blemishes. I like the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Fair.
3. Next up is blush. I change it up everyday. I tend to stick to powder blushes for no other reason than they are quicker for me to apply. I like something with a little luminosity. One example is Clinique’s Pop Blush in Pink Pop for something fresh. As much as I love highlighter I skip it for a no make up look unless I use a matte blush, and even then I’d use something very subtle such as Bare Minerals Clear Radiance. For a true no makeup look I’d use the new Bourjois Aqua Blush 12hr in 03 Pink Twice. It looks so natural and seamless on the skin.
4. With my base done I move on to eyes. I use a neutralizing eye primer such as the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. Over that I’ll use a wash of something pale with light shimmer. I like Urban Decay Sin, MAC Retrospeck and the peach shade from the Suqqu Kozuecha quad. After that I apply a thin line of black or brown pencil eyeliner (Estée Lauder Double Wear double-ended pencil in Onyx/Coffee is a staple product) on my top lid, which I soften a bit with a pencil brush. Lastly I’ll apply one coat of mascara, which is almost always L’Oréal Voluminous in Carbon Black. I save Lancôme’s Grandiôse mascara for special occasions. Over the top I put on Clarins Double Fix’ mascara to avoid panda eyes!
5. Brows. It’s always Anastasia Brow Wiz in Ebony. I only fill in the gaps and brush through my brows.
6. Finally, for lips it changes everyday. However, for a no makeuop look I like using Dior Lip Glow for a healthy flushed lip look.
7. I set it all with Urban Decay De-Slick setting spray.
Done! Sorry about the length. I was seriously bored. :Do
I don’t really do a no makeup look – with my very fair skin it would look awful.
Nude by nature primer
Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in light porcelain
NYX sunkissed blush palette
Eye brow pencil in light brown, mascara
Light grey eye shadow
Ginger kiss lipstick by Elizabeth Arden – that’s as no-makeup as it gets.
I love your inclusion of teal eyeliner Christine.
Garnier BB cream or Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, Urban Decay concealer under eyes, mascara, Benefit Gimme Brow, Too Faced Sun Bunny Bronzer, and a pinky coral blush such as MAC Cream Soda or Clinique Peach Pop. Takes about 10 minutes and I’m out the door.
maybelline dream fresh bb cream
Clinique line smoothing concealer
Loose powder
clinique precious posy+mac soft gentle applied very loosely on cheeks
mascara
And a mlbb lipstick (probably mac twig/mac whirl lip liner or nars audacious in anita)
… but sometimes my no makeup-makeup look is actually no makeup.
Usually it’s just not wearing makeup. But I have a sort of no-make up/minimal makeup look. Dr. Jart BB Cream, Guerlain Meteorites, a fairly sheer application of matte or satin peach colored blush, BareMinerals 5-in-1 BB cream eyeshadow in Blushing Pink, mascara, my brows lightly filled in, and some sort of subdued MLBB tinted lip balm..
I just do not do bright colors and extremely rarely go out of the house without makeup on, so I think I can chip in here. Also, this is what I was wearing when a girl at a store told me I was not wearing makeup 🙂 Disclamer: I myself do not consider myself skilled enough to say that I can do no-makeup makeup look (I mean the one you cannot detect at all), so, this is just my example of what I think looks the most natural on me.
Face: MUFE Liquid Lift foundation in 10, MAC blush in Warm Soul, MAC Pro Longwear concealer in NC15 (undereyes), MAC MSFN in Light Plus for setting, a touch of MAC bronzer in Golden (where the sun might hit you:) ) and MAC Colorbase in Pearl for a subtle highlight.
Eyes: MAC paint in Bare Canvas as a base, MAC Naked Lunch on the lid and Soba in the crease, MAC eyeliner in Teddy and MAC Zoom mascara in Lofty Brown.
Lips: MAC Hue with MAC lip pencil in Subculture.
So, I would never call it a no-makeup look, but it does look kinda neutral.
IT cosmetics CC cream, Maybelline “eraser” undereye concealer, Physycians Formula blush in Natural, Airspun powder, Clinique mascara, and one of my many MLBB lipsticks. This is the look I do when going somewhere like the beach. I almost always use eyeshadow and eyeliner otherwise.
The only look I have lately… Rosaliac CC, Stay Matte powder and Lash Sensational mascara.
Concealer, mineral powder foundation, Elisabeth Arden brow powder, GOSH brow gel, some blush, eyelash curler, Loreal miss Manga mascara, lipstick and Skindinavia makeup setting spray.
Just moisturizer, sunblock and chapstick and nothing else.
MAC studio finish concealer (NC15), Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser (alabaster tint) , MAC mineralise skin finish natural (light), Ben Nye blush (natural blush), Benefit gimme brow (light/medium), MAC paintpot (painterly), any old black mascara.
Chanel Vitalumière aqua, a blush (one of a hundred! whatever matches-ish cool or warm toned, or what I’m feeling like that day!), curl eyelashes, Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder (Dim & Diffused are my faves), then mascara & spritz my face with a mist.
Oh I forgot Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener and Chanel concealer! 🙂
it’s all kind of wonderful that you have a teal eyeliner in that list
face
mufe step 1 primer to smooth things out and burberry fresh glow for that my skin but better look
nars tinted moisturizer / chanel vitalumiere aqua, both of which have lovely coverage without making your face look flat
ysl touche eclat in #2 and ellis faas concealer #s203 to conceal and highlight
chanel soleil tan de chanel to lightly contour and burberry earthy to set it off
laura mercier translucent powder
skip the highlighter
eyes

urban decay perversion eyeliner because i cannot do without
mac painterly paint pot with urban decay naked eyeshadow in the crease
brows
hourglass arch brows in soft brunette and suqqu eyebrow pencil #1
lips
mac dervish with mac creme cup or a sheer nude lipstick
I don’t really do ‘no makeup makeup’ but my go-to ‘lazy face’ is just: (well first I start out with a good primer and eye cream because I mostly do this look on days when I’m a little hungover #noshame lol)
concealer, powder, mascara, Black liner in the waterline + tightline, light blush, tinted brow gel, and a sheer lipstick.
Blush varies by season, but mostly it is Josie Maran Argan Tinted Moisturizer; L’Oreal True Match concealer if I have any zits or dark marks; Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener under my eyes; filled in brows; mascara; Benefit Dallas as bronzer and blush; and Buxom Pink Lady gloss.
i usually go h.a.m with my bronzer, add a bit of highlighter, curl my lashes and add some mascara.
oh and brows. i have pretty much non-existent brows if i don’t fill them in!
Under eye concealer, Chanel Revelation #63 cream blush,or Korres Natural #15 blush, mascara, lip pencil as lip color
Wait, Teal liner in a no makeup makeup look?
One light layer of foundation or tinted moisturizer, L’Oreal Iced Latte, One coat of mascara, and either Fresh Berry Lip Balm/BurtsBees Rasin Lip Balm/Revlon SugarPlum/Lipstick Queen Medieval… those lippies depend on the time of year and what I’m wearing. Also, by how flushed my cheeks are from Rosacea. I come with my own blush so I rarely need any.
Agreed about the real liner. But iced latte is pretty shimmery for a no makeup look.
I do this all the time. So easy for work.
