What's your minimal makeup look?

What’s your minimal makeup look? Janie’s going on a cruise and wants to look good pool-side without a lot makeup, so help her out! 🙂

For me, a really minimal look would be filling in brows, natural-looking mascara (I’d opt for Bare Escentuals Buxom, which lengthens and defines for me), and some gloss. Depending on the situation, I might also wear tinted moisturizer.

Thanks to Janie for today’s question! Got a question idea? Submit yours here.

I would def use tinted moisturizer since mine has spf. Fill in brows. And mascara. If i have time it takes 2 seconds to do liner at outer corners only and/or ccb on eyelids to brighten. Gloss on my way to the car

I’d go for MUFE F&B foundation rather than tinted moisturizer, as it is waterproof, comfortable and looks SO natural on – my skin but better. I’ll go for tinted lipbalm, fill my brows (of course!) and maybe just a hint of cream blush along my cheekbones.

Er, that’s about all the makeup I put on a normal day.

Mine is about the same! Mascara (probably MUFE Smoky Lash), fill in my brows, and a sheerer lipgloss (like MAC Evolution Revolution). And then I might add a bit of Benefit Sugarbomb to my cheeks, just for a little bit of a glow.

curl lashes, mascara, concealer and powder (maybe foundation or tinted moisturizer; depends on ho w my skin is) fill in brows, lip balm and maybe a brown liner

Janie should check out Lisa Eldrige’s no-makeup makeup video, it’s online on her website (just google for it).

My minimal makeup look is mascara and lip balm, and i might use some foundation on my chin only, depending on my skin that day.

If I’m in a hurry, I use MAC’s mineralized blush in Pressed Amber(from the Semi Precious collection) to contour my neck and cheekbones, then I use Bareminerals face powder all over to mattify and if I have more time, minimally, my go to would be a red lip, an easy to do statement!

For me it depends on the season. If its summer, or I’m going to the beach (or a cruise like you are :D) I tend to do:

1. Sunscreen! The neutragena sheer touch is great.

2. (optional) Estee Lauder sheer tint release. It has SPF 15, so its good if you don’t want to wear full sunscreen. plus it works as your moisturizer, and tones down redness

3. Waterproof mascara

4. And of course a little bit of under eye concealer!

For me minimal is lipgloss and thats about it, but for a more polished minimal look I usually mix smashbox light primer+mufe mat velvet+nars copacabana illuminator for a natural glow to the skin. Then I follow up with nars orgasm blush & either heroine or medusa lipgloss from beaute cosmetics, then mascara. it seems like a lot, but its really not because you barely notice it

Today what I wore is tinted moisturizer, with a slightly heavier foundation under my eyes (late night Thanksgiving wackyness!) and around my nose where it’s very red from a pretty huge bump I got when getting my nose smashed O_< and a bit of blush as I turn nearly ghost white in the winter.

My true minimal makeup look is well..no make up at all or just a bit of concealer. As I normally wear foundation this way, in that I rarely use true foundation. It's too heavy for me and frankly I don't think anyone really needs it.

Tinted moisturizer, concealer, black eyeliner, mascara, red lipstick. It might seem like a lot for “minimal”, but I have an hour-long commute in the morning, so I do it on the bus!

– Sweep of MAC Prolongwear Eyeshadow in Sweet Satisfaction (my holy grail)
– Curl lashes and mascara
– Something illuminating or concealing on undereye area, blended out (conceal some redness/darkness)
– Dior Skin Shimmer in Rose Diamond to highlight bridge of nose and apples of cheeks
– Burt’s Bees Pomegranate lip balm

Definitely prep my skin to perfection, then put on a veil of sunscreen, either light-weight tinted moisturizer or foundation like Lingerie de Peau. Accentuate my brows, some flush on the cheeks and tinted lip balm or a moisturizing MLBB lipstick. I don’t like the feeling of mascara on my eyes in the end of the day so I usually skip it if I know I’m gonna run around in sweat for more than 6 hours. It also doesn’t look natural by the pool, at least to me.
