And for me, the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer was anything BUT radiant or creamy. It’s probably one of the worst under-eye concealers I’ve ever used. Because of that, I’ve never tried their Soft Matte one – I figure if the one claiming to be both radiant and creamy was dry on me and made my under-eye area look cracked, dry and scaly then the matte one would be really, really dreadful.

NARS Soft Matte for everyday occasions, but if I want a really flawless result I’ll first use the Becca undereye corrector and then top it with the Soft Matte. (But I have dramatic genetic undereye circles—we used to joke I look like a tragic Victorian heroine with a wasting disease.)

Dior Forever Skin Corrector, which I think has been reformulated for the worse since I got mine. I also really like the Clarins one in the squeeze tube that was discontinued and then, fortunately, brought back. I have several others that I really like but those are the top two.

Been using Nyx Bare With Me Serum Concealer for several years, and it does a decent job without settling into fine lines or looking cakey even after setting with my RMCA No Color powder. Lasts all day, too. Only caveat: it doesn’t play well with waterproof foundation like MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation, yet does beautifully with my new Lancome Teint Idole Care & Glow foundation.

I’ve got a tackle box with virtually every brand/formula, excepting the UHEs and some new products. I use most of them. How bad the circles are dictate the formula and finish. Fave DS is Revolution Conceal & Hydrate. Fave Middle range is the Saem tip concealer. Loooots of light shades; fine tunes easily. Deeper than medium, I’d forget it. Winky Lux is also great, but verrry limited shade range. Higher end: Armani Luminous Silk, Natasha, and Rose. The odd thing is that the best (application, texture, color match) ones are higher coverage and aren’t as suitable for no makeup/concealer only days. If caught in a fire, dogs first, then the concealer box.

Thanks for the Saem rec! I’ve been on the lookout for a new concealer since MUFE discontinued/reformulated their range and I’m never sure if I can find a light enough color. I’ll have to check this one out!

I’m actually on the hunt for a new one as my holy grail, Dior’s Forever Skin Correct, was recently ripped from my loving embrace and ruined by reformulation. I’ve probably tried every med/full coverage concealer at the drugstore, Ulta and Sephora (at least those with a shade for my vampire-like skintone) and none were as good as Dior’s original version. I’ll probably go back to Nars Radiant Creamy, Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define or Shape Tape once my current tube is finished and continue looking for a replacement.

Cara, I feel your pain regarding the Dior concealer. It is/was my favourite too and yet within a very short time, they “reformulated” (read: ruined) it. Ditto the foundation… Why can’t companies just leave well enough alone when they have a winning product????

Cara Avatar

Right!?!? The reformulation had nothing to do with supply chain/ingredient issues or customer complaints, it was done so Dior could give their products the meaningless “clean” label. This tells consumers that for Dior, the pseudoscientific marketing tactics used to sell products are more important than the quality of those products themselves.

Cara, have you tried the Estee Lauder one? I haven’t used it in many, many years but back in the day it use to be very good and reminds me of the Dior Forever Skin. There is a shade that has a slight peachy cast that was good for color correcting. If the Sisley doesn’t work out for me I may see if I can get a sample of the EL to try again. I haven’t checked it out because frankly, I forgot about it. I don’t know how it would work on my older skin. Worth trying to get a sample though.

Hi Deborah,
I’ve tried EL Double Wear and Double Wear Radiant (discontinued now I think) and both were too drying for under my eyes. Dior’s original formula is one of the very few that’s almost undetectable as it isn’t too dry or too luminous, it just looks like a smoother, more perfected version of my skin.
Thank you for the suggestion!

I believe it was a Temptalia reader who recommended this concealer combination for dark circles, and I have used them ever since. I use Smashbox X BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector in the original (now called Fair/Light) shade. Then I top that with a dot of Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer in the 250 Light Bisque shade. I have light neutral skin and dark purple under eye circles. Those 2 products, blended together, really work well for me.

My favorite has been discontinued and I am so annoyed. Clinique Airbrush Concealer was my holy grail and now it’s gone so will be on the hunt for another.
