Rag n Bone’s Oddity
Maison Margiela’s By the Fireplace and Clinique Aromatics Elixir (I only wear this in cold weather as it’s a bit overpowering when the weather is warm)
Tom Ford Black Orchid, YSL Black Opium, Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black, and Elizabeth & James Nirvana Bourbon are usually all in heavy rotation for winter.
I just bought black orchid. I have high hopes for it!
I think it’s amazing! I hope it works for you.
I LOVE Nirvana Bourbon!
Maison Margiela’s By the Fireplace, Alien from Thierry Mugler and LolitaLand from Lolita Lempicka .
Still a tossup depending on mood and such, but the same ones as last year: Tom Ford Black Orchid, YSL Black Opium special version, or Avon x Christian LaCroix Absynthe.
Absynthe is a 10 years old bottle, but still has all its notes!
I received YSL’s Libre for my birthday, and I have been wearing it non stop! I absolutely love it.
That’s one of my current favorites, too!
I get so many compliments when I wear it! It’s a new staple for sure.
I actually don’t match fragrance (or lipstick 😀 ) with the seasons, if I like something I’ll wear it the same in a hot humid summer day and a freezing winter night.
But my favorite fragrances that others consider `winter` appropriate are:
* Versace Crystal Noir: The oldest fragrance in my collection (since I haven’t tried in a long while Givency Hot Couture and nowadays I don’t like anymore Lancome La Vie Est Belle). It’s a very interesting fragrance, strong, unique, dark. The middle floral notes balance perfectly the top spicy notes, like a balance of femininity and masculinity.
* Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium (the original, I don’t like any of the editions that came later): Quite a boring option, but I find that for me Black Opium goes with anything and it’s a safe bet. And it’s me… I always want to smell of vanilla and coffee!
* Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Extreme: Maybe it’s because anything vanilla vibes with me (and again, I would wear a strong vanilla scent even in the hottest day), but combine it with milk and suddenly I think of cozy winter night when you just need warm milk sweetened with vanilla, hot chocolate can wait for another day.
I don’t do seasonal either. I open a fragrance, and if I like it, I use it daily until it’s gone then move onto something else.
Good old YSL Opium and YSL
Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black and Bourbon
A perennial favourite – Clinique’s Aromatics
Estee Lauder Knowing
D & G The One
Burberry My Black
I love my perfumes!
I recently got a decant from Lucky fragrances of Bains Guerbois
“2013 Residence D’ Artistes” it’s a woody floral with notes of peach, jasmine sandalwood and leather ,among others and I really love it.
Tom Ford Santal Blush
Maison Margiela Jazz Club
Just ordered Tom Ford Soleil Neige blind & excited to try it
Winter fragrance arsenal: Laura Biagiotti’s Roma, Lolita Lempicka (original in purple bottle), Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle, Dior’s Dolce Vita, Serge Lutens’ Une Bois Vanille, Tihota, Nars Audacious.
Weirdly enough, 2019 has been a year of me preferring my winter scents in the summer, and my summer scents in the winter. I’ve been snuggling it up with my Guerlain Vetiver or my Lush Kerbside Violet. (For comparison, in June of this year, Tom Ford Noir Pour Femme was in my regular rotation.)
For very cold weather, L’Heure Bleue and Mitsouko from Guerlain. Recently, I revisited Paloma Picasso’s Mon Parfum, Clinique Aromatics Elixir. But, I guess for a short period, because very cold winter is short in Greece.
I have four that I regularly use throughout fall and winter. Cartier’s La Panthere is my go-to. One or two sprays and I’m set for the day. I also rotate in Elizabeth and James Bourbon, Tom Ford Black Orchid (my husband’s favorite) and Balenciaga Paris.
My faves for winter are Lolita Lempicka (original purple bottle) and Dolce & Gabbana “The One.” I have a ton of other favorites, too, but those are my top 2 for a cozy feeling!
I wear perfumes according to my mood..not season. My favorites are Tom Ford Noir, Cartier La Panthere, Van Cleef &Arpels Orchidee vanille. Bulgaria is nice for a day time fragrance, anything Hermes I love and have most of. They never do anything but amazing! Oh yes! And Kilian Black Phantom and Good Girl Gone Bad ?
I love Sonoma Scent Studios ambers or incense perfumes in cold weather, Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan, quality sandalwood oil, some chypres (Silences comes to mind) spicier scents like Costes, and the heavier florals that feel so cozy and warming in winter – but those mostly for night, or when I won’t be going out ’til later – I hate an overpowering others w/ my scent but I love me some intensity and sillage, so needs the right ‘audience’ /some time to mellow on skin. A few I love: David Yurman original, Ma Vie, vintage Halston Couture, Pascal Morabito’s Or Noir, and my last precious drops of Tann Roka (Signature, not Kisu) !!! ….anyone know where I can find another bottle of this gem!?!
So far this winter, my favorites are YSL Libre, Mugler Alien, Mon Guerlain, and Miss Dior.
Lately I’ve been really into really warm, strong scents that have some uniqueness and originality to them. My current winter faves are Tom Ford Cafe Rose and Kilian Black Phantom. I usually out on a generous amount of perfume since I don’t have a very strong sense of smell but I use both of these sparingly as they are very bold and I like to make a statement with my perfumes but don’t want them to “yell” lol.

I don’t rotate. If I open a fragrance and like it, I just use it daily until it’s gone. I just finished my Clean Reserve White Fig & Bourbon, and I started using a Christmas Gift – Victoria’s Secret Tangled Blooms. It’s honestly a little flowery for me, but not awful so I’m using it. I guess my fave that’s not discontinued is Juicy Couture. I really like all of them. And Gucci Guilty.
