Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I’m not into any kind of luxury beauty or skincare, so while I spend a lot on skincare and body care, nothing seems like a really big splurge.
The most expensive product I always have to have around is Paula’s Choice Clinical Retinol treatment.

Hi Christine, can you tell me why do you like it so much? I know you mentioned it a few times as one of your favourites.. What changes do you see? I’ve only used the P50

SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF: it’s stupidly expensive, I know, but I justify the cost knowing my prescription tretinoin costs me nothing at all, and the rest of my skincare routine is mainly inexpensive K-beauty.
But also Tatcha rice wash (the powder one). Ooo I just love it so much.
So that’s two. I will not feel guilty about it haha.

Ohhh i’m thinking of getting the Tatcha rice polish wash, which one do you have? the classic, deep or gentle?
The gentle looks like it’d be good for everyday and I could really do with a mild everyday exfoliant.

I’ve only ever used the classic. I can’t speak for the gentle, but I can say I can alter how granular/exfoliating the cleanse is. I start with just a few drops of water to get the good exfoliation, and go from there. The more water you add, the creamier/foamier it gets, so you could truly have no ‘grit’ at all if you wanted. I just love it. It’s like 2 cleansers in one — a gentle scrub and a cream cleanser. And it just feels so luxurious!

Belif Peat Moisture eye cream and Fresh Advanced Therapy lip balm. I use the eye cream ($58) because it’s the best under eye prep for concealer and the lip balm ($24) has been my holy grail for years; I have one stashed in multiple places in my apt, purse, office, coat pockets…etc and I always have at least 2 backups on hand.

Alas, most of my “splurgy” things aren’t available any longer – REN Wake Wonderful, Farsali Glass Skin Serum, BECCA “everything”. I guess it would be Dior Flash (the spray foundation) and accompanying spray primer and also NARS eyeshadow primer (what’s silly is that I KNOW there are eyeshadow primers every bit as good at much lower prices but still I really like having it). Oh, and Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush.

Good Molecules discoloration serum and instant cleansing balm. A bit pricey for my budget and if they increase in price I’ll have to cut them but they do wonders for me.
