No one yell at me, but I forget to use sun screen most of the time…
If you have a daily moisturiser that has a good SPF in it eg above 30 then that will be fine.
Unless I am at the beach, I don’t use it on my legs. And I only put it on everywhere else if I am actually going to be in the sun eg at a park. I really dislike summer, so I stay indoors.
I won’t yell at you MacKenzie. Regularly using sunscreen took me years to remember! It wasn’t until my 40s when I got a visit from a high school friend who had moved to Florida right after we graduated. She obviously was not a sunscreen user; I was SHOCKED! She looked 25 years older than I. That moment sealed it for me. When I think of all of my 20s and 30s and never using it…..well, I try to think about something else. 🙂
Finishing and /or setting powders! And when I do, I will also completely forget to use a spray mist fixative, too.
And same goes for me with hand lotion. Not a good thing out here in such a dry climate. My cuticles and fingertips on both thumbs and right index finger are dry and cracked.
Eyelash curler!
Setting powder. I forget it almost every day! Foot cream is also something I tend to use very irregularly.
It’s more a question of just not using for me rather than forgetting. Highlighter, contouring powder, primer,…
Perfume. It is the last step in my morning routine and by the time I get there I am usually in a rush already.
I usually have one of those sample-size bottles with me in my purse, so whenever I forget I just go to the bathroom and put a few drops on my neck, and that’s that. Maybe that would work for you 🙂
Face masks! My new year’s resolution was to use one every week, and for a while that worked ….. then I found myself slipping back into old habits and forgetting all about it. Oops!
It was my resolution last year, it ended much the same way. So I renewed the resolution this year. Not doing much better.
Girls!!! I am with you.. I cannot even count the masks I own. I suppose I think if I buy more, I will feel the need to not let them go to waste. Life is so busy. I have really tried hard lately to take time for the small things I REALLY enjoy, in the midst of the business. Here’s to us all remembering to use our face masks!!!!
Christine, if you lived where I live, you couldn’t possibly forget either hand cream or body lotion! For me, it’s probably all those “essences” and “softeners”, “elixirs” and “serums”. I can’t remember what it supposed to go on first and I have doubts about just how many of things you really need to layer onto your face. And I often forget to use face primer….once my moisturizer has had time to sink in, I move right on to foundation (if I’m using it).
Primer! Guess that is saying something about its role in my makeup routine.
Hand cream (I only remember at night) and I always forget to do serum before moisturizer.
I always forget eyeshadow primer or an eye base of some sort (like a paint pot). I usually start with smudgy liner and then woops, there I go with the shadow.
Masks. Everytime I buy one, I promise myself I’ll be better about sticking to a routine. And then Sunday night comes and I’m too lazy to get off the couch.
I am bad about using face masks. Usually the reason is because of a lack of time.
hand cream, body cream, bronzer, setting powder!
Body cream, moisturizer (oops!) and MASCARA! I don’t know why I tend to forget mascara.
Face masks
Primer – I don’t find it necessary so I forget it and when I wear it, there isn’t really a big difference to me.
Setting Powder – this is something I didn’t use before it became a big thing and don’t tend to now (no baking for me, etc.) but I do have it.
Lip Liner – I have so many yet I ALWAYS forget them and these are things I like to use more often than I do
Concealer; I don’t often get blemishes, and I don’t have actual discoloration under my eyes. However, I do have deep-set eyes, so I do like to use it to make the “hollows” appear less recessed, but unless I’m doing a full-on look, it just slips my mind… For “everyday” looks, my foundation is typically enough.
Definitely, fragrance. Thank goodness for roller balls. I keep 3 in my bag, but they aren’t available for some of my favs, and I haven’t found really, really leak-proof, small atomizers for them — yet. I’d love suggestions, if you have one.
Just one?
Foundation primer
Eyeshadow primer
Lipstick primer (do you notice a trend?)
Hand cream
Besides daily moisturizer and sunscreen, I’m awful about skincare in general. It’s going to be hard once I start getting wrinkles hahaha.
I always forget facemasks! And sometimes mascara.
Hand cream in the bathroom and at my bedside are the best locations! Returning moisture to your hands after you wash them is easier to remember! And before you go to bed, after you do lip balm or a lip treatment.
I forget to apply foot cream and it is probably the thing I most need to use. My heels have callouses and I am a diabetic so you would think I would take better care of my feet but I just never remember. When I lived in a city I would go for a pedicure once a week and loved it but since there are no nail places or beauty places for that matter, in western Montana, I just forget about it.
Deborah, I promise this comes from my heart. I’m reading this on my tablet sitting next to my Dad’s bed at the hospital. This is his 5th admission in 3 months but this one is a new level of bad. He is diabetic too ( as am I though mine is in remission ) and never cared for his feet properly despite begging and warnings. This nightmare started months ago when one of his calluses cracked and got an infection. It wouldn’t heal and more stuff kept going wrong with his foot. We just found out last night his toe has gangrene. I’m so sorry to bring up such a serious and graphic thing on a fun makeup site but I’m sitting here staring at consequences. Your comment hit me like a ton of bricks. I know your level and his level are vastly different things and I’m terrified I will make you angry or offend you. But from where I’m sitting it’s worth the risk! Now that’s over. I won’t mention it again. Let’s continue drooling over beautiful lipstick and amazing eyeshadow palettes 🙂
I am not in the least bit offended. I understand completely about the consequences and I am sorry that your Dad is dealing with this horrible disease. I am a nurse and have worked on neuro and vascular surgery units so I have seen and dealt with the ramifications of diabetic foot ulcers and gangrene. I will send positive thoughts for your father and his recovery. Sometimes we know something with the intellectual side of our brain that doesn’t translate into action and I think that sometimes that is what happens to me. I am going to make a renewed effort to take care of my feet. Thank you for your concern and lets both think about pretty lipsticks, eye shadows and nail polish.
Perfume! I spray it right before I leave my room, and sometimes I’m in such a rush that I totally forget. As far as face goes, it’s mascara I forget the most (which isn’t too often, thankfully) because it’s the last step and I don’t keep my mascaras in the drawer where I keep my eye makeup products. Maybe I should start!
I have a bunch of lip pencils. Never think to use them. Ever. Ergo, I guess I don’t use lip pencils. 🙂
The mask thing…here’s a suggestion if you want to use them, but keep forgetting. Get a sleeping mask and use it instead of your night time moisturizer (or over it), a couple of times a week. I love them and I do use them regularly since it’s so easy and effective. The good ones aren’t cheap, but if you do the math, they are much less per use over time than the sheet masks.
Every once in a while I put on a full face of makeup and forget mascara, of all things! It’s really weird.
Foundation primer! But I never forget eyeshadow primer!
hand cream, body lotion, perfume, sunscreen, face masks…….I also have the intent to use a cream bronze/highlight/blush and then absentmindedly set my face without thinking before I can even apply them!
As well as lip liner/eye liner.
Hand cream. I do not like the feeling of my hands when I cream them so I only use hand cream before sleeping. And because of this I often forget it and sleep before I have used the hand cream.
Recently I also often forget Eye cream. I do not know why. I always notice it when I have finished my makeup and look in the mirror and see that the eye area looks very dry.
I also do not use body cream regularly. But I have to be honest that I do not forget it, I am just often too lazy.
Hand cream. It’s not really forgetting. I’m with Kylie on not liking the feeling during the day. I read in bed at night and don’t want to get my books dirty so I don’t put it on . Then I fall asleep before I can do it!!
Lip liner. I just don’t remember to use it….despite probably needing it on my aging lips.
I tend to forget primer.
Heat protectant on my hair before I use a heated appliance. I usually remember afterwards.:(
Tightline colour! I never wear black or brown liner on my upper tightline!
I also never curl my lashes, because they naturally curl up in the air!!
Lucky woman!
I don’t forget to use anything. I skip products for sure. Like most days I skip foundation. Don’t want to be bothered by it and I have no time for touch ups. I do remember lip balm and lotion. I live in cold weather climate right now. I have to keep my lips and skin soft and dry skin free!
Face masks – yet to use one
Finishing powder – just use setting
Never use contouring powders either
Oh my goodness Christine, I’m a hand creme addict. I’ve been using it religiously since 8th grade. I had a young and beautiful Home Economics teacher who preached to us about the necessity of using hand creme any times we had our hands in water and also when we sewed as the fabric had a drying effect on our hands. Funny how something like that was imprinted on my brain. I have a jar or bottle in every room of my house. I always carry a tube in my purse, there is one in the glove compartment and one that stays in my travel bag! My daughter and daughter-in-law never use hand creme. Everytime I’m at their homes, I go running for my purse or travel bag to get my hand creme. In each of their Christmas gifts, I included a LARGE tube of hand creme and told them to start using it or at the least, put it out by the kitchen sink when I visit!
BTW…the beauty product I most often forget? Highlighter!! My face looks SO much better when I use it, I much have a mental block about it.
I am the same when it comes to body moisturizers and face masks as well.
p.s I always spell the word “creme” instead of “cream”. I see most people here spell it “cream”. When I was in school, the nuns who taught us always drilled into our heads the “cream” referred to dairy or animal products and “creme” referred to any salve, ointment or “creme” used on the body.
Talk about teachers having long term effects!!
Ha. You just taught me something! I always wondered why some people used the word creme. I assumed it was just a fancier, more sophisticated way to refer to a cream that was used on skin – never realized that there are specific instructions that ‘cream’ only refers to the dairy product.
I think I will start using ‘creme’ now ?
I’m glad I was able to share a tip with you, even if it wasn’t about makeup! 🙂 🙂
Wow! I didn’t know there was that distinction between cream & creme! Thank you 🙂 I also was told fabric dries hands as my mom was a huge quilter!! I have a tube in all the same spots!!! Handy hehe
I’m sure she battled dry hands constantly!
Masks. Really bad about forgetting them. Now I put one in my sink at night so I see it in the morning when I brush my teeth before shower. Getting better!
I always forget to use my face masks, even though I buy tons of them, and promise myself I am going to use them. My good friend told me to put them in the shower, next to the soaps and gels. An idea I am going to try. I solved the hand creme dilemma. I put a tube in my car, one in my desk, another in my bag and one in each bathroom drawer. Now I never forget to use them. Sometimes I forget to put on night face creme , And grease up my eyes.UGHHH thats life.
I always forget to put on face primers and vitamin c.
Eyelash curler, i always remember it right after that first swipe of mascara when it’s too late.
face mask, foot cream, primer. sometimes mascara!:)
Oh yes, the foot cream! I have about 1,000 all unopened.
same!:) I have a tub that’s still full!
One of the most important things! I forget to do my eyebrows! Mine aren’t sparse or thin but they are very blonde so I might as well not have eyebrows when I forget to add color. I probably scare children and don’t even realize it with my freaky almost invisible brow hair. You’d think I would remember something that important.
I forget my finishing powder!
Face primer, but not because it is unimportant. Usually when it happens I am just moving too fast-I catch it every time as soon as I have started applying my foundation-and I start over.
Hand cream, primer, nail polish. I forget nail polish because I have kids and I can never get a chance to sit and wait for them to dry.
I sometimes forget that extra bit of bronzer and highlighter before I leave the house – I almost always check. Lip liner is one I don’t use all the time. I never use masks – don’t like the down-time or the mess – they just don’t seem to do much for my skin anyway so I don’t use them.
I make sure my moisturizer has sunscreen as I know I won’t use one if it doesn’t – don’t need another step in my makeup prep routine.
Handcream I forget until I hands feel SO dry! I have hand creams everywhere to remind me. That and cuticle oils.
Exactly the same products you said. I use the Tom Ford Soleil oil dry in the summer, but in winter, when I probably need most, almost never use body lotion. Hand lotion I keep next to bed and almost never use. I love masks, always have at least 4-5, usually put one one in the morning to use at night and then am too tired to use.
Contour I like to use it but already have good cheekbones structure so don’t need it much but like to use lightly it from time to time and top with a beautiful highliter on blush!
Hand cream and face masks are next. Forget to use them.
I could never forget hand cream…my hands remind me when they feel dry. And I’ve only recently started using facemasks, and I usually don’t forget.
What I do forget though, is my Miracle Blur. I use this after I have done my base, powder, and bronzer to smooth out the forehead lines and “11s” between my brows. It does make a difference, but sometimes I forget and then I notice that the lines look harsh in my car mirror.
And there are times I intend to use undereye concealer and forget that as well.
Hand cream — yes, yes, and yes. It might be a deliberate mental block, though, as I don’t like the transfer I always seem to get. Also, I’m an artist that works on paper, so I have to keep my hands very oil-free or I can ruin my paper, so I deliberately wash my hands **a lot** and very deliberately don’t put hand cream on afterwards. I put hand cream on my nightstand for nightly application, but maybe forgetting isn’t the problem, as I’ll look right at it and not use it. [sigh] My hands look 15 years older than the rest of me.
I’ve never used blush and I’ve only recently jumped on the trend of highlighting and contouring.
Usually the only thing on my face is only foundation and concealer.
