What were your five most used single/individual eyeshadows in 2021?

I tested a lot of eyeshadow this year, so I didn’t end up revisiting much, especially since any down time was testing out the shades from my collaboration with Sydney Grace! I think the shade I used the most outside of the collab would be Pat McGrath VR Fire Opal (from Bronze Seduction). Otherwise, the ones I think I ended up using the most were: Sydney Grace eyeshadows in The Mielke Way, Phosphenes, Heart-dog, October Odyssey (Light), and Sakura Glow.

Of single shadows (those not in palettes at all, even if I’ve now put them into self-assembled palettes):

Stila Starlight
Smashbox Puppy
Sephora Glazed Donut
MAC Burning Ambition (from the Illusionary/Burning Ambition Mineralized Shadows that are packaged joined together, if anyone remembers those…this is an oldie but such a goodie)
Benefit
and now it’s a toss up between another real “oldie” – Benefit Where There’s Smoke – and a brand new addition, Buxom 24KT Stilettos.

I really only used Garland, Anima and Sigil Ash and Ember Eye Soots from Rituel De Fille this year. The colors are very subtle on me and blend into my skin tone well just giving a hint of color and dimension/shape to my eye area. But I got a lot of use out of my Vintage Rose palette from Give Me Glow when doing other peoples make up. Not so much the green shades but the the rest of the palette was a work horse for me.

I honestly have no idea whatsoever! But I’ll try…
1.) MAC Orb
2.) MAC Kid
3.) MAC Folie
4.) Sydney Grace x Temptalia Aurora
5.) SG x Temptalia Phosphenes

Newer shades being used to death recently that deserve honorable mention are:
Menagerie Flight Club Fruity Feast, Wingin’ It and After Dark, SG x Mel Thompson Tiny Marvels Marvel, Fire Butts and Meadowhawk, ND Retro Midi palette Vivienne, Go-Go, Andy, Rebellion, Amara, Swing and Glitz.

#1 MAC Wedge – which actually has a big pan on it, perfect transition shade
#2 MAC Quarry – good as transition or even an all over lid look when I crave for something mauve
#3 MAC Print – because you can’t get the grunge out of this woman
#4 MAC Vanilla – because I only like to highlight my eyes
#5 MAC Amber Lights – because there’s nothing wrong with revisiting a classic

All MAC. Naked Lunch (and I use it as a face highlighter because it’s so pretty.). Grain. Knight Divine (old, discontinued but I love it and can’t find a dupe.)

I haven’t really used any ‘single’ eyeshadows at all this year. I have tended to mix and match eyeshadows from a couple of different palettes. As singles used with others, these include:
Gold Nectar – PMG
Autumn Blaze – Pixi
Magellan’s Light, Earthbound and Flying High from On the Horizons
Primrose, Dahlia and Whiskey from Lorac’s Noir
Olive green shades from CT’s The Rebel

I’m retired and since I am immune suppressed I don’t go out much and don’t generally wear makeup at home. For days that I do wear makeup to grab grocery orders, the mail etc most common choices would be: Mac paint pot in soft ochre as a base for shadows; Mac Blanc Type; Mac Omega; Mac Cozy Grey and Mac Bare Study Paint Pot for ‘one and done’ days.

The only reason I use singles is for an all over eyelid color when I’m in a rush. So, in order of use:

The left-hand (lighter) shade of NARS Madrague
NARS Biarritz
MAC Yogurt
MAC Layin’ Low (but it’s not a favorite and I can’t decide if it’s the formula or the color)
