I got some stuff online. Like quite a lot:

– Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in Ecstasy
– YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in Rose Dahlia
– Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Romance
– A couple of Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids
– Real Techniques stippling brush
– A couple of NYX Lip pencils

Yeah, a lot I know. 🙁

Just tonight I went to my local Ulta and picked up Urban Decay’s “Lovelight” lipstick and 4 Zoya polishes in “Holly,” “Ibiza,” “Jem,” and “Rica.” I remember stumbling on your review of “Holly” a while ago and absolutely fell in love with it, but the collection had come out quite a while ago so I thought we would never be united. I’m not much of a nail polish girl, but they were too beautiful to pass up.

The Dior and Chanel sales counters stared at me on the same day – and then spotted I a gorgeous Shisheido blush out of the corner of my eye. I so rarely get to a real store that I caved.

Picked up
– Le Blush Crème de Chanel in Inspiration (64),
– Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Rendez-vous,
– Les 4 Ombres Quadra in Raffinement
– Dior Shimmer Star Pressed Powder in Amber Diamond, and
– Shisheido’s luminizing satin color (blush) in Tea Petal.

No more for me this year.

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipsticks (Bright Plum, Deep Burgundy, Devon Sunset), and Lip Glow Natural Lip Glosses (Brick Red, Bright Plum,Coral). My local Burberry boutiques don’t carry cosmetics, so I had to purchase them online. 🙁

I went a bit overboard this month on ebay, and picked up more than a few NARS duos I’ve either had my eye on for some time, or have been DCd. I also picked up a couple of NARS blushes & a single, and went a bit over budget. I justified it, though, because I paid far less than retail for everything, and no sales tax (we pay nearly 10% here in SoCal). I have Part 2 planned for September, which is mainly things I can buy at NARS.com, and and Part 3 in October, which is primarily newer releases & some items that are a bit out of my comfort zone. After that, I’m done until the Holidays, LOL!

Just yesterday I bought some MAC stuff (not that much, though, with the Indulge collection coming up here in the UK): Paintpot Painterly, lipstick Mehr and Mineralize lipstick Grande Dame.

Last weekend I picked up the Laura Mercier illuminator in Spellbound and an Urban Decay lipstick in Naked. The highlighter is beautiful and the lipstick is just what I was looking for-longlasting and super moisturizing on my middle-aged lips.

“Splurge” to me suggests either really pricey, so that would be the Guerlain Les Fumes eye shadow quad, OR really unnecessary and that would probably be the Stila In the Garden palette. Don’t get me wrong – I absolutely LOVE this palette but it wasn’t something I needed in any way, shape or form (mind you, that probably applies to 90% of the makeup I’ve bought this year).

I got 5 of the new Armani ETK eyeshadows (only skipped Silver Chafer). I am so happy with my purchase!!! As I’ve said here before, unlike most other people I didn’t like the previous shades at all, the texture didn’t appeal to me (kinda chunky/gritty), but these new ones are pure heaven. Buttery and smooth and they are definitely a lot more finely milled. I loved Rose Popillia so much that I wanted to get a backup, but unfortunately that was the first one to sell out at Nordstrom.

a england polishes in Dragon and Holy Grail (I know they’re not terribly expensive, but I’m the sort who rarely sees reason to pay more than $8-9 for polish).

Kitty Avatar

Chanel nail polish in Mysterious. Trying to save up a little as my list for London beauty shopping in September is getting way long. (I live in Oslo, Norway where choices are limited…)

Last month I bought a lot!

Sedona Lace Midnight 12 piece brush set
MAC Viva Glam V lip stick
MAC Cork lip liner
MAC Sweet As Cocoa Blush
MAC Viva Glam V lip gloss
MAC Touch lip stick
Smashbox Heat wave eyeshadow palette
Three BH Cosmetics Eyeshadow palettes
Clinique take the day off makeup remover
Benefit Stay Flawless primer
Kat Von D Lock & Load Setting Mist

I was on vacation and decided to splurge like never before!!! Needless to say I won’t be buying any makeup for a while…

I picked up Chanel Bronze Universal. It is the perfect contour. I love it. I also just ordered a Marc Jacobs eye palette and blush. Based on your review, I should have passed on the blush. They should arrive today. Hopefully I won’t hate it.

Two Mehron eyeshadow palettes: palette 207 and palette “earth”. Also bought extras of my favorite Shu lipsticks and a small Burberry haul. None of this necessary so definitely a “splurge.” Mehron shipping was a bit expensive!

Jojo Avatar

YSL chromatic eyeshadow quad
YSL touche eclat foundation
Mark Jacob foundation
Gurelain BB cream
Urban Decay Lipsticks and lipliners
Mac eyeshadows, harmony blush, paint pots and deliciously rich eyeliner
(just got my pro card =p )

Weeeeell, I think I got too excited with some collections because they’ll never be back (kinda), so I bought Nars GCW, Nars NY, Nars Voulez Vous, Nars The Happening, some BBW candles, Wet and Wild stuff including some Kate Moss lipsticks, huuum let me see, even I ELF, MAC and Garnier BB Cream for oily skin…I did made a good investment tho haha.

I just ordered the Guerlain Voyage compact on ebay. It was down to 110 USD, but it was still the most I have ever spent on one cosmetic item before.

Kyuu Avatar

Christine, you don’t consider your LMdB subscription box a splurge? I know it’s more than worth it, but that was a lot of money at once!!

For me, the Enchanted Polishes I picked up at Llarowe yesterday!

Lisa Avatar

Saw Benefit’s Gimme Brows in InStyle this month, and ordered it immediately. I mean, I read the reviews first, but I didn’t wait for any kind of sale or discount — I NEVER buy permanent products at full price, so I had to be pretty darn excited about this product.

Marena Avatar

I just picked up Laura Mercier’s oil-free tinted moisturizer, as well a Benefit’s Boi-ing Concealer at Sephora today! I also went to Lush for the first time and picked up one of their makeup “colors” (which is more-so a lip gloss/stain but could be used elsewhere) in Perspective- it’s a gorgeous, shimmery, neutral pink-toned mauve!

Marina Avatar

Hmmm. I actually just came back from it. Three old favorites and 2 new products:
– Nars Albatroz
– Nars Madly
– Nails Inc base coat
– Urban Decay lipstick in Rush (I’ve been dying to try it)
– Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy 602 (I’ve been into a 90s lipstick phase and dying to try this new formula, so perfect storm)

Cella Avatar

All I wanted was Sugarpill’s Cold Chemistry palette…somehow the Heart Breaker & Burning Heart palettes ended up in my cart too. I shouldn’t be allowed to shop unsupervised.

I bought the Clairsonic Mia 2, and the sensitive brush head. What a huge difference this has made with the rosacea, and enlarged pores! I could see a difference in 3 uses. I just used my regular cleanser, and it was not irritating, and it actually felt good!

VickyM Avatar

It was a while ago, I bought a Lancôme L´absolu Rouge in Rose Rhapisodie, a repurchase of Chanel Peridot polish, Chanel liquid eyeliner and Chanel Rouge Coco Camelia.

Two weeks ago I went to a business trip and I finally went to a Sephora which had Guerlain’s makeup line. I live in Romania/ Central-Easthern European country / and some of the most exclusive brands are very hard to find in here.

I splurged and decided to buy instantly the Guerlain Perles du Paradis Meteorites and the Rouge Automatique Liu (122). Even though the LE Meteorites I chose to buy don’t have the best reviews, on my fair skin with cool undertones it looked lovely and I decided to take the risk. I’m glad I did! It makes wonders to my overall complexion and it evens out any blemishes that might be too stubborn to stay camouflaged.

The Liu Automatique was bought because of your amazing review Christine! Thank you so much! You were so helpful. The color is amazing and it fits me perfectly! Being this my first Guerlain lipstick I think Chanel will lose its first place in my top favourites.

Thank you so much Christine for always being so nice and professional. I love temptalia and I read it daily. Today I decided to sign up and be more active and I am so glad that I did. You welcomed me in such an amazing way. I can’t believe you already answered my post!

Tons of hugs from Romania! 🙂
