What was the last holy grail product you discovered?
This is so tough! I feel like I might have a few or something more recent,
but Estee Lauder Naked Truth Hi-Lustre Lip Color is a major find for me.

Clinique’s Take The Day Off balm. I think I’m on my 4th tub if that stuff!
God I love that stuff. I’ve discovered so many uses for it. It removes wax residue if I ever wax at home, and yesterday I just discovered it cleans up rubberized packaging (like NARS or Bare Minerals) that collects dust and becomes all grubby. I just rubbed a little on a Qtip, scrubbed the packaging clean and wiped it off with a towel (no rinse).
That is good to know!! I love multi-use products!
This is tought…. I would say nyx glitter glue!
I started to use it with glitter bomb shadows of course but I discovered that it also performs wonders with pigments. No need to wet the brush, improves their longevity. Same applies for eyeshadows which need a bit of help. I had some I would neglect only because they would just fade really fast on me and/be very tamed.
NYX glitter glue is pretty fantastic. I’ve been using it with my ABH Prism Palette
Blinc mascara! It’s the original tubing mascara and I realized the only mascara I can wear that won’t smudge are tubing mascaras. Wish more companies would make them!
Hmmm, Probably Marc Jacobs Tantastic. I was not a big bronzer user, I wanted to be, but I felt like that bronzer made me excited for bronzer and really got me to use it pretty regularly.
The last product I found that I can truly call “Holy Grail” was Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation. My oldest HG product is Clinique Brow Shaper. I’ve been using that for daily for more than 10 years.
I’ve cheated on both products, trying other brands here and there, but I always come back to my two beloveds: Double Wear and Brow Shaper.
Yaasss! EL Double Wear foundation! Me too!
Bobbi Brown Long-wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink. I also got my sister to love it too, it’s an amazing eyeliner for me.
Tough one… I’ll go with Lorac eyeliner in bronze — for lower lid/waterline, just right for my coloring, medium neutral with a little sheen, very long lasting — all day plus some, good for office and low-maintenance weekends.
At about the same time I found Nars blush in Taos — perfect warm red blush for my coloring, long lasting.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea water foundation in Porcelain (thanks to Christine’s recommendation!)
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation!
Estee Lauder Pure Color Hi Luster lipstick in Tiger Eye.
Shadow Insurance by Too Faced! I was struggling with shadows fading and creasing after only a couple hours of wear (i have very oily eyelids compared to the rest of my face, which is dry). I tried a couple of other primers/using concealer and nothing helped my eyeshadow stick or apply to full intensity like this. Ill definitely be repurchasing when i run out!
Normally I would say my Chosungah 22 foundation since I haven’t had it available to use in so long that it feels like a new discovery. But, since I have used it in the past I will go with something that I had not used before and just recently tried, Smashbox Primerizer. I have never been faithful to any primer exclusively and tend to shop around looking for the perfect pore blurring primer. I don’t feel like this does anything for my pores but I only use it around the periphery of my face where I am Sahara dry. It seems to make my makeup apply better and smoother without gumming up or pilling off. I am still looking for a really good pore filling primer for use around my nose, cheeks, chin and center of my forehead. I have used pretty much all of the ones available currently so hoping for a future discovery.
Clinique stay matte universal blotting powder!
I got a 2.5g mini of it from Sephora, and it’s amazing!!
I have really shiny oily skin. And need to blot and re powder every 3 hours or so to stay matte. And USUALLY with blotting powders, it’ll cause the foundation on my nose to go patchy.
But this powder is to light, and nice it doesn’t!!! And really soaks up oil!!!
Lancome Teint Idole 24H Longwear Foundation. It’s the lightest-weight full coverage foundation I’ve ever used. It has a skin- and under- tone match for me, which is no small feat. It covers up even my worst cystic acne breakouts.
100% agree. It’s gorgeous and I love mixing with a bit of moisturiser for a sheer wash of colour that just evens out my skin without being mask like.
This was a few months ago at this point, but the Glossier Cloud Paints have seriously been such a game changer for me! I prefer wearing blush to bronzer/contour, but I sometimes applied too much. I don’t have that problem when I use the Cloud Paints though! I just wish they had more shades, but simplicity is kind of Glossier’s “thing”.
Boring, I know, but it has to be Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush (and also Becca Blurring Primer, though I’ve not bought the full size yet….still working on the generous sample the Sephora SA gave me).
Hoola bronzer from Benefit, love it, I use it everyday
Easily Colourpop’s Precision Brow in Arched Auburn. Has saved me so much $$. The only makeup product I wear every single day.
ABH Brow Wiz in Soft Brown
Clinique High Impact Black Mascara
KVD Lock It Translucent Setting Powder
Clinique Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder in Invisible Matte
Clinique Cheek Pop Blushes
Benefit Rockateur Blush
Bare Minerals Matte Foundation
Cera Ve Cleanser
Oooh I forgot Lancome Blush in Miel Glace. How dare I not mention!!!
Elizabeth Arden Prevage anti- agening foundation with SPF. It provides a sheer coverage so it is better if your skin is in good condition to begin with, but once you wear it your skin glows! It’s expensive, but worth every penny!
Really, really HG? That’s requires a lot of thought. It’s gotta be a few years ago now: Bottega Venetta Knot. The other is DS 100% glycerin. That’s a range, right there :).
It’s hard to pick just one:
Nude by Nature Primer – cruelty free, natural ingredients and suitable for sensitive skins.
Rimmel’s Match Perfection gel creme foundation in porcelain
UD Naked 1
Natio Blush/highlighter mosaic palette in Sunkissed.
I love my Milk Blur Stick. It reduces the appearance of large pores and wrinkles. It also makes my makeup last all day with no powder.
ColourPop’s satin liquid lipstick. Amazing.
Newest HG: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Oldest HG: Neutrogena Sesame Body Oil
After thinking (or overthinking?) about this question quite a bit, I do know that I never, ever want to be without either my Viseart Amethyst Theory palette or my Fenty Universal Lip Bomb Gloss! Been using and enjoying both of these on a far more regular basis than I was expecting to.
My most recent HG is the UD All Nighter setting spray. I know it’s not a new product, but I’d never tried it before. I bought a travel size to test it, and I’ve just ordered the full size. I love it!
My holy grail would Cheeky Bits blush by MAC. I just ordered your lipstick Christine. It’s beautiful!
