What was the last beauty product you regretted buying (or not buying!)?

What was the last beauty product you regretted buying (or not buying!)? Let’s reminiscence!

.

Guerlain’s Teint d’Ailleurs. Their Tinted Moisturizer. Orange, orange, orange. And I threw away the box on accident, so I couldn’t return 🙁

Thanks to Rashmi for today’s question!

Sarah–try to barely moisten your brush with some fix+ if you have it. That was the ONLY way i could get the Stacked pigments to work for me. I was so frustrated with them too!

dolce aria Avatar

They work MUCH better if you press them into empty pans with a touch of rubbing alcohol. For some reason, that made the texture SOOOOO much easier to apply evenly, for me anyways. And yeah, applying with a teeny bit of mixing medium also helped. But the pressing was the BIG one.

Amanda E. Avatar

Benefit Hoola. Really cute packaging, but just too dark for almost everyone with fair/medium skin. Kept it anyways in case I ever get super tan in Hawaii 🙂

Katie Avatar

Thanks for the Hoola warning! I was thinking about buying it, but I ended up getting NARS Laguna instead and it works well for me, even though I’m ultra pasty! (I’m NW20)

lrielle Avatar

I’m an NW 20 and hoola is my favorite bronzer! You’d have to really pack it on for it to be too dark…as long as you use a light touch it looks super natural. It’s a perfect matte brown, no weird orange undertones. I’d recommend it when your nars runs out!

Amanda E. Avatar

Katie- we have the same skin tone haha. Irielle- It’s such a gorgeous color in the package, but it’s just so obvious on my skin.

snoopysteph Avatar

Try using it with one of those fan brushes – Benefit has one – and it will go on with a very light touch. Otherwise, you’re right, it’s very dark!

christy Avatar

You know Sephora has a wonderful return policy and you don’t need a box or receipt to return that. At least at my store. And you can exchange or get store credit, because they sell that product too.

Kim Avatar

You should just be able to give them your drivers license if you don’t have the receipt…I work at Sephora and haven’t heard of any changes 🙂

Christian Avatar

Is it true that you DON’T need the boxes?? OMG that would be amazing…I’ve been on the hunt for a good undereye concealer and blemish concealer(since i know they’re supposed to be diff shades) and my Benefit Boiing #3 is too dark but i’ve long ago thrown away the box!

Lina Avatar

I really regret not picking up the MAC chromagraphic pencil while they still had it in their pret-a-papier collection! I can’t buy off of macpro because I don’t have a membership, unfortunately 🙁 You think there will be hope that they bring it to another collection?

Katie Avatar

The Chromagraphic pencil is being released in the Rodarte collection (September) but they’re not releasing two shades like they did in Pret A Papier. They’re releasing one in NW25/NC30.

Lina Avatar

Really? That’s the shade I usually wear. I might pick one up just for a concealer pencil and phone call the pro store for a lighter shade. Thanks!

Andie Avatar

Make Up For Ever HD powder. Blah, nothing special and too expensive. The To the Beach Lipglasses. Also nothing special, and I am not a big fan of lipglass in general. I didn’t need them.

konconsc Avatar

I guess the new loreal e/s hip duo . . cant remember the names, but the 5 newest shimmery/glittery duos…god..they have MASSIVE fallouts and pigmentation is poor!

Michelle Avatar

I wish I hadn’t bought MAC’s Violet Trance eyeshadow. The color looked absolutely amazing, but its chalky, not pigmented and difficult to blend.
Makeup Forever’s #92 is a much, much better dupe (discovered after purchasing MAC product).

Diana Avatar

Mac’s Popster lip conditioner from the Hello Kitty collection 🙁 I thankfully bought pink fish but i really regret not getting Popster 🙁

Hanne Avatar

Too funny. I so regret buying my Popster. i have tried it once and hates it on me;)It’s just sitting in my drawer unhappy;) I love Pink Fish though…..

dolce aria Avatar

I dont usually regret buying items, or not. But I’m kicking myself a little bit for the three MUFE Pure Pigments(No.’s 14, 16, and 18) I bought around two months back. The colors are LOVELY, but they’re SO difficult to work with, and they don’t photograph well at ALL. I keep trying to take them out, make them work, because they’re good primary colors if you can get them vibrant enough…. But you can’t. Not without making the blending look patchy and chalky. It’s not that it isn’t pigmented, it’s just that it doesn’t apply evenly! it’s, i thiink, the only MUFE product that I’ve ever been SERIOUSLY disappointed in!

As for wish I bought? I wish I had two more of their aqua cream colors-a classic black, and a classic white. Just for versatility’s sake.

Ru Avatar

Hi Dolce, I’m surprised to hear you had trouble with the MUFE pure pigments. I have no.6 (red) and I used it during my wedding events and it blended really well and came out great in photos. I’m not going to lie, they are very pigmented, a bit messy, and a little hard to work with, but they do take some major blending. I think you may want to try a shimmery nude base to get them vibrant. Also, I found out a little goes a long way- that may prevent the chauklyness. Have you also tried mixing them with other colors? Also, you may want to try a crease brush for blending… I hope this helps and hopefully you don’t give up on them and will try again!

kasiaj85 Avatar

I definitely regret not buying Hipness blush from TTB. 🙁 It was such a lovely color! Still, I’m hoping to see it repromoted soon! And also, I wish I had bought more pigments, when they were still in that user-friendly, not to mention bigger, boxes…
What I regret buying? hmmm… I’d say, nothing from MAC, that’s for sure. But in general I think my hauls are usually well planned 🙂 so I rarely regret anything. 😉

Sarah M Avatar

I always fall into the trap of buying mineralize eye shadows by MAC. As much as I like mineralize skinfinishes and blushes, I’m not a huge fan of the eye shadows. I got some from the In The Groove collection because they looked so pretty but I was disappointed… again! 🙁 I wish I had saved my money for collections coming out later in the year.

Jennifer Avatar

Mac’s Ripe Peach Blush Ombre!!! Whyyyyyyy?!?! No dupe could ever take it’s place. Hope to see it released sometime in the future again.

Brittany Avatar

me too! i am not that broken up about not getting marine life and i didn’t even try to get stereo rose because i didn’t think it would look that great on me, but i am still wishing i had gotten ripe peach!

Jennifer Avatar

yea! i can’t believe i passed that up. at first glance i was not interested in anything from that collection. darn, i should have looked a little deeper. -_-

LH Avatar

MACs Satin Taupe eye shadow I know a few people will go what!!! but I cant get the color to work for my skin tone so it sits in my palette not getting any love.

Christian Avatar

Yes I’m shocked you don’t like that color…but I did find that I cannot wear Satin Taupe alone on the lid. I’m around NC25-30…and MUFE HD #125 to be exact and I think the beauty of Satin Taupe is when it’s combined with another color in the crease like Embark. It some how slightly lightens or something..but anyway to me it looks much more complimentary than when it’s by itself. I liked it b/c it goes with lots of other crease colors. 🙂

LH Avatar

I’m glad you found a way to use it that works for you. I have tried it alone, as the lid color as the crease color Ive tried it with other browns, greens, purples, blues, pinks you name it and I just cant like it on me. Maybe my skin is to warm I don’t know. Maybe someday I can find a way to work with it or find someone who can. Thanks for the suggestion tho 🙂

anissag Avatar

Lash Blast fusion it sucked but i used it all up so i wouldn’t feel so bad and regular lash blast because i bought it in brown instead of black oh and l’oreal collagen waterproof I liked the regular but the water proof one was like buying it after someone had used it for 2 months.

Laura Avatar

I purchased the smashbox Lash DNA Mascara at Sephora bc It was one of they $10 special they display at the counter. I thought what a good deal on mascara. Ugh, the brought is shaped so weird. The tip has not shape, is too fluffy, and lots of products comes on the brush. The tube does not help to take off extra product. I only use it when it’s a mascara emergency like yesterday : /

Martyna Avatar

for me it’s CREME D’NUDE. On me it looks like old, cheap lipstick… it sooo hard to put on my lips. It never looks good… even afer a lipscrub. 🙁

Karen Avatar

It was the same problem I had until I used MAC oak lipliner all over my lips topped with Creme de nude and viola! It’s now my perfect nude lip 😉

Martyna Avatar

hmmm… so maybe there’s still hope! 😉
Thing is… it was my first mac lipstick and now I’m afraid to buy more! Love the other mac stuff, though!

Tawny Avatar

I thought I was the only one who don’t like Creme De’ Nude. I Look like I’m dead. It wasn’t just the ultra nude-ness lol, but the finish just looked too weird on me.
I regret buying YOUNG PUNK mineralized eyeshadow, too. I mean, it’s gorgeous, but I knew in advance that I don’t look good with any shadows that are too dark; i just got it bcause it looked nice. YOung Punk is still in its box, untouched, in my drawer. 🙁

Michele Avatar

I look dead in creme de’ nude also. I heard so many people say how great it was but on me it doesn’t work. I’m going to play around with it some more but am definitely not a fan of it!

Eve Avatar

I regret buying (yes, buying) Marine Life. I doesn’t necessarily look bad on me, but it’s not too great on nw15 skin either. It has found a more loving home now. 😀

Wendy M. Avatar

I regret not buying Later pigment, Ripe Peach blush and Gilt by Association mineralize eyeshadow. 🙁
Hopefully they would be repromoted soon!

piggles Avatar

Trying to substitute Lancome Bi-Facil with a cheaper alternative. Makes me appreciate it even more.

And I’m not really feeling All About Eyes Serum with the roller-ball. I’ll admit it — I only bought it because Sephora threw in a free All About Eyes with the purchase.

Manny Avatar

I regret buying bikini peach lipgloss from Chanel, it just doesn’t look good on me. I wish I bought a back-up of full on lust lipglass from MAC.

Mari Avatar

The product I regret buying is the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. I know many people love it but I just don’t think it is the right foundation for me or people with dry skin. The name confuses you too because it is not sheer and it did not give me a “glow” effect. On the contrary, it accentuated my dryness even after applying lots of moisturizer. It’s sad because it was so expensive and I really wanted to like this product. 🙁

Kathryn Avatar

You should return what you don’t love! Don’t let it collect dust for no reason. Sephora and I have a love hate relationship. I spend lots of $$$ there, but if I don’t like it…it’s going back!!!! Mac is just as good at taking returns. Save those boxes and receipts and there is no hassle! 🙂

DonnaN Avatar

Hi there, member me? Sorry I’ve been MIA lately—promise to do better in the future.

My biggest non-buy regret is missing most of Mac’s TTB collection—I’d planned to get everything (almost), but my real life got in the way, and by the time I got around to it, most everything was GONE (like the wind…). I did score the creme bronzer, the Rosemary & Thyme e/l (mainly for the packaging) and one of the lipglasses…..learned my lesson about NOT pussy-footing around with MAC releases, that’s for sure!

My last regrettable beauty purchase was a Tarina Tarantino e/s, which was way TOO glittery for my taste, and made my eyes itch….thank god for Sephora’s return policy.

Heidi Avatar

I try to plan my purchases carefully so I don’t end up with stuff I don’t like, but it still happens to me. Last thing I bought that hasn’t ended up working out is the MAC Black Black chromagraphic pencil. It’s awesome on the waterline… for about 10 minutes, then it smears all underneath my eyes. Really sucks as it’s such a nice heavy black on my waterline, vs. UD Zero, but can’t stick.

Lady Di. Avatar

I regret buyins Mac shell pearl beauty powder from the liberty of london collection. I cant figure if its a blush, highlighter or all over face powder and I have tried it all of those ways! I find it to be completely useless!

Lea Avatar

I have it and LOVE it. I wear it either on its own (on the cheekbone and drawn up to the end of the eyebrow), over a coral blush or even as an eyeshadow highlight. I wouldn’t use it as an all over face powder, it would make me look horrible. Just dust it over the sides of the face, it illuminates the skin so nicely.

Petra Avatar

I adore Shell Pearl -I actually think it’s far superior to the MSF’s-. I’m around nw20 (although my neck/body is lighter so I usually go ligther in shade on my face) and I wear it in the summer as a blush (it’s subtle but people have never complimented as much on how healthy and fresh I look), or on top of a blush as a highlight. I like to pair it with nude-y, coral-peach blushes (for exc. MAC’s The Perfect Cheek, Personal Style, Enough Said, Ripe Peach). I imagine it would work well as an es too! Hope You end up loving it! 🙂

Katie Avatar

I couldn’t agree more! I spent $30 for it on ebay about two months ago because it looked so gorgeous in the pictures but I was unpleasantly surprised when I actually received it. I expected it to be pinker with a little shimmer. I definitely lost my money too….

Nichole Avatar

I also regret buying Mac ombre in azalea blossom. It does not show up on my brown skin. I bought into the hype and bought online without swatching it at the counter first.

Katie Avatar

If you goto allcosmeticswholesale.com (an online CCO), they carry both colors! I bought the Blush of Youth beauty powder from there and I ADORE it. At the time, I got mine for $26, but I think they’re $29 now. Still, it’s a really nice piece to have! As for Summer Rose, I got mine from the Liberty of London collection just because the packaging was so darn pretty.

Colette Avatar

I regret buying Coral Crepe paint pot from MAC, it just makes me look so tired! Even blended out, with shadow over my eyes just look pink and awful. 🙁

Gisele Avatar

Regret buying: a box of Coty translucent setting powder. The smell was horrendous and the powder awful; it went in the trash, and I decided that I don’t even need setting powder!

Regret not buying: Beiges of Chanel. Vaguely remember hearing of it but it semed too basic. I’ve since learned basic can be beautiful.

Katie Avatar

I regret buying MAC’s Pinch Me blush. I bought it online and it looks like a matte version of Peachykeen (which I have), but Peachykeen is so much more gorgeous. Now it just sits all by its lonesome! I also regret buying a shadow in Paradisco and the Coral Crepe paint pot. The colors are STUNNING, but my pasty NW20 skintone makes it very hard to work with. Maybe I can rock it with a tan?? haha

I wish I bought the Ripe Peach blush ombre and the chromagraphic pencil from Pret-A-Papier.

Kristen Avatar

I too have fair skin. Try putting coral crepe with malt on the inner 2/3 and paradisco on the outer 1/3 with saddle or other rich brown in the crease. Looks great together!

Brittany R Avatar

I got some weird Photorealism quad from my CCO…it had club and Nylon in it instead of Photorealism and the other light green shade. I was so upset.

aradhana Avatar

Regret Buying: violet trance, suite array shadow duos
Regret Not Buying: style black MES (gilt by association)

Thrilled With Buying: Nars Mekong & Galapagos, MUFE HD blush in Nip and Tuck

Violet Avatar

Urban Decay Stardust eyeshadow… I bought 54 and Moon Spoon right when they came out, before they were in stores… 54 was pretty when I applied it wet but the fallout was horrendous. I had the worst time getting all of that glitter out of my brush. Moon Spoon looked like sparkly dirt. 🙁

Vanessa Avatar

The products i
regret buying are Both Nars. One is the pore minimizer doesnt work last about 2.5 seconds and definitely not qorth the price for the size either. Also there buffing brush is so stiff it feels like nails scratching your face and it’s about $70 not worth it

Janet Avatar

The Clairsonic Skincare brush. Didn’t really change my life like I thought it would. In fact, I broke out even more. When I went to return it @ Sephora the girl said I didn’t give it enough time to work and I should try it out for another couple of weeks. Well, no thanks. I am not going to keep using something that obviously didn’t work for me so back it went.

Christian Avatar

Just an FYI if you ever decide to try it again, I think the breaking out is your skin purging itself from deep set bacteria, dirt, oil, etc. That period with any skincare product kind of sucks but sometimes if you wait it out then the end result is worth it. 🙂

Carissa Avatar

That’s actually what happens 90% of the time! The Clarisonic unclogs the pores and gets rid of anything that your regular cleansing routine can not penetrate and brings it to the surface. So it’s completely normal for your skin to get worse at first before it gets better, it’s actually quite common. You probably didn’t use it for enough time. Patience! 🙂

AnGeLwInGz Avatar

I regret not buying Chanel Nouvelle Vague nail polish. I wish I hadn’t purchased Dior Pinstripe Plum lipstick and Black-Tie Plum Ultra Gloss. Every time I try to wear either one I end up wiping it off right away. Last year I regretted buying the Night Butterfly quint and Precious Violet eyeliner. I’ve only worn the Black Plum nail polish once since I bought it last fall. There’s an OBVIOUS trend between me and purple Dior cosmetics.

charlotte Avatar

Regret buying: Maybelline mineral powder, it just doesn’t look good on me also it looks a bit cakey.
Regret not buying would be, MES from style black and I missed out on the holiday collection from 2009.

nicci Avatar

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and the Hydrating Water – together I was so oily, it was gross! I tried just the tinted moisturizer and had the same problem – oily but not as quick. And the staying power was weak even with primer. Both got returned to Nordstrom!

53 Avatar

I regret not buying some lipglasses from MAC Hello Kitty Collection. I think I got distracted or something. Ahhh!! haiz. oh well it’s ok. I can’t wait for Fabulous Felines, Venomous Villains and Tartan Tale!

Marian Avatar

I regret buying YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick. I hate the formula of these. They’re very thick and creamy and just slide around on my lips. They have no lasting power and they look streaky. I really dislike the supposedly mango taste and smell too.

Gigi Avatar

I kind of regret buying Bobbi Brown’s Corrector, it just was not happening for me. It wore off within 10 to 20 minutes, even when setting it with a powder.

Jessi Avatar

I regretted buying Blooming Lovely lipstick from Liberty of London – it just looks too light and weird on me. It’s better now when I put Chillin’ cremesheen glass over it, but still it’s very odd.

Anyone have any tips for the best blush to wear with it for an NW15 with naturally red cheeks? :/ I can already only wear blue eye shadow with it or I really look like a clown.

Petra Avatar

Not sure, but it seems like a good idea to me: have You tried something very natural, beige-nude shade before? Maybe it would let some of the redness show through but kind of counteract it too? (I’d say something along the lines of Personal Style -it was LE, but You can look up sg similar in the permanent line!-, which is pretty light and hard to overdo)

Kerri Avatar

Regret buying Too Faced Shadow Insurance. No matter how much I squeezed the tube trying to mix the ingredients together all I ever got to come out was some oily liquid mess. Exchanged it for Tarte’s primer. Just like UDPP but without the stupid wasteful packaging.

Regret not buying True Babe lipglass and Ripe Peach Ombre. Maybe I’ll get lucky and find them at a CCO one day.

Jennifer Avatar

you probably left your TFSI in the car, like i did. it worked great but i accidentally left it in the Texas heat and it ruined it.
it really is a great product though. i like it a lot better than UDPP 🙂

Angelina Avatar

I regret not buying more backups of the lipglass color “Moonstone” from M.A.C. I bought it years ago and I can’t find a dupe for this peachy/pink color. I don’t even remember what collection it came from, but it was a beautiful color. When I went to the M.A.C. counter I asked if they had it and they said yes, but it was a lipgelly and not the same color.

Karen Avatar

I regret buying a few lipsticks from Bobbi Brown: Nude Pink, Baby, Gilded Pink and Pale Mauve. All very pretty colors and they “should” all look good on me, but they just don’t. What was I thinking? Now I can’t get excited about anything from Bobbi Brown.

katy Avatar

i’m regretting NOT buying Petticoat. i really want it and have wanted it for years but i have to save all my money for school in the fall currently. so buying it wouldn’t be smart of me, i spend too much on makeup as is. i just really want it and know later on when i can go buy makeup again i’m going to wish i had saved up money before to get it.

Vickie Avatar

i regret buying the mineralized eyeshadows and blushes for In the Groove. they broke me out so needless to say they are being return. i weird those broke me out but my MSFs dont

Julie Avatar

Regretted Buying: MAC’s Viva Glam Gaga…I don’t know what the heck I was thinking trying to make it work for me =_=
Wish I Bought: Chanel’s Super and Genial from the Summer 2010 collection, my counter is all out of stock.

Katie Avatar

I love VG Gaga! Well, not at first. My skin tone is NW20 and it looked like a cotton candy mess on my face so when I put it on, I tried dabbing it — which toned it down and I liked it better. Then, I ended up buying the Subculture lip pencil which I swear, changed everything. It’s now one of my favorite lipsticks of all time. Subculture toned it down A LOT so it’s not this crazy looking pink. It makes it look very wearable. I do this same method with Lazy Day lipstick (from To The Beach) because worn alone, I look like sort of um… stupid. haha

Rissy Avatar

I regret buying products that I don’t use as often or at all… UDPP in eden (too light, but works ok as a primer), bare study (I use rubensque so much more), lorac shadows on haute look ( only $4 but I don’t even reach for them), kat von d pallets ( I don’t ever use them), and the smashbox primer (nasty stuff to put on ur face) and covergirl liquilineblast (bought the green and thought it was good then decided to buy the whole collection, yea didn’t need it)

I regret not purchasing… I think I got everything I prob wanted its after the fact I would regret spending so much.

Samantha Avatar

Regret buying: Avon Face Perfector – I thought I needed a primer but I never use it and I can’t stand the smell!

Regret not buying: UD Naked Palette (really wish it was selling in-store NOW and not online), MAC Hipness & Instant Chic blushes!

MrsFields Avatar

I regretted buying the MAC glitter in 3D silver because I feel like its too chunky and I have a MUFE glitter that is better and more finely milled. And I’ve always kicked myself for not buying the MAC feline kohl pencil from the Hello Kitty Collection and an extra Mac dazzleglass in Kitty Kouture because its my favorite and it was limited edition. Do u know of any dupes?

Telle Avatar

Try sparklicious from the Alice & Olivia collection. I am using kitty kouture right now and swatched them both and found them to be *very*
similar. 🙂

Liz Avatar

Oooh, that was a pretty collection! I bought the Pearl Glow quint for myself and the Coquette for my mom (although I’m afraid it sits unused, so it was a bit of a waste).

Haylie Avatar

MAC paint pot in Soft Ochre. I ordered it online so to return it I have to ship it all the way back to the East Coast and pay shipping so now I’m stuck with it. I would of much rathered payed for MUFE Aqua Creams.

Nic Avatar

I regret not buying Instant Chic and/or Hipness blushes. I didn’t need both, but I really should’ve gotten at least one of them. 😛

karen Avatar

Regret not buying: Ripe Peach blush ombre, Chanel Nouvelle Vague (had this to checkout online while on vacation but figured I could wait a couple days, big mistake), and Dame’s Desire e/s.

I’ve gotten over not getting Marine Life as I realized I would hate to have that overspray messed with.

Carissa Avatar

Regret Buying:

MAC Blankety lipstick. Too brown for me.

Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara- it’s a good mascara and I like it don’t get me wrong, but at almost $20 it definitely wasn’t worth it.

MUFE Face & Body Foundation- Looks absolutely GORGEOUS when you first put it on, but 3 hours later, there’s nothing on my face. Absolutely nothing. Even set with powder. 🙁

Regret Not Buying- Urban Decay Naked Palette!!!! >:0

Jennifer Avatar

I regret buying Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion. The pretty purple packaging drew me in… But it neither lengthened or volumized. Boo 🙁

But I truly wish I’d gotten the Ripe Peach Blush Ombre. So pretty.. One day maybe MAC will re-release it and it will be miiiiine! Baha. JK. Kinda.

Liz Avatar

I regret not getting the Colour 3 quad from the spring. I reeeeeeally regret not B2M-ing for more cremesheen glasses while I could. I picked up my first one less than a month ago, fell in love with it, and was planning to pick up 2-3 more shades. When I tried last week, I found out the rules have changed, and they don’t accept B2M for cremesheen glasses anymore 🙁

I regret getting the two Rose Romance beauty powders. They do nothing at all, I can’t even see the colour on the brush.

Petra Avatar

Someone from the previous comments really wants to find the two beauty powders from a Rose Romance.
Actually this thread would be awesome to find people looking for the items other people were dissapointed in and want to get rid of. 🙂

Laura Avatar

Regret buying Covergirl mascara (the orange one). Clumpy ugly mess. The brush is spiky and hurts. Did nothing it promised just a stupid mascara. Yet another fail from Covergirl! (Can you tell I’m bitter? lol)

Regret not buying a Chanel Jade back up. So pretty.. 🙁

Fudgedrops Avatar

I regret buying Nars eyeshadow duo in Cleo. I don’t like the colors. Poor pigmentation, lots of fall-outs and no staying power. I bought it because I felt sorry for the saleslady since I made her try so many products on me and I liked none of them. And you can’t return a used product in my country. I had to buy more blue eyeshadows to make this one work, and I have not been too successful yet.

xcarolineeex Avatar

The Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden. My eyeshadows look cakey and crease a little bit.. and I don’t like how the product gunks up in the top.

jen Avatar

Stereo Rose, I won’t return it because I’ll feel bad that they can’t resell it and so many people couldn’t get it. And chanel pink explosion the smell gives me a migraine

Karla Avatar

I totally regret buying Bionic Mascara from Smashbox.

I regret NOT buying back ups of Opi`s Alice in Wonderland “Mad As A Hatter”

venice Avatar

regret to miss-out on MAC’s liberty of london collection most especially on l/s petals and peacocks.

regret: shisheido’s hydro-powder e/s in clover dew! =(

Katie Avatar

I bought the Summer Rose beauty powder from Nordstrom (or maybe Bloomingdale’s? It was online), a few weeks ago. I went to check both sites for you to see if they were still carrying it but they weren’t. Sorry =(

Q. Avatar

I regret not buying backups of Peachstock, especially from LoL; I really loved the packaging and the lipstick is my fav nude ever. <3.

I regret buying Marine Life. It is way too red for me and the glitter from the overspray? Ugh. I just don't see what the fuss is.

Maja Avatar

I regretted not buying prim&proper blush from mac’s liberty’s collection. I got it on ebay later, because I really really liked it. But should have gotten it right away. I got shell pearl beauty powder instead, which really disappointed me, so I kind of regretted buying this one to.

Keener Avatar

A product I wasn’t too happy with even after all the hype and my excitement was Make Up Forever’s HD Blush in #6 (Quickie, I believe. I think I need to play with it some more, but it has been underwhelming thus far.

What I wish I picked up (and can’t believe I didn’t even know about it until it was too late) was MAC’s Ripe Peach Ombre Blush. Sigh.

Angela @ LostInSplendor Avatar

Chanel Jade Rose Nail Polish. I picked it up with Paradoxal and it goes on very streaky and dried with bubbles in it. I actually have it in my bag right now to bring back to Lord & Taylor. I also think it’s dupable so nothing special there.

Ru Avatar

I regret buying some mineral eyeshadows from everyday minerals. The colors were beautiful but the quality is disgusting and almost unusable. I also bought the smashbox cream liner pallete for my sister, but she ended up having it already so I kept it- what a mistake. The worst $30 I ever spent for something that doesn’t stay on at all, looks horrible, there’s like no product in the pallete. I’m so mad about it I’ve basically shunned Smashbox…

Zombii Avatar

Ugh, Physician’s Forumula Tinted Moisturizer (spf 50). I was so excited to try a tinted moisturizer that had such a high spf and included minerals instead of leaning heavily on ineffective (and even dangerous) chemical sunscreens. Unfortunately, even the “ivory to fair” was about four shades too dark for my skin and *orange*. I put it on, showed my mother, and she said “oh that looks horrible!! wash it off!!” it was this ghastly mask on my skin. 🙁 If they could provide actual skin colors (or take it easy on the tint) I’d be all over it in a heartbeat, as the formula was smooth, creamy, and non-drying to my very dry and sensitive skin.

Aimee Avatar

so heartbroken that i missed out on the ENTIRE hello kitty MAC collection 🙁
believe it or not… i wasnt actually into make up then *weep weep*
oh how i wish i was!! 🙁 🙁

Joan Avatar

Guerlain’s Ombres Perlees Eyeshadow Quad 🙁

It turned out to be too light for me, even with Estee Lauder’s eyeshadow base…what a waste.

Hey Kinga, you can try the Pink May quint – which I just got today 😛 though I understand this came earlier (Spring 2008) than Graphic Lights (Summer 2009).

I regret stereo rose but won’t return it because I feel bad knowing they wont resell it and how many people wanted it and didn’t get it. I also regret buying Chanel pink explosion the strong rose smell gives me a migraine every time I open it. : (

I regret buying the Stila Talking Smokey Eye Shadow Palette. It’s so chalky and dry.

I regret not buying a back of MAC Naked Honey Fragrance. I love it, even though it fades away fast. I really don’t want to resort to buying it on Ebay, so expensive!

Regretted buying: Tresemme Dry Shampoo spray for Oily/Normal Hair: sticky and didn’t do squat to improve it the next day. i’m better off using baby powder.
Regretted NOT buying:MAC 134 brush @ a CCO!!! i’m still beating myself up after reading all the good reviews on it and considering it was one of the most expensive ones they carry for more than $10 less! 🙁
