What was the last beauty product that inspired you?

What was the last beauty product that inspired you? A product (or even collection/campaign) that made you do a little happy dance inside?

.

The MAC To the Beach bag seems like cheating, but every time I look at it, I get happy! I’d then say Make Up For Ever’s #21 Turquoise Aqua Cream made me go, MMM!

my hubby let me buy the MUFE flash case for mothers day and when i received it i was blown away..it has inspired me since ive gotten it…i love it!!..the colors are just amazing.Ive used it for both reg make up and face painting!

Lol for me it was the NYX Jumbo Pencils. I was really afraid they would crease on me, because even MAC Paintpots crease on me alone or on top of UDPP, but they held up great and I loved the way they transformed colors, made my shadows last longer, and more vibrant. I got them at a local beauty store for only 3 dollars so I was just psyched at how much I liked them for the price, I bought 6! 🙂

I would have to say that MAC lipglass Flurry of fun, although, honestly, I was not interested in buying it at first, and now I love it, and the MAC Chromographic pencil from Pret-a-Papier collection, I really, really love it and I am using it a lot, pity that I couldn´t find another one as they were sold-out the next morning after I got mine.

for sure MAC’s to the beach collection. I’ve never been so stoked, nor have I ever spent so much money on makeup in a short amount of time.

Ooo what a great question….hmm it doesn’t happen too often but I did dance when I bought Prim & Proper blush. And I know I’ll dance for Marine Life!! 🙂

Um the latest china glaze collection … it made me happy . Also , the new nars multiples – yummy cant wait until i get paid nxt week

Probably (obviously? haha) MAC’s Superglasses.

I didn’t end up being a huge fan of them, but they did inspire me to work with them quite a bit to figure out the best ways to use them – And I came up with a few cool tricks that even the peeps at MAC hadn’t thought of 😉

And BTW, did anyone else besides me have the experience of seeing NOBODY at MAC like those Superglasses at all? Everyone I talked to went, “Superglasses! Ick!” LOL

Michelle Avatar

I had the same reaction last night! They said they weren’t selling well and that it’s because the flecks are too large and no one wants their lips to look gloopy.

No one at my MAC likes them at all!

I got Phoenix, but I was hugely disappointed, especially after all the great reviews on here. It doesn’t last on me at all, and although it’s a pretty colour, it’s definitely not worth the price tag. 🙁 No happy dance for that one.

have you tried any of lipstick queen’s products Chistine? i tried on one of their lipsticks yesterday and then when i went to buy it, it was sold out! but the texture and colour was lovely!

amelia Avatar

i know it’s not out yet but the mac alice and olivia collection. i’m buying everything in that collection! its like all the colours were made for me!

Definitely the Spring Colour Forecast collection, with Blush Ombe in Ripe Peach! When I first saw it’s promo pictures I went totally crazy!!! 🙂 I love this blush!!!

switching to double wear from bobbi brown skin, because all of a sudden i don’t have a layer of yellow grease gunking up everything powdery that i put on top of it! i’m working my way through all of the pretty blushers that i’d given up on thinking that they were to blame for caking, and it’s making me so happy!

Every time I see that MUFE GOLD ICONE collection pictures and swatches, I hyper ventilate…I love Love Golds…those metal powders are to die for…Will they ever come to Sephora in US??

I got some samples of Rouge Bunny Rouge highlighting liquids, and … they’re perfection. Most highlighters are way too obvious for me, I don’t like to shine, just have something really really subtle. These are SO GOOD. I also love the gorgeous packaging, and the dream-world product names and stories. So enchanting.
The only problem is that I really don’t love the prices, not one bit. Then again, I guess it all falls into perspective. If you’re willing to shell out $45 or $50 or a lipstick, then $60-$65 isn’t *that* much for a potential HG that you’d wear all the time … is it?
Go ahead, someone enable me!

Shiseido Hydro Powder in H4,H8 and H12.The first one is so beautiful,I don’t want to touch and ruin it:D It’s a pinkish plummy base with green shimmer.H8 is a soft pink with a hint of bronze, and H12 is a champagne shimmer, and my new favourite eyeshadow base:D I also love that the pots look like little gems,I think I’ll go back for more shades;)

MAC Girl About Town lipstick with Ricepaper eyeshadw and Blacktrack Fluidline have become my signature look…but I am still on a quest to find the perfect blush to compliment this on my NC15 skin…

I just recently bought, Mario Badescu Silver powder and OMG I love it. I have always had the worst blackheads and large pores in that area, which makes my face look horrible no matter how hard i try to cover it up with makeup. I tried this for the first time 2 days ago and I was sooo pleased. I love it! Finally I found something for blackhead removal & pore minimizer!

Cheryl’s shiny eyes chocolate bistro and Forever Glams Chill loose eye shadows. I NEVER thought I would do a Pin up look ,let alone wear browns, until I fell in love with these powders. To top it off it came with a free red lip gloss. What more inspiration can you get then that. LOL

The casing from the Liberty of London collection by MAC. Especially the beauty powder in Shell Pearl. I’m writing my exams about the collection (i’m styding Design and Cultyre Ecomomics. It’s so exiting! 😛

Michelle Avatar

MAC Paint Pot in Delft. It’s one of the few teal blue colors I could find that was more blue and yet STILL matched my skin tone. It’s inspiring me to do a KILLER peacock styled eye and wear it out to a party.

Michelle Avatar

Cargo Blush in Key Largo (it’s a coral “fruit punch” blush). Christine I notice that you don’t often review many products from Cargo, but they are a must try! Especially their blushes. You will love them!

Dini Avatar

The MUFE HD blushes inspired me to look at new brushes and which brushes work best for different products, new colors I would never usually pick up, and application techniques that I’ve never tried. Who knew that one little product could lead me to discover so many new things?

Shelby Avatar

I picked up Rollickin’ Paint Pot at CCO recently. I’ve used it several times now and I’m in love. I love using turquoise like colors. I definitely did a happy dance when I found it. Every time I open the pot to use it I tell it how pretty it is lol

Alexis Avatar

I’d have to say my NARS bronzer in Irresistiblement. It’s described as a desert rose. So I wear it on the cheekbone like a blush but it gives me a great outdoorsy flush. If anything it has made me pay more attention to my cheekbones and add more color there!

Leidy R Avatar

The last beauty products that inspired me is the Mac To the Beach lustre drop and the Get away Bronze blush. OMG so many fun, fresh summer looks to be made!

Mirna Avatar

The MAC to The Beach collection. I was the first one in line for the event, I was there at 6:15 to make sure I would be one of the first one’s in but I ended up being the 1st! Yay. Then when they opened the doors at 7, all the artists started clapping and as I was walking in I threw my arms up in the air and yelled “yeeeaaaaaah! where do I start?!” LOL it was halarious! I looked at the eye khols and lip pencils first. This is the collection that I have been anticipating for quite a while so for me to walk in with MAC artists clapping for their customers was AWESOME!!!! I’ll never forget it 😀

Sass Avatar

It’s one product actually…Illamasqua’s sheer lipgloss in Tantrum. It’s hot and sexy and you only need to use a little bit of it! I have been wearing waaaaay too many purple looks lately because of it.

Liz Avatar

maybelline color sensational lipsticks. I’m always really picky about lipstick shades, and color sensational has so many shades, you’re bound to find one you love. it’s non-drying and goes on smooth, and I love the scent of it too.

One thing that always makes me do a happy dance is find cheap dupes of HE products(of course, they must perform well, too!!).I went from YSl’s Touche Eclat at $42.00 to Boots No 7 Radiant Glow Concealer at $12.99 to Milani’s concealer at $7.99!!.
