What was the foundation you tried? Was it love?
Make Up For Ever HD Skin, but the shade was SO off that I need to get a different one to actually try it. Prior to that, Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin, which is nice, doesn’t replace my La Mer The Soft Fluid.
I invariably forget the many many blister pack failures because the shades are always significantly off. I did retry Giorgio Armani luminous silk and it has become my defacto go to. I prefer it to my former fav Estee Lauder futurist largely as it is much more lightweight albeit less coverage. I’m ok with that. My skin is quite a bit darker as my dogs (three now.. the two corgi bros and a dachshund puppy), gardens, kayaking, all keep me outdoors for much of the day. Shade 5 now works!
The last foundation I tried was Armani Luminous Silk, but it didn’t work well on me, so I’m sticking to my beloved Estée Lauder Double Wear.
I don’t like UD HD Skin shades either! They’re all so yellow. I tried CT Beautiful Skin and I liked it, but I prefer Nars Light Reflecting foundation, it’s a gorgeous foundation
The last foundation I tried was the Nars Light Reflecting foundation. I like it a lot! It’s a great shade match. I never like the way foundation looks around my mouth when I first apply it, but after a couple hours it looks perfect.
Been using my tube of MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation in shade NW30, but it may be time to go up into NW35? Anywho, I love the coverage because I can dial it up or sheer it out, it can withstand our incredibly WET, humid monsoon this year, never breaks up on my skin once it sets. My only complaint? A few hours in, I notice that it seems to oxidize a bit, giving it a hint of orange. Not a fan of that part!
I went to the store to get shade matched and am enjoying the foundation, but I have to prime well. Prior to getting the new hd foundation, I was wearing MUFE Reboot foundation. But, it didn’t last in the Texas heat. I also would like to try the Nars Foundation but, they were out of testers for my shade match.
Like Wednesday, my last “tries” were most likely those blister packs and the colours are never even close to my skin tone, let alone flattering to my undertones. But the last foundation I tried and loved was one of the Diorskin Forever formulations which has since been discontinued (fortunately, I’ve got an almost full bottle and, truth be told, I rarely wear foundation any more – Australian Gold tinted sunscreen or IT CC cream or a powder foundation…I guess I don’t think of them as “foundations” – are pretty much all I wear 99% of the time.
I tried the new MUFE HD foundation a few months ago, and I love the color match and feel of the foundation. However, I don’t feel like it’s super long-lasting, which is important for me at work. Also, I like it much better than the old versions.
It’s still Bare Minerals original (swirl tap buff). I’m sure there is better out there, but gee whiz this is a gem. The more I buff it, the more slightly luminous my skin becomes; not heavy, not too sheer. . I love powder anything and I love this. From the second Lisa Robertson and Leslie Blodget introduced this on QVC in 1996? I bought it, was sold and never looked back.
Natasha Denona Foundation X+. It was like, but not love. It was great quality and delivered on the full coverage, but it felt slightly mask-like to me. I also might have used too much. I want to try it again.
The latest foundation(s) that I have tried are the Flower Beauty’s Skin Illusion and Serum foundations. Skin Illusion provides medium coverage and it is slightly dewy (very slightly). The Serum foundation is more sheerer, great for warm days when you just want a bit of cover.
Both have limited shade ranges here in Aus but the Shell shade in both of them is fine for me. I love both foundations and have been using them constantly since I discovered them (half price at our local Chemist Warehouse).
I purchased three – Charlotte Tilbury beautiful skin, No 1 Chanel revitalizing and NARS light reflecting- loved NARS the most due to the color- Yukon- which is perfect and really does look the best on me.i It makes everything come together- hair color, eye color, blush, lipstick- in the best way possible. Perfection.
