What was the concealer you tried? Was it love?

I think it’s been a minute since I’ve tried a new concealer! The last one I recall was Rare Beauty’s, which I didn’t fall in love with (though at this point, I can’t recally exactly why)

Last I tried was YSL Touché Eclat . I love it so far bc it’s not cakey and doesn’t settle in fine lines. It’s light coverage so if you have a lot to cover it won’t do a thing but I do enjoy it. Not worth the $ but it was a bucket list type of splurge for me

Probably the BECCA by Smashbox Under Eye Brightening Corrector. I like it well enough, but it’s not generally enough unless I’m just going to the gym. Before that, it was probably Dior Forever concealer and, yes, it’s a real love. It’s not 100% perfect but it’s pretty close.

Too Faced btw Ethereal. Not love. It’s not a bad concealer, but I’m looking for something to replace d/c’d Tatcha illuminating eye cream and not finding it. The tatcha was a perfect shade for my undereye area with perfect texture and level of coverage to conceal that problem area. Colorscience almost does it, but the colour is darker/warmer, texture heavier and more emollient sitting on top of the skin so does not set as well. Any rec’s would be appreciated.

Colorescience was kind of like a drip of milk of magnesia on me. Also not sure I like ‘cooling’ metal applicators. Biggest fail in many years. And the research made it look terrific!

LOL.. I think I tried the applicator once and thereafter I would try and splooge a very small splooge out of the pump (tricky) onto my hand and then go in with a synthetic MAC brush. I find I need very very little, but even using the tiniest amount and powdering with a variety of powders, it still maintains a small level of tackiness that makes my eye makeup a mess by the end of the day; especially, in hot weather. It looks pretty good for awhile and then it all goes to hell in a handbasket.

Been using Revolution by Makeup Revolution Conceal and Hydrate in shades C7 for brightening and C10 for coverage for years now. While I love the coverage, one needs to set it with powder in the undereye area immediately or it will settle into lines you didn’t even know you had! But, the shade matches are exactly what I was looking for, and so is the lasting power. Next, I plan on giving the new Nyx Bare With Me concealers very, very soon!

Last S sale I got 3 celeb concealers. despite misgivings about celeb brands, I like Rare Beauty, Rose, and Patrick Starr quite a lot, surprisingly. Colors and textures/formulas are fine and the colors were on the money. Who knew?
