What was the best holiday gift set/palette/value kit this year?

What was the best holiday gift set/palette/value kit this year? Which were you most impressed by?

I find bareMinerals’ holiday Ready palettes most memorable, because they are outstanding in quality overall and are still a good value. They aren’t as value-packed as some sets, but they are such a great deal WITH great quality. Tarte’s Big Thrill set was good, too!

In terms of value, LORAC impressed me the most, although I didn’t buy anything (if I were more into blush, I probably would have, though). As for what I found to be more conducive to my collection, I’d have to say UD Vice & tarte Carried Away.

MUFE, tarte, UD & Kat von D all had great pencil sets, at amazing prices, but I managed to pass on all of them, as I don’t wear any color besides black often enough to justify any of them.

I really liked the tarte carried away collection. It makes the perfect gift for someone who is just starting getting into makeup because it has so many different products! And the packaging is beautiful.

I really loved the Sephora Favorites Glitz And Glam Party Sampler. It was a great value and I loved everything in it, especially the LORAC 3D Liquid Lustre.

I have so much makeup that I barely even looked at any of the sets/palettes that were put out this year but I did look at and buy the Tarte eye pencil set (5 jumbo shadow/liners and one black skinny liner) and can happily label it “one of the best”. I’m also delighted with the Bare Minerals Start Treatment eye shadow palette (and THAT purchase is totally because of you, Christine!)

This year I actually liked Tarte’s smaller sets; I picked up the eyeliner set, the blush set, and the LIpSurgence set, and all of them were great values and totally worth what I paid for them.I picked up one of the lip gloss sets from bare minerals, but I wasn’t all that impressed.

The Tarte Carried Away Gift set was an amazing deal, especially for someone who wants to try out the brand!
The one I couldn’t resist putting on my list though was the Bare Minerals The Star Treatment one! Can’t wait to try it out after Christmas!

UD’s BoS III Revamp was absolutely the best value, I think. It was less than $40, was nearly identical in terms of product amount as the original. Gave it to my sister for her birthday.

Then she was all whining, “I need brushes.” Because all the UD I’ve managed to give her never came with a brush, apparently. So Christmas idea was covered. 😉

Have to say that Liu was pretty impressive. I’ve never been tempted by a palette that included lip products before, but this was just so perfect and party-ready that it called to me.

Smashbox’s Studio Pop Ultimate palette was the winner for me. An absolutely huge amount of products: 45 shadows (yup, 45!), 6 blushes/highlighter/bronzers, 6 lip colours, 9 cream liners, and 2 brushes, all for $59. Steal!
