Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I don’t usually wear mascara (GASP…I know that sounds outrageous) and the very few I have fallen in love with over the years are still ones I love and reach for on those rare occasions when I do wear the stuff. Low end is the original L’Oreal Voluminous and higher end is Clarins Wonder Perfect 3D.

CoverGirl Clump Crusher has been my HG mascara for a long, long time. I tried many others over the years, but I always came back to Clump Crusher. Then, about a year or two ago, I accidentally bought the water resistant version of it…and I love it even more!

I am another person who is not totally loyal to any particular mascara brand. I only wear it every now and again too. Generally I have found that an Australian brand, Designer Brands, makes a pretty good low cost mascara that doesn’t flake, smudge or clump my lashes. Itis called Centre Stage and it retails for about $13.

We are going really old school…those pink and green tubes…Maybelline’s Great Lash used to be my ride or die, but I haven’t bought it in years. Now I rotate between a few Essence mascaras, It Cosmetics Superhero, and TooFaced Better than Sex.

Actually, I used to love waterproof mascara, and now that I’ve tried tubing mascara, all regular mascara doesn’t do it for me!

Christine, are you going to keep any of the puppies?

Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume. I still love the formula but really dislike the chubby brush, especially since the bristles at the end of the wand are practically nonexistent. It makes it difficult to apply to the shorter inner lashes and the chubbiness makes it hard not to get mascara on my eyelid.

Hourglass Caution Extreme. It was one of the few that never flaked or smudged but the last 2 tubes I bought were so flaky that I ended up with raccoon eyes after only a few hours. I rarely try new mascaras because my holy grails, Dior Diorshow waterproof and L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black waterproof, never let me down but this was a good one, until the flaking.
