What kind of sillage do you prefer in a perfume?
I like close-wearing perfumes but more than skin scents; like I don’t want the trail to be very long except nearest to me!

Exactly what Christine said. Mild to moderate sillage that stays close to me.
Low to moderate, but NEVER to the point of being overwhelming or somehow offensive to those who are sensitive/allergic to scent/perfume.
I just want a fragrance that I can smell myself, I wouldn’t want to bother anyone in a 1 mile radius with my scent. 😅 I also hate to be forced myself to smell the scent (no matter how pleasing) of someone else.
I don’t mind a fairly strong silage myself and I do like to smell the perfume on me as well. But I wouldn’t want it to overwhelm anyone else.
I had to look up what “sillage” meant (context clues were good but just wanted to be sure) and I agree! I don’t love when my perfume stays all over the place.
I prefer low amounts of sillage, but I’m starting to wonder if I should up my tolerance a bit because the number of times I’ve had to put my nose right up against my skin to smell something is….not small. For the amount we pay for perfume, some sillage is probably a good idea. I’m just very scent sensitive and terrified of being that person who wafts into the room on a cloud of perfume!
I too like to keep my fragrance close. I don’t mind if I can smell others that is the way I have discovered some new scents.
I like all different ranges. In my life there are appropriate ranges for all but I don’t apprecciare skin scents
I prefer a fragrance that only people who are closer to me than arm’s length can smell.
honestly I do love a BIG fragrance when I’m at home, but I don’t tend to wear them outside of the house much, just to be courteous of others’ sensory needs lol. Not everyone likes a giant room-filling frag and I totally understand.
I’m more concerned with lasting power than sillage. I’m happy for those near me to smell the scent I’m wearing but I don’t want it filling the room (or giving anyone a headache). I remember years ago being up close to a fella on a packed subway and he seemed to have doused himself in BRUT (is that stuff still around). I was nearly sick to my stomach!
Same. I err on the side of skin/personal scents, but I generally like my fragrance to stay within arm’s reach of me. My scent bubble is mostly for me, and for people I am close (literally) to. 🙂
Light to medium. I don’t want to be obnoxious with my fragrance.
