Dr Bronner Unscented Liquid Castile Soap and Kiehl’s Creme de Corp lotion
I use a dry loofah to exfoliate and then a shower gel for cleansing. I rotate them often since I like different scents. I follow up with Neutrogena Sesame Seed Oil. I like it because while it has a very soft scent it isn’t detectable after it settles on the skin and consequently doesn’t interfere with my perfume or compete with the scented shower I use.
I didn’t need to learn that Tatcha makes a body cream! 🙂 I generally dry brush first with a Sephora body brush or a sisal mitt. In shower, Bioderma Shower Oil and Soap and Glory body wash (I think it’s called Clean on Me) and afterward, any one of a bunch of body lotions or butters – L’Occitane Almond Oil is a favourite as it The Body Shop’s Shea Body Butter or Japanese Camelia Cream or Clarins body lotion. I pumice my feet with a Diamancel foot file and follow with Gewohl or B&BW foot cream.
I don’t currently have one since I’m using up various body washes, body scrubs and lotions and am on a no buy until I get through those bottles! I don’t really have go tos for body care. I just need a body lotion with shea butter, a decent body scrub and a body wash that doesn’t strip the skin and smells pleasant!
Mine is boring as heck. Walmart brand Pink Himalayan Salt Water Lily shower gel, followed with either Lubriderm Daily Moisture w/sunscreen, if I’m going out, or Shea Moisture African Black Soap body lotion, if I’m staying in.
I have pretty dry skin, so I use the fragrance-free Kiss My Face Bath & Body Wash. Once I week I exfoliate with exfoliating shower gloves. As soon as I get out of the shower, I pat dry and lotion with C. Booth Egyptian Argan Oil Body Butter or Josie Maran Argan Oil Body Butter. Sometimes, I will apply a body oil (whatever I have in the house) before the body butter to REALLY lock in moisture.
I have five different tubes of Bath & Body Works, so I try to rotate them fairly. I also use LUSH soap.
I use Dove beauty bar when showering and twice I week I use either Korres Guava body butter or Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Body Cream. If I’m being extra indulgent, I’ll drizzle some Crabtree & Evelyn Jojoba massage oil into a warm bath and stay in for more than an hour.
First rule for me: no parabens and alcohol in the product (shower gel, body lotion/butter/scrub). Then I’m looking to be phthalate, sulfate and dye free. I don’t need these chemicals, at least not in a body lotion/butter that remains on the skin.
Current shower gels in rotation: Live Clean (Bali Oil Nourishing Body Wash) and Love Beauty and Planet (Murumuru Butter and Roses). The latter is a Canadian brand and I’ve recently found their shower gels in drug stores and at Walmart CA. Paraben, Sulfate and Dye Free.
Body lotions: I’m finishing a Live Clean one (Bali Oil – same as the shower gel). I find that the Live Clean body lotions are not easily absorbed. I take my showers in the evening so that’s not an issue for me. However, I prefer by far the Cake Beauty– Be Delectable Coconut & Cream Triple Moisture Body Lotion. This one absorbs very fast and it smells delicious but not overpowering (don’t feel the coconut scent after an hour or so). I’ve been always applying a body lotion after the shower.
Body butter (in winter only): Cake Beauty – Milk Made Nourishing Body Butter.
Body scrub (once a week usually): Nuworld Botanicals – The Bending Bar Coffee Sea Salt Scrub. It is 100% organic. This one is amazing, not only in terms of ingredients (organic Murumuru and Cupuacu butter from Brazil, cold-pressed organic Grapeseed oil, fine Dead Sea salts and pure organic Coffee essential oil) but it is so hydrating that you don’t need any body lotion afterwards; it is a bit messy because of the salt. I use an exfoliating glove with it and I prefer to wait 5 minutes before washing it off so that the essential oils get absorbed in the skin.
I use the Derma E oatmeal gentle body wash and the Cetaphil Moisture Cream. I cannot use any scented body products at all.
I switch often, been alternating between Bella rose oil and others such as lavender oil from Trader Joe’s, also their milk lotion with Ylang Ylang scent or plain coconut oil. Need to try the Neutrogena sesame oil smells great! As body wash love Fleurs Blanches/White Flowers all from that name.
Clearly Natural Glycerin Bar Soap + various lotions that are potentially sensitizing which I try to avoid and Gold Bond restoring cream. I really don’t like the feel of rich lotions on my body so i don’t apply lotion that often.
