I brought all my regular skincare but was hoping I could pick up some Embryolisse things on the cheap. I could not find that in Spain. I bought sunscreen that is not available in the US and some Klairs cleanser, which is but I needed it.

I always browse makeup when I travel but the brands not available here (Max Factor, e.g.) were not CF so I did not buy any makeup. I did manage to find some Duraline, which seems to always be sold out in the US.

I also always bring all my regular skincare when traveling, since my skin doesn’t take traveling well and it’s not a time to experiment.
Usually I only depot the cleanser and toner (since those are bigger bottles); I use the face moisturizer and some of the serums as hand/body cream as well.
But depotting in contact lenses cases is such a great idea… even if I don’t use lenses.

I travel a lot, but my basics for a while are always:

– Dr Brandt Luminizer Primer
– Too Faced Peach Perfect Foundation
– Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
– Too Faced Born This Way Sculpting Concealer
– Anastasia Brow Wiz
– Anastasia clear brow gel
– Urban Decay Primer Potion
– MAC paint pot in soft ochre

I then mix up other products depending on the trip. Last week, I went on a work trip followed by thanksgiving with family. I brought:

– the Tarte Ladies Night face and eye palette (I love love love this for travel)
– the Visiert Petit Pro eyeshadow palette (I decided I definitely don’t like it)
– NARS Torrid blush (didn’t really use it because I mainly used the face palette.
– it Cosmetics Celebration Foundation matte powder for a lower coverage, lower fuss option. Normally I don’t bring this, but since part of my trip was family/personal and not business I wanted it.
– Urban Decay Perversion mascada
– whatever lip products were in my purse
– travel brushes – can’t rememver exactly which ones, but a mix of Luxie, Sigma, it Cosmetics and the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill blush brush

Thanksgiving in Florida! Was there for 5 days, probably only wore makeup twice, but I used everything I brought! Here’s what I remember:

-ABH Soft Glam palette
-Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara
-Benefit Gimme Brow
-Benefit Galifornia Blush
-TheBalm Girls Getaway Trio (Balm Springs, Balm Beach, Balm Desert)
-TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer
-Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick in Gazpacho
-Fenty Gloss Bomb (original)
-Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation
-Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer
-Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
-Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden

I just love warm bronze and gold shades around this time of year! “Bronze” in Soft Glam is my superstar and of course, can’t do the holidays without loads of Mary-Lou Manizer!

Benefit Gimme Brow is a great travel companion, I personally can skip filling in with a pencil when using it; it’s even better if it’s a mini. I was almost devastated when they recalled the product and it was unavailable for a while. 😆

I don’t usually wear makeup while traveling (which I don’t do for work), but last time I packed a little bag just in case I did something I wanted to dress up for. Ended up using it once! I packed concealer, bronzer (by accident, I meant to take powder foundation, the compacts are very similar), two Bite multisticks, mascara, and I think another lipstick.

I just travelled from Minneapolis to Chicago for Thanksgiving. I make the trip a few times a year, usually by car. Still, I try to pare down my routine. I always bring:
-small sizes of basic skincare and toiletries
-Olay Regenerist UV defense SPF 50. It works as a day sunscreen, moisturizer, and primer for me. I have a deluxe sample of Drunk Elephant Lala Cream I use at night.
-Clinique Even Better Glow foundation. This travels very well.
-MAC Mineralize skin finish natural powder compact in medium with an old travel powder brush. I don’t like messing with loose powder when I travel.
-My new Clinique pop blush trio was awesome. I use nude pop like a highlighter. I have a Real Techniques travel blush brush
-Tarte in Bloom palette. It’s nearing the end of its life. I may switch to traveling with the UD Born to Run.
-2 eye brushes- MAC 239 and MAC 217. They live in my travel bag.
-A UD double sided pencil. It’s black and brown. I didn’t actually use it this time.
-Whatever travel mascara I have as long as it’s one I’ve tried before and it doesn’t run.
-Travel UD setting spray. I didn’t use this either. But I need it in the summer.
-A ziploc of lip samples, mostly Bite. But I mostly used the lip balm in my pocket. It really was windy.
-When I travel for a special occasion I lug my beauty blender, blender cleanser, NARS vanilla concealer, and lipstick to go with my outfit.

I was SO restrained! This was about 2 weeks ago – went away for the weekend and to see Rocky Horror. I took: Boscia Cleanser, Clarins eye make up remover, Clinique Super Defense face cream, Clarins Super Restorative Night Cream and eye cream (all travel sizes/minis) and a lip balm. For makeup: Smashbox Minimalist palette (it is SO perfect for travel), a small little nubbin of Sephora Cappuccino eye pencil, a mini UDPP, Marc Jacobs Skinny Liner in Blacquer, a mascara (not sure which one), a MAC sample jar with IT BBU concealer, and a 2nd one with Dior Forever Perfect Foundation, Tarte Natural Beauty blush (hadn’t used it in ages) and MAC Craving lipstick. I took a roller ball of La Vanilla original fragrance (I don’t think it’s available any more and I’m so ticked I missed getting it when it was marked down to under $20 for a full sized bottle at SDM). I think that’s pretty much it. Oh, I took some face powder too – can’t recall which though (possibly Rimmel, which I always have in my purse). Seems like a lot but so much of what I took was in minis or those MAC sample jars….I love those little hoojers for travel!

Genevieve Avatar

I think the last time I travelled, I took my staples: primer, foundation, blush, mascara, eye brow pencil and setting powder.
Lipsticks – pretty sure there were 4-5 of them in a cinnamon bronze, a red, berry and a ginger spice.
Eyeshadows – this was the tricky bit – Naked 2, Lorac Pro Metals Palette for colour and bareMinerals Soft and Smokey for different shades.

Jill Avatar

I traveled a few weeks ago I took: Nudestix multistick (I use on cheeks and eyes), a magnetic palette containing a transition eye shade pan and bronzer pan (it will have more eventually–when I have time to fiddle with it), mascara, eye liner, concealer, lip products, and I decanted some of my Tatcha primer into a small travel jar. I use that as face and eye primer. Travel size Urban Decay All-Nighter spray.

Foundation is not a necessity for me so I usually don’t bother. I decant all of my skincare into small dropper bottles and contact lens cases. My SPF is under the 3oz limit and that’s my most important can’t-be-without item so I just take the whole thing. I still have plenty of room in my liquids bag even with it.

I think that’s everything….

We went to Santa Cruz to house sit and vacation at the same time. I brought Laura Mercier primer and tinted moisturizer, my Naked pressed powder, a few NARS palettes for blush, bronzer, and eyeshadows, a couple of mini mascaras, Benefit Roller Lash and Urban Decay perversion, and a ton of lip products and skin care. I brought a lot of sun block too, it was quite warm there in October. I wanted quick looks that weren’t fussy. I didn’t bring eye liners or lip liners, and I brought my tried and true brushes. Most days, it didn’t look like I had much on, and that was fine. I brought some pretty neutral lip colors instead of my vampy reds. I actually brought less, but used more this trip. I usually bring too much and don’t use most of it. This trip, I had it together!

Lauren Avatar

I just had a travel makeup bag stolen last month. 🙁 I had the naked cherry palette, Jeffree Star thirsty palette, Natasha denona blush palette, lash paradise mascara and primer, amrezy highlighter and MAC coco pigment, as well as some brushes. Luckily I’ll be able to repurchase some of these over time. 🙁

Erica Avatar

And this is my fear and why I only travel w a quad w a few MAC shades as well as travel size items/samples etc. A lot less of a devastation if I lost my MAC quad. I’d be devastated if I loss so many expensive palettes. Even if you can replace, that really hurts emotionally and financially! Wow that sucks! !

Lauren Avatar

Thank you-I’m still holding out hope it will he returned, because it was the housekeeping at a hotel who took it. The thing that sucks is I can’t remember everything that was in the bag, I just keep realizing when I can’t find certain items.

EYES: Colourpop Fame palette, Clinique Brow Shaper, NYX Worth the Hype Mascara, NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer, Chanel Stylo Yeux Eyeliner in Charme, and Marc Jacobs Highliner in Blacquer.

FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, RCMA No Color Powder, NARS Orgasm Blush, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, and Wet n Wild Blossom Glow Highlighter.

LIPSTICK: Clinique Black Honey; Estée Lauder Intense Nude; Bite Beauty Leo; Chanel No. 5; Colourpop Lumiere; and MAC Flat Out Fabulous, Russian Red, and Modesty (I have a hard time narrowing down lipstick…lol!)

SKINCARE: Clinique Mild Liquid Facial Soap, Clinique Moisture Surge, Cera Ve Moisturizer, Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream and Creme de Corps.

Plus a whole bunch of brushes by MAC, Sigma, Real Techniques, and e.l.f. And I’m probably forgetting some stuff.
