What brand do you find least reliable in quality?

I think Too Faced has improved over the last couple of years compared to several years ago, but I still find that I never know if it’s going to be a winner or so-so (but total misses aren’t as common any more, at least).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Back in the day, Too Faced made reliably wonderful shadows. I still have some old TF shadows and even by my current standards they’re great. I got more recent palettes and it’s like a completely different brand. They’re unusable.

As much as it pains me to say it, because they make some of my favourite items, it’s NARS. Fewer and fewer of their products are available to me any longer because Sephora, my only practical source, carries so few of their products but even so, a lot of their new releases seem repetitive, boring and not of the best quality….it makes me sad.

I find Too Faced to be the least reliable brand that I’ve ever experienced. I think the only thing I’ve used from them that’s consistent in quality is their mascara. It’s sad because their packaging is really cute and the products look nice, but I don’t even waste my money on them after being burned one too many times.

I would say NARS – in their eyeshadows, which can be very hit and miss (all in the same palette too).
Once upon a time, like you Christine, Too Faced – but they have improved recently once they stopped releasing products every other week.
The Anastasia Norvina line was pretty awful for the price too.
Tom Ford – they can be either stellar or average as well; ditto for Dior.

Looxi Beauty. I made my last purchase from them about two weeks ago and just got it in, and every single shadow I’ve purchased from looxi over the last year has immediate hard pan as soon as I dip a brush or finger into the shadow. I’ve tried and tried to love the brand, and it’s just not happening. I’m giving up and will never order from looxi ever again.

Urban Decay and NARS. Both are brands that really introduced me to high-end makeup in a good way, with products I used constantly (the original Naked palette, for example, I panned) and then deeply disappointed me with being inconsistent later on when I tried new things.
