What blush shade would you love to create?
I want more satin-to-pearl blushes… period. I’d love a soft coral with a subtle sheen (Tom Ford Love Lust was my favorite… original formula). There are plenty of close-enough shades, but they’re often too matte or too shimmery in comparison. For something more interesting, more traditional blush colors with light duochrome shift – like coral with green-gold, coral with peach-pink, mauve with blue-violet, etc.
Love to have some thing similar to Nars Madly blush (retired) or Mac Sincere(retired) which was a beige-coral with some sheen to it, not matte like the original was.
I’m doing well with blushes I love, but I would love to recreate:
1. Nars’ Free Soul, which I still have a bit of. I have the mini and I’ve hit pan. I know ND Rayo is a dupe, and seeing it again, I prefer Rayo a bit, less sparkle. So I guess I don’t need to recreate after all 😉
2. Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush in Brilliant Nude, with less highlight and more of that gorgeous peachy-bronzy undertone. There’s really nothing (not DC) that comes close.
A sheer, yet buildable, neutral red cream blush. It would keep its color when blended out, not turning pink-toned. A formula like Femty Cheeks Out Cream Blush would be perfect.
Rachel, yours sounds like such a perfect glam shade!
Thanks, Nancy! I’ve been dreaming of finding something like it for years.
Nice new pic. But my mental image of you is vastly more colorful! You look as if you’re interviewing for superintendent of schools….totally polished and professional. I know it’s an odd compliment, but you carry both looks very well. Understated is gorgeous on you.
Lol. Thank you. It’s hard to see in such a small picture, but my hair is a cherry cola color with a violet tint, and I’m wearing very unprofessional pink and bright green shimmery eyeshadow. I just felt like I needed a change.
A blushing neutral mauve, that’s not too plum or lavender, in a matte but not flat formula, that complements my yellow warm undertones (most mauves look like a natural blush only on cool undertones). MAC Breath of Plum was almost there.
Similar to my answer for highlighters, I would love to see someone create a line of natural looking blushes, structured by color (peach, mauve, red), skintone (various shades from the lightest to darkest) and undertone (cool, warm).
Everytime there’s a line of blushes launched, it’s just an almost random assortment of colors. For people who don’t have an eye for color, it’s so much easier to just get the plum or the peach blush for their undertone and skin tone; or get one shade up if they like their blush to pop, or a shade down if they prefer barely there blushes.
Some more shades in the Dior Hologlam formula.
Have you seen Dior New World and Rose Delight? I have both…..They’re GORGEOUS!!!
I haven’t. I think one is out of stock at this time. Will check them out when they come back in at the Bay.
Since just about everything under the sun is likely already in existence whether in a standard brand or an indie, all I want is a soft, dusty raspberry red satin for a bit of pop and sheen!
Tough call between something that really suits my skin tone in a flattering and earthy way (think browns and the least pink blushes you can imagine) OR going all out with my recent love of orange and yellow. I am IN to them both, but orange in particular, on my skin. Melt’s Queen Bee and Rituel de Fille’s Snapdragon have become obsessions for me…and I was never a blush person. Having rosacea I’m always flush anyway and spend most of my “base makeup” time just trying to cancel it out.
A reddish/brown…the color I get when I have a slight sunburn. Not a bronzer but a blush. With a teeny shimmer. Yes, I would like that !
I totally agree with you about TF Love Lust- I was so proud of myself for using it up completely but then was so disappointed when the next one I ordered was the subpar newer formula. I have found that Charlotte tilbury blushes are similar- I love her blushes! I would also love MAC to bring back the original formula of warm soul, and the Snow White blush they had -it was a rosy in from the cold flush kind of color- not sure of the name- maybe just bitten?
Bite of an apple was the MAC blush I was thinking of😊
I think there are plenty of blushes within my category of coral and the Tom Ford one does look perfect to me.
