The one I can think of most recently was Chantecaille’s Rose Petal highlighter!

The $50 Naked 2 palette! May not be a huge splurge to some, but it was for me. It’s really not that much product considering how small the shadows are. But worth it.

Miss J Avatar

The eye shadows in the Naked Palettes are all full sized. Each single shadow retails for $18. 12 single shadows would cost $216. You’re actually getting a lot of product for a great value.

Although not a recent purchase, I’d have to say MUFE Flash Palette. I’ve used for everything from a cream eyeshadow base to a lip pigment. I’ve also used it to create cream contour shades. $100 seems like alot up front, but it lasts a very long time, and is extremely versitile.

Another product I splurge on are NARS eyeshadows. Considering how much product you get, the price isn’t too bad. Also, if you break down the cost of the duos, they’re only $17 each, which is actually less than one UD or MUFE single, and barely more than MAC.

Hmmm, so many! Love Clinique’s Superbalanced Mineral Powder—at $42, it’s the best powder I’ve tried. So sad they’ve discontinued it. At the advice of a MAC MUA, I also recently spent an impulse $50 on two different colours of concealer for under my eyes—one to correct and one to conceal. Worth it! 🙂

I have bought the original creme since 1997 and now only buy the 2 oz size. I am afraid that the larger size will spoil. I have other brands sitting on the counter but this one is the one I have repeatedly bought. I buy the original because it is tacky and I can make it last one year. I like the texture of soft cream but I dont think I can make it last as long. I have tried the eye products, the lifting serums, foundation but I never repurchased them as I have with this creme. If you have a cut that doesnt heal, put a dab and it does the trick. I think it has kept wrinkles away but it does not firm the skin. And I am looking for something that can firm my skin. I truly like this product, but it is getting very expensive. The one oz size now cost just as must as what I used to pay for the two oz size. Estee Lauder is a money grabby greedy corporate company.

I bought the Guerlain Meteorites that came out with the Pucci collection–they were my first Meteorites and a splurge for me. I love them. Not only are they a fantastic product, but the packaging is so pretty, I really feel special using and wearing them.

Chanel’s Jous Contraste Blush in Malice. Beautiful color and it goes on so smooth and lasts all day. So worth the money. Now I think I need to try out Rose Initiale.

I definitely agree with you on Chantecaille’s Rose Petal highlighter, LOVE IT!

Some other ones for me are Guerlain Terra Inca Sublime Radiant Powder (not very recent, but still great), Cle de Peau Extra Silky lipsticks and Tom Ford Lovelust blush.

LMdB’s latest eyeshadow palette…..it’s love!

Also the Chanel SoHo Collection blush/highlighter, it is still one of my favourite products. It is perfectly executed in design and application. Every time I wear it I receive many compliments by both men and women and the women are always disenchanted to hear it is a LE product.

I recently bought GUERLAIN Rouge g Jewel lipstick and I think they are totally worth the splurge 😀 I have 4 and planning to get more 🙂
and again thanks to my mentor 😀

Burberry’s Sheer Foundation!

I don’t know what it is about it, but it just looks so natural sitting on my skin. I usually stick to Bobbi Brown and Dior nude, but I got the Burberry one on a whim and I love it! I’ve tried a bunch of high end foundations and this one is just what I’m looking for.

It’s gives my skin a “inner glow” and it doesn’t look cakey or even like makeup. Several times people have asked me if I’m wearing any makeup at all. One thing, it only looks good when my skin is already good so, there is that.

Catherine Avatar

I honestly can’t think of anything I’ve spent a huge amount of money on and thought it was worth it; but I do like having those things anyway.

Catherine G. Avatar

Considering I’m not one for purchasing high-end makeup, my recent purchases of the Tarte 12-hour foundation and the Urban Decay Naked foundation were totally worth the extra money I spent on them, considering I’ve yet to find a drugstore foundation I’m totally happy with. Also, I don’t regret a single dollar I spent on both my Naked and Naked 2 pallets; they’re mostly all I use for eyeshadow!

Guerlain Shine Automatiques! The price makes me wince when each time I’ve bought one, but they feel so luscious and moisturizing. Absolutely worth the price.

Lately? Diorskin Nude BB cream. This stuff makes my skin look like velvet–not fake at all, just gorgeous, matte but glowing perfect skin. Love it to pieces.

Joni Avatar

I’m thinking about getting this! I got a sample and I love how it makes my skin look, but I’m just a little cautious about it possibly being too drying.
But I just bought the Diorskin Nude concealer and that’s making me want the BB cream to go with it.

Sabriel Avatar

I’ve been thinking about that one. A friend recommended it, and I tested it out in the store. The texture felt amazing going on, and it was as good a match as I’ve found.

The $$ gives me pause, but foundation is a good place to splurge since you wear it every day.

Angie Avatar

For me it’s the: UD OZ Palettes, Chanel Poudre Signee, Chantechaille Rose Petal highlighter, and I am super late on this, but I finally got the Clarisonic Mia 2 for Christmas and it’s definitely great.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. I love the texture and the color B20 matches me perfectly. Only I wish it lasted more than 6 hours.
I also think Mac Fluidline Blacktrack, Msf Natural powders, mineralize blushers and Dior’s blushers do pay off.

Chritina Avatar

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Bobbi Brown’s creamy concealer kit in honey. It’s the only concealer that matches me perfectly. Though it’s a little pricey, I swear by it

Mariella Avatar

Hourglass primer – that stuff is pricey but it is so worth it to me because of the results it gives. Same goes for Guerlain Lingerie de Peau foundation. I can get good results using cheaper versions of most cosmetic products but not with foundation (even many of the high end ones). With L de P, I feel confident that my foundation looks good and not like “makeup”.

Ellen Avatar

Just got a sample of that foundation at Sephora based on a recommendation on this site. It does seem to have a lot of fragrance, although not an unpleasant one, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to tolerate it. Gorgoeus texture though, they gave me color #12, I’m about NW 20, what do you think?

Too Faced Natural at Night palette. Not that expensive, but I have sooo many eyeshadows already…. but I love this palette more than any of my other eyeshadows : D

Maggie Avatar

Topix Replenix CF Cream. Use it as a night moisturizer and it’s helped with redness, dry flakes, and overall irritation. Also, I don’t know if it’s a coincidence but I have been less prone to breakouts since I’ve used this–probably bc many ingredients are anti-inflammatory. It’s not cheap though–I’m not looking forward to spending $60 every 2 months on just night moisturizer but if one product is able to address all the problems when everything else failed then I’m game.

Burberry makeup in general, I have a lot of it and haven’t been disappointed by anything yet, but specifically their complete eye palettes. I bought 4 of them (Smokey Grey, Mocha, Dark Spice and Plum Pink) and I absolutely love them. I’m overly excited for the nail polish launch!

KaseyCannuck Avatar

My first splurge was Urban Decays Ocho Loco eyeliner set. Until then I don’t think I spent more then $5.00 on an eyeliner (think Bonne Belle) and I use them every day.

My second splurge was a Nars lipstick in Afghan Red. I’ve used it quite a bit and barely made a dent in the top of the bullet.

These splurges are a couple of my first steps out of “drug store-land” and are totally worth it. I love the quality and will definitely get my money’s worth out of these products, and the eye liners may very well last me into retirement age!!

Guerlain Meteorites (ball version). After reading about it in Christine’s review I splurged and gave it a go. I’m a beauty addict but these ‘finishing powders’ were a new concept to me so I decided to try it. Absolutely amazing. Helps my makeup stay on all day. Another one (which I use under Meteorites) is the Chanel translucent powder. Definitely invest in a high end finely milled powder. Undetectable and combined with Meteorites, lasting power. <3

The Chanel blushes I own, like In Love and Rose Initiale, my helena rubinstein eyelash queen feline mascara, totally worth it, it gives you the lashes that it promises it will 😀 .

L Avatar

probably urban decay naked 2. I don’t own the first one, so figuring out which to get was difficult. To be honest, if the naked basics was out at the time I would have just gotten that.

Recent splurges
– Shiseido Camelia Compact LE
Great as a blush, it is divided into a white highlighter, pink blush and red blush and can also be used as eyeshadows.

– Dior Rose Charmeuse 5 color eyeshadow palette
I love the two light pink pastel colours and the darker pink works great as a blush so again this is a multipurpose product for me.

For me the limited edition Guerlain Sun in the city highlighting powder. I loved the fact that you get so much product. I find it very difficult to find a nice highlighter for my dark skin tone that didn’t have huge sparkles on it. It was definitely worth every penny

The new Hourglasse’s Ambient Lighting powder. I’ve never spent this much on a single item but it’s been worth every darn cent! I’d watched them ever since they got announced. Poured over reviews, even tried half n halfs with Nars version. The minute I did a half n half with Hourglasse’s it was an immediate WOW. Instantly it’s become a HG for me. Couldn’t imagine a day without it now.
