Lately, it’s a bit of foundation! I’m breaking out an unusual amount, so a little bit of foundation to mask unevenness/redness has been a real savior!

I always like a bit of base to even out my skin tone. Luckily I’m having a good skin moment so it’s just tinted moisturizer mixed with bronzing gel.
Concealer. It’s not the most exciting part of my daily routine but I have such dark circles and such pale skin that without concealer, I really look drawn, sickly and just plain bad.
Lately I’ve been using Urban Decay’s 1993 to feel a bit more put together. I bought it after swatching it myself and seeing your review, I truly love it! I’m ~NC15, so it’s a pretty warm brown shade with a hint of red on my lips
Foundation, but brow pencil is almost as important, since my brows are a sparse nightmare.
Agree! I need a tiny amount of foundation to even out tone, minimize surface redness in areas but I can’t leave the house without having my brows done.
Finding a sunscreen product which does not cause my skin to freak out into little bumps. Shiseido urban environment tinted UV protector broad spectrum SPF 43. Bonus: it has just enough tint to make my skin look more even and you can apply generously without it looking heavy.
I would say I feel more confident when my brows are good. I think when brows are awful, they ruin the whole look of my face. I have uneven skin and under-eye circles that make me look sick or tired, but when I’m satisfied with my brows it gives me confidence. With concealer alone, I don’t feel great.
Blush. Preferably a glowy blush.
I would have to say mascara or eyeliner it emphasizes my eyes and highlights them and minimizes any other flaws, they are my best feature and right now when I’m wearing a mask that’s pretty well all you see lol!
The usual answer would be a bold lipstick, but with the current situation I think it’s more like brow products… I’m not that good at plucking them in a good shape, so I just try to clean as much as I can without messing up the shape (better under pluck then over pluck ? ). So a nice brow gel to put my messy brows in place is a must, even when a mask in on.
Especially since personally I made the decision to postpone cosmetic appointments as long as possible, public health is more important than being vain and going to beauty salons.
Lately I have been mixing a glowy SPF with my base (only a few drops of each) and only doing my brows. It is amazing how put together I feel. If I am being fancy or leaving my house for a quick errand I add loose setting powder. Quarantine has helped me to learn less can be more 🙂
It’s got to be a tossup between foundation and my brows/lash products. Not sure which one of the underlying issues comes out as the worst.
Foundation because my skin has redness on the sides of my nose, on my chin and upper lip areas. Plus, my skintone is a bit uneven with some areas of hyperpigmentation.
As for my brows and lashes, they appear nearly non-existent without my brow products and mascara. Both are sparse and my lashes are rather straight to top it off.
I honestly cannot decide.
Normally, foundation. But with wearing masks and I guess staying home for so long, it’s nice to have a contoured shadow look. I feel like it flatters my somewhat hooded eyelids that I dislike.
Regardless of the whole mask wearing thing, I still feel more confident when I apply lipstick. It doesn’t have to be a bold colour but just the act of putting the lipstick on makes me feel like I have made the effort to do something special, even if that is the only product I put on. In general, lipstick is my favorite beauty product and wearing a mask all of the time has seriously impacted my desire to wear makeup. My hyperpigmentation is most prevalent on my upper cheeks which is right where the mask rubs so trying to conceal it is a waste of time. I can actually wear a mask without disturbing my lipstick and though no one else can see it, I know it is there!
This made me smile! I also wear lipstick – I wear it all the time and I wear it under my masks (all of which show this but it washes out! and for the disposable/paper masks, well, c’est la vie!). I also feel better when I’m wearing lipstick and even though I have a mask on at the grocery store, I take it off as soon as I get back to my car and I can drive home knowing I don’t look pale and dreadful!
Guerlain Meteorites Perles – love the finish it gives and the way it melds the look together (buffed) as the final step.
Tinted brow gel. One pass over the inner centimetre of my eyebrows, two passes through my ‘stache, and I feel like I have expressions other people can read.
No particular product but a sparkly lip always helps!!
If My eyes look on point it picks me up. Of course that means wearing the dreaded mascara. Sometimes I skip it as it’s a pain to remove and gives my lashes a break.
Lipstick – it really brightens my whole face and adds a balance of colour between my eyeshadow and blush.
Foundation for me, too. I have redness (probably rosacea) and cystic acne. I feel much better when I have something to even things out and cover things up. Along with that, Green CC cream to counteract redness, which I use under my regular foundation.
Brows brows brows brows brows!
They transform my face instantly. Next up would likely be contour, then bronzer. I think if I had those three, I’d be good…although I do the full glam every day.
Okay okay after reading all your comments, I’m sold on lipstick as something I need too. A pale pink always makes me feel pretty.
But brows are still #1.
concealer for sure! confidence to leave the house without horrifying others ?
PMG Labs and Natasha Denona eyeshadows!
