What beauty brand and collaborator would you love to see work together?

ColourPop x Harry Potter, please and thank you. Or Mellan with any brand. I’m sure he’d do a fabulous job! ?

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Meh I just rather have pretty makeup in sleek elegant packaging vs a picture of a cartoon from my youth on cardboard packing. No Disney. No Mean Girls, Dirty Dancing, 90210. Give me more CT or Chanel fancy lady packaging:) I also don’t see collabs in other words lol

I’d love a Harry Potter collection! But JK Rowling is very strict on what products she allows for licensing, it’s been much more of an educational focus.

Colourpop x Harry Potter is a great idea!! I also think MAC x Outlander could be very nice. Someone should do a Walking Dead set for Halloween. 😉

Actually, Christine, I think YOU need to do a collab.

On a side note, I heard that Lady Gaga is starting her own makeup line called Haus Beauty. Is that true and if so, will you be reviewing it?

I can’t make decisions like that so far out – I can’t commit to reviewing even if I have the product in hand, photographed, swatched, AND tested. 1000s of photos sit unedited every year! It seems widely reported by major pubs so I would presume it’s likely true.

ColourPop x Harry Potter – spot on, Christine! Or any brand x Temptalia (I can already visualize some fabulous eyeshadow palettes)!

I would also love to see beauty products created by or in collab with two MUAs that I love: Lisa Eldridge (she will issue another set of lipsticks for the summer, under her name) and Ali Andreea from Paris. As for the latter, I guess that when you are chosen by the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg to do her makeup for their National Day, you must be doing something right.

Colour Pop x Spice Girls (literally any makeup brand with teh Spice Girls, as a group, just Victoria Beckham doesn’t count)

I’d love to see a Temptalia colab with any brand (as long as their are not crazy luxury)

I am not swayed by collabs. If I like the brand and the collection, I don’t much care how it came to be or whether it has a theme. That being said, I have so much admiration for the quads you create from existing palettes that I would love to see one from you. I guess ColorPop is the most realistic brand, but I wish it could be Viseart.

I wouldn’t be able to resist a Studio Ghibli collaboration with a high end brand. God tier collaboration – Pat McGrath and Prada <33 I think she did a fashion item collaboration with Prada for Selfridges, but I couldn't find pictures of the final result.

I personally find just about every Youtube “influencer” annoying so none of them for sure! I’ve tried to get through the video tutorials and reviews but I just can’t do it.
I don’t see why someone doesn’t get the idea to do a collaboration with Temptalia! Christine, I feel like you would never allow your name to be on a garbage product, I’m sure it would be well thought out, and the quality would be top notch!

Ho hum, another day, another Some Brand x Somebody. I’m over collaborations. I’ve bought enough to know that they are not that big of a deal and I prefer the permanent line. I’d be perfectly okay if this trend died down and everyone stay in their lane for a bit. I prefer my beauty and brands to be iconic (to me) and am appreciating more and more the brands that don’t do collaborations. Sometimes it’s even lowered the brand’s esteem for me.

I don’t remember it being this prolific, more that there were just brand spokespersons or ambassadors (i.e. Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence for Dior, Julia Roberts for . . .can’t remember). I didn’t mind that so much – didn’t care either way, but somehow it seemed fitting, some famous person with some expensive or iconic brand.

As for the rare occasion that I’ve enjoyed a collaboration, MAC x Jade Jagger (I didn’t even know who she was but just love that collection) and Estee Lauder x Victoria Beckham eyeshadow palette and Modern Mercury highlighter. The meh’s and disappointments are enough that I don’t get excited about collaborations anymore and it’s just an eyeroll for me.

One exception, if I had to choose: Mel Thompson x Sydney Grace. I enjoy the eye artistry (even though I’d never wear most of her looks) and she’s always been very gracious in promoting SG and SG’s quality is there. I think the collaboration would elevate both.

Totally misthought this one, because I immediately went to charity/donation collabs. I only find out about the influencers through collabs, rather than the other way round. St. Jude Chilren’s Hospital, Medecins Sans Frontieres, National Wildlife, Petfinder Foundation (starring Mellan, despite him not being a rescue, or maybe Patticake…)Audubon Society, usw. (Und so weiter/ like etc.)

The only collaboration that I’ve ever found that was some what decent was the Victoria Beckham and Estee Lauder one. None of the other ones have been spectacular or really memorable enough to make me spend my money on them. But I agree with a lot of other comments here that a Temptalia/Mellan/Colourpop collab would be something to get excited about. We know that you put so much work into your reviews that we don’t purchase anything until we come here first! And I too am over the moon about the Lady Gaga makeup collection that has been leaked out on social media, bring it on!

I am not really into ‘collabs” as such and I often find them a bit off key.
However, if you Christine and Mellon did one – well that would be fantastic.
I would certainly be interested if Michelle Obama did one with Sydney Grace……and all the proceeds were donated to a charity, like rebuilding people’s homes after tornadoes, hurricanes, bushfires etc.

You’re right, I bet there would be some great colors there: melange, spice addict blue, guild navigator, stillsuit, wind trap, mohadib (the mouse), the dream of a green dune, water from the sky, sardaukar, even museum freman (though I never managed to get through more than a few chapters of God Emperor of Dune).

I love the material culture in those books. A friend of mine doesn’t think they hold up that well over time, but I still love them.

Urban Decay x Nyma Tang, with a female adult theme. I think Nyma embodies elegance. Not these gimmicks collabs with Harry Potter, GOT, Kit Kat or whatever for kids.

By now in time I’d like to see an unfluencer, as I’m tired of most influencings. I know influencers work hard, doing work I couldn’t do, but it’s been too much drama, too much of too much lately, AND I really dislike the word. I know, I’m weird in very strange ways.
I’d buy a Mellan palette, though. And though Christine do influence me, I don’t count her/you as an influencer as you do super honest reviews with a grading system that is transparent and easy to understand, and you give out bad grades and good ones as deserved.
I do like some influencers, don’t get me wrong, I just dislike it when there’s never a bad product mentioned, and (for fear of not staying on the PR-list?) only the very good products are mentioned, never a less than good seems to exist.
But this wasn’t the question, so I’ll just stop my rant here. 🙂
I could go for a colab with a charity preferably some nature/animal one. Also I’d want all the proceeds to go directly to the charity, not just a small percentage.
