I don’t know that I actually smile but they make me happy: Chanel Empreinte du Desert and Lumiere et Opulence quads; Buxom 24KT Stilettos, the Estee Edit Radiance Activator Treat+Prep+Glow (thank goodness it’s in airless pumps – I’ve got one or 2 backups plus the one I’m using and I don’t know what I’ll do when they’re finished); either Urban Decay Game of Thrones palette or ABH’s Mario palette (I’m leaning toward the latter…).

1.) High quality purple-tinged taupe eyeshadow, like Nars Callisto, SG x Mel Thompson Luv Bug, SG x Temptalia Phosphenes, Nyx Root Beer and Beanie, MAC Haux, and a few others.
2.) Same goes for purple EVERYTHING! Give me Menagerie Flight Club palette, SG x Temptalia Aurora and Celestial Bloom eyeshadows from Quintessence, ND Lila Palette, Viseart Amethyst Theory palette, PML
Dark Galaxy, MAC Heroine lipstick, UD Violate and After Dark lipstick, UD Bittersweet blush, Sephora Contour Liner in Purple Stilettos, UD x GOT 24/7 Eye Pencil in Dragon Smoke!
3.) Again, a category: a perfect red lipstick. Depending on mood and longevity desired, MAC Ruby Woo or Yoni Crush, UD Rock Steady, YSL Scout’s Red, or for something with a tinge of brown, PML Strangé.
4.) Chanel Empriente du Desert quad! This is the ULTIMATE bronzed, with a glorious green little eye look powerhouse! It looks like molten metal on my lids!
5.) YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche perfume! I’m gonna cry when this runs out. Of all my fragrances, this one just makes me feel so cozy, joyful and beautifully wafting through the crowd!
Happiness IS having purchased Chanel Empreinte du Desert all those years ago!!!
I remember loving the original Opium (40 years ago….how alarming!) I bought some in a spray bottle and it came with a little faux red lacquer (it was plastic) “locket” on a black tassel that held a tiny bottle of the perfume. I need to try out this newer version of Opium. It’s been a long time and I’d love to fall in love again.
Just five? Putting on makeup always makes me happy! But here are my five best:
1. Foundation – L’Oreal’s True Match in porcelain rose and now Fenty’s in porcelain – I love the way foundation evens out my skin tones and makes my skin look better.
2. Lipstick – either Maybelline’s Mauve for Me – a MLBB on me or the brand’s Spice For Me – just brightens up my whole face.
3. Eyeshadow palettes – Lorac’s Noir, PMG’s Sublime Mini and CT’s The Rebel – always make me smile
4. Blush -Clinique’s Melon Pop to add colour
5. Perfume – Clinique’s Aronmatics never fails to make me feel good.
Is perfume a beauty product ? Why of course Dior Addict perfume makes me smile, happy, feel even more like a woman. Maybe I am a Dior Addict addict 🤦♀️ . A discontinued YSL eyeliner Dessin #4 Bleu Insolent. Third: my Laura Mercier Candleglow #1. The more I buff it, the more perfect my skin becomes. Fourth: my 2 favorite Revlon lipsticks always make me happy and lastly my nasty, funky but wonderful smelling Crème De La Mer moisturizing cream….because you always have a love for the first boy who took you to the dance (metaphors on a snowy night in The Hudson Valley) and Le Mer was a game changer for me since 1991.
Lately it’s been my humble drug store hero’s Physicians Formula Mood booster blush and Glow Pearl’s blush …I swear between these two , I have purged so many highlighters and blush because this does it all..
Also my Forest Berry Moisture surge Antipodes lipstick …it’s the perfect brightening red.
I don’t actually smile but I really enjoy the routine of using my L’Oreal Everstrong shampoo, then my Garnier Banana Mask, then my Elizavecca CER 100 Collagen Ceramide Coating Protein Treatment, then my L’Oreal Everstrong conditioner and then using my Cuccio Cuticle Oil in Milk and Honey.
I didn’t take care of myself at all for the longest time, so I enjoy the ritual now.
