Hm, I am sure that the quality is great and everything, and I am not a bold color kinda gal, but it looks a bit repetitive and, dare I say it, dull? Like the four rows and three columns on the top left could probably have been edited down from 12 shades to 2 or 3 and you wouldn’t be missing anything. It probably isn’t something I would look twice at, honestly.
So this is the same palette with smaller amounts of magnetized shadows? Mmm I already own the original Grande Pro 1 palette so this is a skip for me. I thought Viseart was going to release a new Grande Pro 4 palette soon.
Since this is all-matte, I wonder what they consider to be “transformer shades”? That phrase is usually used to describe sheer, shimmery shadows (in my experience).
I have the suspect that half of this palette will look identical 🤔
That is one overwhelmingly HUGE palette (though for makeup artists, it would be very practical). Even if I were into matte shadows and an all matte palette, I would just find this so overwhelming as to be confusing. I can’t even begin to imagine what the price tag will be on this behemoth!
What’s the difference between this and their first grande pro palette?

I’m so over these giant palettes. They’re probably great for makeup artists – especially Viseart’s – but I can’t handle adding a huge palette to my collection. I know Viseart is a well-loved brand, but I’ve got one of their 6-pans and never reach for it. The shadows are kind of lackluster and thin.
I totally get it that makeup artists need the right products on set to work with a wide range of skin tones. I feel it’s essential for companies to produce a wide and inclusive range of foundation, concealer, blush shades, lip and eye colors for people of ALL skin tones. That being said, the notion that there are universal offerings right for everyone is nothing but a marketing myth. Every time I read that word, I cringe. I know that there are plenty of products and indeed product lines that don’t work for my specific coloring. I admire them on other people and buy the ones that work for me, and don’t include a lot of shades I will never use. When there was a lack of purple or green, which I wear, but have at different times been less available, I sought out the companies that offered them. If no one made any products that worked for me, I would feel excluded and frustrated, and it’s unfair that this happened for anyone. I was thrilled when ND at last made the Trichrome Palette after years of warm palettes. But unless one were a MUA, what is the point for a consumer of a large pricey palette, most of which one would never use? Let the MUA’s rejoice– this is for them and not the average consumer– unless one has money to burn.
Ooooh I normally never go for these huge palettes, but I love how easily removable the pans are!! I have a bunch of shimmer/satin shadows in small z-palettes and could add these Viseart mattes to them. I think the promo pic makes too many colors look the same, but if you read the descriptions, the colors all seem different. Definitely interested!
This looks amazing, and actually has more “fun” colors and variety than the original! And it is totally true, as someone mentioned upthread, that it is almost impossible to show the difference between colors in a photograph, where a black, deep navy, dark purple, dark brown, and dark gray may all look like the same color.
I also really like that Viseart is moving to standardize their pan size around their Pétit Pro, Edit, Pétit Fours, and Étendu palettes. And that in this type of format, none of the shadows are land-locked. They can all be plucked out and the appropriate amount of pigment can be carefully, tidily scraped off, without crossing one’s fingers while jabbing and scooping with a palette knife and hoping that a single slip doesn’t destroy that shadow and scatter its color over 4 or 5 others in the process.
I have hooded eyelids and live in a city that is famous for its eye-watering, year-round allergies. I also love to experiment with color. If I want my eye look to be more than just eyeliner and mascara, and last more than an hour, I use waterproofing liquids, mixing mediums, makeup glues, and/or fixing sprays on myself and others. I see a lot of tutorials where people are told to just put those products on their brushes and dip them right into their eyeshadow pans, without ever mentioning that doing so will very quickly destroy their eyeshadows. So I think that’s what they might mean by “transformative” here, that they have added more mixing shades. It is a confusing word for them to use.
One of the things that can make Viseart seem so boring is that their palettes cost a lot of money and often come with no color story and usually come with the same utilitarian packaging. But that is precisely what makes them attractive to me: they look like art supplies. They are art supplies.
This gives me the same feeling of excitement as seeing a set of $200-300 dollar colored pencils. And I can mix in pans from their other palettes and have exactly what I need for the faces I am painting that day. It even folds out into an easel!!
I want this. It’s in the same price range as a Natasha Denona or Pat McGrath palette, whose palettes I also love.
