Branding a line of neutrals palettes with varying tones as “Naked” made sense. Continuing to call whatever random color scheme a “Naked” palette doesnt. It’s like this brand is just so insecure about what it has to offer they can’t step away from what they do over and over and over again for fear no one will be interested. Alas, I’m not interested.
AMEN to that, Brian! We can sit back and watch the comments incoming on this, though 🍿😁
I came here to say this! I don’t get it at all. Why discontinue your actual nude/neutral palettes called Naked but then call palettes with vibrant colors naked?? It makes no sense.
It looks like it may be decent quality for the majority of the shades, especially used with glitter primer, but….”Naked”??? I am sooo confused when it comes to Urban Decay these past few years. Like, geesh, PURPLE, PERIWINKLE, BLUE=Naked? 😵💫
i saw a comment on one of the posts that beyond it being a collaboration that it might be “naked” for the alien ladies on the cover lol. They very easily could have labeled the collab differently though so its very tiring
I would have LOVED to have seen this done in the much higher quality, larger Vice palette, Raven! Besides, for “Aliens”, I think we need a few greens, electrum platinum, gunmetal and black to accompany this selection of shades…👽🛸🧟🚀
Nancy, not that UD makes sense lately but someone commented here last week that if it meant NAKED related to the aliens in the packaging images it actually made sense…
Dare I say that this might be a decent palette from UD? Of course it doesn’t relate to anything in the ‘Naked’ line, but we will let the brand have its fantasies of past glory……I don’t think it’s a particularly cohesive palette though – with the orange and red shades, with that matte lilac/blue shade that looks out of place here. We’ll see how the review goes.
this feels like a combo of naked 1 (that’s long gone now) & naked 3.
cannot wait for your review.
thanks for the swatches!
“The Naked Palette was created to supply women and men with all their must-have shades to create their favorite looks—the ‘no makeup’ makeup look, to the office appropriate, to the dramatic and sexy smoky eye, and everything in between,
Naked is successful because it’s the palette you reach for when you say goodbye to one version of yourself and hello to your new makeup self. It’s the epitome of makeup evolution right before your eyes, and evolution is, as always, the key.” Wende Zomnir
Meh, this color story isn’t impressive and I’m not living the artwork style either. The swatches look dry and dusty, as if they’re going to sweep away with a brush like bread flour. You’re on fire though, posting all the swatches today. Your arm must be sore already, but I’m thankful, you’re saving many of us a lot of money.
For those wondering about Naked – the idea is to make these color stories more wearable – take neutral shades + a few trendy accent shades. 🙂
That makes sense for the Wild West palette story, but not this one.
Jess, you nailed it! The Wild West has a much more cohesive color scheme, and just two accent shades, not FOUR.
I don’t buy that. They’re trotting out Naked because it’s a successful franchise that they’re trying to squeeze the last bits of relevancy from.
If folks’ like this, that’s great, but UD is not a brand I have confidence in anymore.
Home Planet is just beautiful!! I’m wondering if it’s available alone.
For me, if they would only produce a great eyeshadow formula like in the old days, they can call the palette whatever they want to.
I feel like I would only be buying this because it’s interesting packaging. If you’re like me and don’t wear blues, it’s tons of shades you already have from UD and others. Let’s hope they get back to original factory settings quality wise.
I like the color scheme, but concur that “Naked” just doesn’t apply. That said, I have these colors, so a pass. But perhaps nice for someone new to palettes and needing a one-stop, subtle day-to-night palette with light pigmentation.
