Top 100 Beauty Products of 2014

Thanks for the fun, 2014! Here is a wrap-up in case you missed any of the top 10 lists this year, which doubles as my top 100 beauty products that I tried during the past year. This has been the most productive year on record for me, personally, in regards to reviewing products. I was a lot better this past holiday season at turning around palettes and sets, which is a major feat for me! Thank you for your continued readership during the year, and I hope you’ll stick around to see what 2015 has to bring for all of us.

May your 2015 be filled with love, laughter, good health, and joy! Happy new year! 🙂

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

The statistics are amazing! Thank you for all that you do, you are very appreciated. You can always be counted on for the most accurate of reviews, you are always responsible and unbiased in all that you do, be it something valued at $5 or $100, they are judged and held to the same standards. You aren’t at all swayed by advertising or hype attached to products, because of this I am able to make informed choices, and I can know ahead of time what I am getting into, whether it is a A+ recommended product, or a C product that I fall in love with because of the packaging, I just know without a doubt what to expect. I also just love to come here to escape each day to relax, love reading all the comments from other readers. You always give so much time and attention to all your readers, it’s so easy to feel connected to you on such a personal level, you have created such a great caring community. On the surface someone might first see this blog as about superficial products, but it isn’t at all, it’s just what brings us all together in common ground, it is so much deeper and it doesn’t take much to see that. You are amazing at what you do, and thank you for a beautiful 2014, I am looking forward to what 2015 has in store for all of us!

It is funny, because a lot of brands build themselves on stories and the like, and while stories can be fun, I find I am like, “Just get to the product, what’s that like?” So it is really awesome that you noticed that 🙂

Thank you so much, Karen! I really appreciate you taking time each day to stop in, read the new posts, and comment. I love hearing your thoughts on new product releases and what you’re loving (or hating!).

Happy new year!

Just when I’ve resolved myself to buy less makeup in 2015, you post your Top 100 products. Life is not fair! Hahahha….but seriously, thanks SO much for your honest and detailed reviews, along with your dupe recommendations. With companies cranking out a sea of new products everyday, I don’t know what I would do without your blog. I read other blogs but no one comes even close to what you do. I have so much fun reading your blog everyday. Keep up the great work, thanks so much for all your work in 2014 and talk to you soon in 2015!

Happy New Year, Christine! Thank you for all the wonderful, timely, honest, beautifully photographed posts you make every day <3 Temptalia is on my daily reading list, even before (especially before) the thesis stuff, LOL! May you have a wonderful 2015, with much success and happiness in all your endeavours!

Thank you also for all the support you have shown my ramblings this year, it has meant so much to me, and I wouldn't have fallen into the wonderful beauty blogging community nearly so quickly or easily or had so much fun without you and Temptalia <3 🙂

IS SOMEONE CHOPPING ONIONS IN HERE?!

Christine Avatar

Oy, who put these onions here? Don’t they know we’re not wearing waterproof mascara today?

Thank you so much, Sylirael 🙂 I look forward to hearing you say you’re done with your thesis, if only to see more rogue adventures. Because I’m selfish 🙂

THANK YOU, Christine! For tirelessly offering (in my opinion), literally the best makeup advice, reviews and photos, I’ve ever come across. Looking so forward to more of your love, in 2015! You’re truly AMAZING!!!!!!! XOXOXO

I loved pretty much all (I think maybe one or two I wasn’t IN LOVE with) of the Rouge Gs they did this year, but I feel like they didn’t release as many showstopping cheek/face products (nothing like Wulong, you know?). Plus, they don’t release a ton of stuff! I loved the eyeshadows in the holiday palette but those blushes made it a no-go for a rec!

Christine,
I wish you and your husband a very happy new year!!!
thanks for all the great job you’ve doing and sharing with us!
Love you!

Although there are a lot of amazing beauty bloggers I don’t think anyone could argue with you being THE top all round reviewer specializing in high end releases. I don’t buy a thing without consulting your site and I look forward to reading what you have to say about new releases over anyone else! Great work Christine!

Just wanted to drop in and say thank you for another fantastic year of thoughtful reviews and gorgeous swatches! I’ve been reading your blog for about 4 years now (since I was a sophomore in college!) and am so appreciative of all the effort and time you put into all of your posts. Reading Temptalia is one of my favorite ways to unwind at the end of a tough week, and it’s always such a great resource. Thank you for doing what you do 🙂 Wishing you a very happy new year!

Thank you for everything that you do! Your reviews, swatches and pictures are an invaluable source for me – your site is always my first place to check. It’s such a joy seeing what new products you will be talking about each day. Keep up the fantastic work in 2015 and may you be granted all the teal liners you like. 🙂
