Years ago, I used Coty Airspun and thought I liked it. But now I look at old pics of myself and I look so powdery, it’s like I can see it just sitting on top on my make-up.

Never tried it but I have not bought from them in over a year and I’m not planning too again.

Rice setting powders in general. They never seem to be refined enough.

I use MUFE powder daily and have religiously since the dawn of time it seems. Its been so long since I used anything else but I seem to remember a Pallido rice powder I used ages ago that made me ghostly white no matter how lightly I applied it. I think I still have it though somewhere in my tower of makeup… Perhaps I can find a use for it.

Now, I know a lot of people will disagree…but I think MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is the worst. It does nothing to mattify, which might be great for some, but not for me. It also has absolutely no coverage, just kind of blurs lines a little.

It also will give you a ghostly glow because of the blurring effect it has. Also, it is the WORST for settling into pores. I didn’t even know powder could settle into pores with a primer and foundation, but this one does, no matter what.

It smudges and migrates easily too. A huge waste of $29.

You don’t need to have an attitude about it, though. It can be used to set foundation. MAC Fluidlines are supposed to be eyeliners, but you can use them for eyeshadow bases too. Food for thought.

I think her point was that msfn isn’t a mattifying or setting powder, so it’s unfair to say it sucks at doing that. Likewise, it’d be unfair to say fluidlines are bad bases if they’re meant to be eyeliners.

If it’s not a setting powder or a mattifier, and leaves a NATURAL finish, what exactly is the point and why is it worth $29? I did not like this product, I really liked Napoleon Perdis, and Clinique.

It is “technically” a powder foundation (like studio fix, just lighter coverage) and is geared towards those with drier skin, which explains why it makes oily people oilier. I’m not defending it, cuz it’s not my powder of choice either, but just sayin…

I agree, but the site does say “Provides perfect low coverage. Use to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day.” So a lot of people would think that it could be used as a setting powder.

The worst setting powder I have ever used is the Revlon Photoready pressed translucent powder! While I LOVE the liquid foundation, the powder that goes with it is HORRIBLE, just terrible. It’s glittery and makes me look so cakey!

I hate the Coty Airspun translucent extra coverage. I have pink undertones and even this is WAY toooo pink on my skin. And like Lee, I find it to look too powdery. But I love the smell of it. I think I need to try to the plain old translucent version. I’ve heard that it does come in some tinted versions, but I think my Walgreens only carries the 2 translucent versions. boo.

I have to agree about the Revlon Photo ready pressed powder. Awful stuff! And yes, the foundation is great. I don’t know how they could hit so well with one product and miss by such a mile with the next….

Revlon Photo Ready. I made the mistake of buying the “translucent” white color. I was quite surprised to find that it was FULL OF GLITTER. Moreover, it was the chalkiest powder I’ve ever used. One swipe with their cheap little brush and there would be a dust storm. Iiiick.

I hat to say it, but it’s MAC Prep and Prime Transparent Finishing Powder. It gives my skin a really matte finish and sets my Face and Body foundation all day long, BUT it breakes me out! In the beginning I thought it’s the foundation, but it’s the powder. Giving me more red spots is the reason why it is the worst setting powder for my skin.

Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder in Sunny Beige!
If your looking for oil-control and setting make-up, it doesn’t do either! It cakes up in dry areas even if I properly moisturized. And it contains Bismuth Oxychloride which makes my skin itch when I sweat (the ingredient is also found in the original Bare Minerals, etc.) !!

Max Factor translucent powder is absolutely horrid on my skin. 🙁 I’ve heard great things about the brand though. Too bad the powder made my skin look ashy-orangey.

Happy holidays Christine and readers! 🙂

Coty Airspun.
The smell is terrible, and it just sits on the skin, making it look crepey and chalky. I know many people who use this and it ages them so badly.
