Yeah, the Revlon ones are pretty bad. I think I got either British Red or Target Red (at Target, obviously). Whichever it was, it was lousy. It did not go on or stay smooth.

Some of the Aveda ones. I like the fact that they are mostly plant based and organic and all that but they dry out so fast after purchase that I had to throw away 4 or 5 of them (having barely used them). The application on my lips felt so rough and no color was showing at all (even when I tried on a piece of paper!). It just hurt my lips dragging the “stick” of lipstick. So not worth it!

rimmel red diva…it smells like soap and it’s too sheer and shiny – kind of pathetic. used to use it all the time, oh dear. in fact, i really don’t recommend any cheap lipstick.

mmm…anything that my mom wears! She likes the stuff that is burnt and orangey AKA a hot mess! And they’re all cheapo brands like Jordana and St Tropez or whatever else she likes to pick up at the hair store on her lunch break LOL… I gave her MAC Brick-O-La and she lurved it! I tell her to stop being so cheap and care about the stuff she wears LOL…

another bad red was a halloween lipstick I got from walmart the other day. It was a dollar so I shouldn’t have expected too much LOL…

A really horrible red lipstick is Wet n Wild, or those really cheap $1 brands. I love Russian Red and Ruby Woo by MAC. They go well with my porcelain skin.

I like the rimmel “alarm” except for the taste. It’s a good mostly true red with maybe a small touch if blue, but it doesn’t turn pink or into lipliner.

Im looking for a perfect red…outside of Russian Red…I love Russian Red! The 1st time I wore it was to my senior prom in 2007 & I have been wearing it ever since. I didnt think black girls could pull off a red lip! But I was pleasantly surprised!!

The only red I’ve tried (and didn’t like) was by Maybelline; I think it was called Cherry Red or something. It wasn’t long-lasting, and it was a bit too shiny for my taste. I have only been “into” lipstick recently, though, so I can’t tell you for sure, ha ha ha. That Aveda one sounds terrible, though!

Oh man, I think I tried some L’Oreal lipstick that was just terrible. I’ve also tried NYC & it was way too orangey. I stick with MAC Dubonnet & Rocker–I’m pale & have a neutral-cool undertone to my skin so anything with too much red/orange/yellow in it makes me look gross.
