MAC Just Add Color… I love the texture, love the color, the creamy feel and the fact that I just need one layer to fully cover my lips!

Sonia Avatar

I TOTALLY agree! It’s hard to believe that its a lipgloss. I know people were raving about True Babe, but Just Add Color beats it hands down. If you can get your hands on one, I totally recommend it 😀

ive never actually owned one but ive swatched them in sephora and i think makeup forever’s glossy full couleur are really pigmented! judging from your swatches the illamasqua intense lipgloss are also looking really opaque!
…but im satisified with my semi opaque mac lipglass 🙂

I’m never sure exactly what category they’re in, but for me OCC Lip Tars take the cake on this one. They’re the texture of a gloss but dry a little. As anyone who’s seen them knows, the tiniest drop covers your whole mouth & it’s opaque and gorgeous color! Plus the fact that there’s a whole rainbow & they’re perfect for mixing!

I love p2! A friend in Germany got me the most beautiful color, Bridget Bardot! :] It is really pigmented and opaque, with a great creamy-ness to it with shine! Do you know how else to get them without going all the way to Germany? :p
what color(s) have you tried? :]

Julia Avatar

Haha!
I think so too!
I love those lipglosses but i don’t think that they’re lipglosses… they’re called “lipcream” actually.
I’ve tried Rita Heyworth

julia Avatar

i’ve tried one of those ones too and i totally agree.
but to my mind they’re called “lip cream” instead of “lip gloss”.
my colour was rita heyworth but i am definetly willing to try another one.:)

Mac lipglass in Russian Red!

PS I think reading your blog has been a bad shopping influence, today I went to Mac and had my first big haul !

I would definitely say Illamasqua intense lipglosses!! They win for me because they are bam in your face with the same color as in the tube!! Especially the ones in Fierce and Move which I have and Love!!

Mac Cremesheen glass and tinted Lipglass are the most opaque. The darker coral, brown and plum shaded show up true to color on my lips.

Fyrinnae Lip Lustres. Not quite a gloss, but it’s really slick (non-sticky) lip color opaque in one swipe. The ones I’ve tried have a metallic finish. They’re intense and extremely affordable.

it’s funny that my vote would be for something that i haven’t used yet! i’m going to say the illimasqua ones that i’ve seen you use on the site recently – they seem ultra opaque! i don’t know that i’ll get any of them (okay, well maybe that light purple! haha) cause i think if i wanted an opaque gloss, i’d just mix one up (usually i wouldn’t want an opaque gloss tho).

Kaylee Avatar

Definitely the Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss. All the colors are so vibrant and totally opaque on my lips, so opaque that there’s absolutely no need for a stain or lipstick underneath.

Bobbi Brown Rich Colour Gloss is my absolute favourite!!! I don’t know if it is necessarily the most opaque, because I’m sure there are many I have yet to try, but I like that it has high coverage without compromising on the “glossiness”. Some full colour glosses end up looking more like liquid lipstick in my opinion. In plus, the Bobbi Brown ones smell and feel amazing… so big thumbs up from me. 🙂

I have a few of the Bare Escentuals Full Color lipglosses and they’re true-to-name. They’re opaque on me and you get a cooling tingly plumping bonus! Love ’em.

Missy Avatar

I know they’ve got a couple different kinds of gloss now, so I should clarify: I’m talking about the Full-Color Buxom glosses.

The discontinued (probably because it felt like Elmer’s glue on the lips) Dior Plastic Gloss. Gosh that stuff tasted nasty but it was very opaque and stayed on until you scraped it off.

Surprisingly, the new spring/summer collection from Revlon. I found that all of the colors (Lilac, Coral, etc) are super pigmented, but the Coral Reef color is by far the most opaque! Plus they’re only like 6 bucks! =)

Jakara Avatar

I definitely agree with you about the new revlon lipglosses. I also have some nars lipglosses that ate really opaque. boogienights come to mind.

I feel like the L’Oreal HIP Shine Struck Liquid Lip things (can’t remember the rest of the name for the life of me, don’t feel like walking to the bedroom to find one XD) are ridiculously pigmented. I don’t think they even feel like a gloss. They’re so creamy, too! I just wish there were some lighter colors. I feel like they’re all more winter/fall shades.

By experience, I’d have to say OCC Lip Tars. Unbelievable! Unfortunately, I find them a bit drying and just too extreme. Haven’t learnt my lesson, though. I just ordered two of the Illamasqua Intense lip glosses from Sephora. Looking forward to trying them out but have no qualms with returning them if they’re ridiculously intense.

condesa Avatar

I would say Dior Crème de Gloss together with Chanel Rouge Allure Laque… those are very pigmented and NOT sheer! Like a liquid lipstick!

Simone Avatar

I would say Illamasqua’s in general, the sheer ones are actually very pigmented and the intense are just amazing! also NARS Bloodwork is like liquid lipstick

sophie Avatar

the most opaque lipgloss i’ve ver had in my collection is MAC’s Russian Red Lipglass
you wouldnt know it’s a lipgloss unless you were told 🙂

Chanice Avatar

I’m all for L’Oreal HIP Lip Glosses, those bad boys come on so strong I have to use only a little so as to not over do. They can also be ‘diluted’ with a balm or a clear gloss for sheerer color.

I like the glosses in the squeeze tubes as well as the plastic tubes with applicators.
