The one perfect red for me was Browned Down Red by Jane. Its been years since Ive seen it, though. It may not exist anymore.

I think MAC, NARS, AVEDA, and Chanel do the best reds! I don’t have a fave color though. Lately, since the beginning of fall, I have been doing a lot of red lips and have been using Chanel lip lacquer in Dragon, MAC Rose Go Around from the Color Forms collection, and NARS Manhunt as well as 2 AVEDA lipglosses Poppy & Jamberry.

I really love MACs O red lipstick. Its not to dark or light. Its just right for my skintone.
Honestly red lipstick is dependent on skin tone. Because all reds have undertones of pink, blue, gold, etc. Since I have a light olive complection my fave reds are MAC Ruby Woo and Rimmel Alarm. I tend to like bluish undertones because supposedly it makes my teeth look whiter!
Mac’s Russian Red. Stays on like iron.
I have to agree with Kat Von D lipstick in Underage Red. I usually dont wear reds but i love this color <3!
I can’t decide. I love all of those:

– Chanel “Barcelona Red” (or Chanel “Russet Moon” which is a dupe)

BY far thee best for every skintone would have to be MAC’s Port red.
I have 48 tubes of red lipstick, all different except for backups- and the backups that I have are of Port Red and The ORIGINAL UD Gash. I also love Russian Red as mentioned above, and Too Faced’s Drop dead red is literally to die for (for a bloody sexy lip! Pun intended 😉
Agree!!!! Totally love Port Red! MAC best red yet for lipstick. Lip glass was New Years Eves going back like almost ten years ago for their Holiday collection!
Mac’s brave red. It’s gorgeous, creamy and opaque. It brightens your face. Awesome.
I second MAC Brave Red! It was a recent purchase for me, and I love it. I also use L’Oreal True Red, a long-time fave.
I 3rd O! It’s a great color for my skintone. I also love MAC Brave Red, Russian Red and Viva Glam I.
MAC’s Dubonnet or Viva Glam 1. You CAN actually leave home without them, because they will -not- wear off! It’s a beautiful thing.

For work I like wearing Nars Afghan Red which is more like a brown based wine
when I wore red for dramatic impact I loved MAC’s Dubonnet and Nars Fire Down Below is another good one. I remember when Russian Red first came out in ’94 – dried the hell out of my lips but it was such a fierce color. I remember wearing that on top of a lipliner called fudge (prescriptives, maybe?) for that trademark 90’s brown red lip!

My fave was a YSL one, unfortunately discontinued.
I like Russian Red, it’s matte, but not as dry as Ruby Woo.
But I really want to try Viva Glam I and also Dubonnet (as it’s an amplified, my fave finish).
I like MAC Brave Red or MAC Viva Glam 1. For a more casual look, I line with Duwop Reverse Lipliner. For more shine, I add Lipstick Queen Big Bang Gloss in Energy – a shiny chrome red.

MAC Brave Red
I love Retro Red by NYC. It’s cheap and very forgiving on different skin tones!
I looooove (and cant choose between) MAC RED, Mac Ruby Woo and Gosh Lambada!
MAC Ruby Woo. It works very well with my light skin and brown hair.
I love reds! Bright red, dark red, brownish-red, blue-red, you name it. My all time favorite red lipstick though is Lancome’s Sugar Maple. I have seveal tubes of it in various formulation. Unfortunately I just realized last week that they no longer make *any* lipstick in that color:( The reason I like it so much is that even though it’s definitely red (albeit brown-red) it’s still a work-appropriate color.

I like NARS Red Lizard, topped with MAC lipglass in Pure Vanity. A very bold and glossy red lip that stays on forever.
Illamasqua Encounter, MAC So Scarlet, NARS Flaming Dust, Kat von D Hellfire, and Lancome Berry Sensual are probably my top reds, but I LOOOOOVE reds and
….can’t pick just one. (sorry, hit reply too soon! ^^J)
Since I can’t do the blue based red lipsticks, I use MACs Brave Red. It’s so smooth and is just the right shade!
The best for me would be Chanel Rouge Allure in Lover (NC45). So creamy, slightly shiny, perfect movie star red.
Other great reds : Chanel Rouge Hydrabase in Barcelona Red, Dior Creme de Gloss in Rouge Nectar.
My current faves are Shu Ueumura RD #165, Lancome Color Design in Berry Sensual, MAC Lady Danger, and Armani Shine #8.
My favorite reds are Vincent Longo’s Cherry, Fore-plush, Lust, Dakota Red and Americana. I swear, that brand make the best lipsticks, any color, hands down.
My fave is MAC’s New York Apple, more of a pinky red on my lips.
I find Viva Glam I a little bit to strong for my face, I usually need to tone it down with lots of blotting.
Now I want Russian Red!
For a bright red, MAC Russian Red. It’s the perfect red for me – not too pink or too orange. For a darker red, I like the color of Kirsch mattene, though I don’t love the mattene formula.
one of my all-time fave reds was Club Monaco’s Ruby Slipper which is unfortunately obsolete now. it was the perfect bluish red that totally fit my medium skintone. 🙁

Im scared of bright reds so I opt for MAC house wine. A classic muted red.
Im a NC20 in Mac and 020 in Dior Nude foundation…
The best Red on me is Estee Lauders Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Red Apple. I think it works because it has a pink undertone and goes on like a Mac Lustre but is buildable and very soft for the lips.
I also love:
Macs : Brick O La , Ruby Woo, Viva Glam I, and Stilas Ava (which is no longer available ugh).
I guess a red with brown tones or plum tones works, but heck I rock the Ruby Woo anyways!
My fav red lipstick is 535 in Passion Red by maybelline…I love it bc is very moisturizing, shiny and it’s the perfect red for fair skin
For me it is definitely MAC Red lippy. I just find it a more intense red than Russian Red and it doesn’t have the drying effect either. Am wearing it today and it is now 4.50pm…only retouched it twice 🙂
Its not a lipstick, its a lip gloss, but I lurve this color-vincent longo costa fiore. Its a great color for women of color such as myself.

I purchased MACs Red She Said last December and thats the best red shade in my opinion. I do love New York Apple though, I get so many compliments when I wear it!
My favorite is MAC Kanga-rouge, it’s a perfect bright red for my olive skin. Sexy!!

I love Lipstick Queen. They have the best reds in saint or sinner. I wear the rouge sinner and i love it. It is the perfect texture!
Maybelline 535 Passion Red and Benefit Frenched are my two favourites although the Maybelline is much easier on my purse.
