I kind of like my MAC 239. That is what I learned to use when I first got into makeup. You can pat, sweep, and still have control over the color.

Mac 239! You can use it for minor blending, precise eyeshadow application, and smudging shadow on the lower lashline. It’s very soft as well!

Mac 217 would be a close second as it’s great for smooth shadow application on outer corners and crease. It’s so soft and the size ia perfect for me. Too bad its too fluffy to apply eyeshadow on the lower lashline.

MAC 239 shader brush, because it’s a multitasker. If I’m short on time, I can use this one brush to sweep color on my lid, again in my crease, blend and highlight, and line my lower lashline. It works with cream and powder too, so that’s a big plus!

Hmmm….this is tough. I have an old Benefit brush that I love for shadow on the lid. But also, some of my Bobbi Brown brushes are faves. I also like Smashbox shadow brushes.

Mine is a double ended smashbox brush i got in a gift set about 6 years ago. It has no number and I havent been able to find anything like it from then which is very annoying.

I have deep set eyes so little lid space and the head on this shader brush is a bit smaller than most shader brushes (without being as small as a detailer) I have ever came across which makes it perfect for me. It is soft but firm, washes well, picks up and packes on colour perfectly, pretty sure its natural hairs. I wish smashbox had this brush in there regular line as I would love to have a few extra.

Definitely MAC #217. It applies color, it blends, it’s great for the crease and brow highlight. I can smoke out colors with it. I can use it for liquids, powders, and creams. This means everything from my paint pot, eyeshadows/pigments, and buffing concealer. Fabulous brush.

Of course my 1st runner up would be the MAC #224. I can do all of the above things I just mentioned like using a MAC #217 HOWEVER it doesn’t pick up as much product, sooo if I wanted to go for a more dramatic look, it would take me a lot longer to get the same effect. Although, 7224 is better for buffing concealer than a 217. I also like the 224 foe highlighting and contouring.

Whew!! Okay. I’m done. 🙂

I actually really love the Studio Tools crease brush! It’s great for all over lid, crease, blending, and highligh., it’s great!!! Plus it’s only $2.00 at Target! You can’t beat that!

I have that brush and I absolutely Love it! IT’S AMAZING. i’ve had it for a year and half and it hasnt shed once and it’s stil just as soft as it was when i first got it!

Sephora blending eye brush #29. It’s quite similar to MAC 217, but the bristles are shorter and the head is less fluffy, making it easier to control (for me anyway). It’s good for placement and smoking out, especially if you have smaller eyes. It’s my favorite eye brush in my collection.

I have some really nice natural bristles (pony hair) that I bought from a wholesaler who sold some things for cheap on their auction site. Generic brush that had no brand, and it was pretty good. I also love eco-tools’ eye shading brush. Fluffy! Great for an all over wash.

For straight up application: MAC 239. It really packs the color on! And for details and intense color pick-up, the MAC 219. LOOOVE THEM!

Mac 217 or anything similar. It’s gotta be domed, fluffy, but still stiff. Thats the types of brush thats the most versatile, use it for sweeping color, for packing it, for blending – lid, crease, brow, you can even use it to apply highlights on the face… it’s virtually unbeatable.

Mac 217 overall for me…I can do an entire eye look with the 239 alone, but some shadows are harder to blend out so I do way better using the 217 alone to do any entire look.

MAC 239 for sure it’s the jack of all trades eyeshadow application brush. My first brush was the 217 which i thought was great, until i got the 239 which was amazing. (the 217 is still good though!) I have 2 of the 239’s and i need to get a few more!

I love my MAC 239 to pack on color or do the crease, and my MAC 275 for all over lid application or a lighter wash of color, it’s soft and the angle of the bristles helps me get to the whole lid area easily.

I’d say Mac 217, because I found the 239 to be too scratchy on my lids. It somehow hurts, does anyone have the same problem? I don’t know if my skin is so sensitive..
