Temptalia Asks You - When you find something that works, do you stick with it?

When you find something that works, do you stick with it? Or do you move on quickly?

.

I do and I don’t. I tend to still try out new things, but I keep in mind my favorites and end up going back to them at another time.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Depends. I might try a sample of something new, while i still have more of the old one to stand by. There’s some items that, no matter how much i love my current one, i always want something “better”(UDPP and MAC painterly paintpot I mean YOU!) So a lot of items i wouldn’t necessarily repurchase, when there’s something else to try. But the essentials, I’d rather not mess with something that works!

I consider my “staples” to be Too Faced lipgloss in Envy Me, Diorshow Mascara, the UD eyeliner pencils, and UD ink for eyes. Everything else is replaceable, and whether or not i repurchase, depends on if theres any new releases I want to try first. I still want a primer that has more color than the UD one, and a paler color than Painterly. So even though i like the other products, i still keep my eyes open for something more in line with what i need.

i think i have the same answer with u.. i do stick with it for a while, but when i see something that is also interesting i will try a new one and if it doesn’t work, i’ll go back to my favorite..

Yes, especially when it comes to skin care including foundation/powder. The only foundation that doesn’t break me out is Revlon Colorstay. I tried so many along the way.

That’s why I am mad at MAC that they have got some limited edition skincare such as the volcanic ash exfoliator.

I love trying new makeup items but when it comes to skincare I feel I’ve now found the products that work best for me in all seasons so unless they get discontinued I will be sticking with them.

I’m similar to you. I love trying new products so I’m always getting new things, but I stick with certain basics like mascara and if I find skincare products that work well for me I try to be consistent.

Depends on what it is. For skincare, I try not to switch too much because it can tend to aggravate my skin more so. If something is clearly not working after awhile, I’ll switch to something I’ve used in the past that works. For color cosmetics, I try lots of things 🙂

With skin care, yes. With makeup, not really.
Because my skin is picky, I have to keep what works. The only products that I would try out others of after finding something that works is a face mask, just because it’s not something you use every day.
With makeup, if I buy something I love, I’ll keep using it. But with things like eyeliner, shadow, mascara, glosses.. I love buying new products to try out. I guess I’d only stick to foundation and concealer that work since it’s really hard for me to find a concealer and foundation that work.

Yes I stick with it until it doesn’t work for me or until I am sick of it. I would sample things on the side, but I would keep in mind what works for me and keep on going back to it.

Yes and No. Skin care/eyeliners I don’t tend to deviate from what I like. Because I haven’t found much better than I already have. Though I might pick something up every now and then I tend to go back to my original.

Jenny Avatar

skin care – yes because deviating has never done my skin much good (even if the product is very popular) but everything else I do keep an eye out for new and better things.

I’m the same as you. Even though I have a favorite product(s) that work for me, I still like to try new products just incase there is something better. Besides, trying new products is so much fun!

For skin care and “skin makeup” (I don’t know what else to call it, lol), once I’ve found something that works and doesn’t break me out, I stick with it. I’m soooo glad to be from skin issues now that I could never vary from my routine! For other makeup, though, I definitely try new things even once I think I’ve found my HGs.

certain items are staples like mascara and maybe my primer. e/s, lipstickas and lipglosses are always switching up because there’s always a new shade for something…

Yes, I try to. I like to try new products but have tried to stick to a few, especially skin care products. I don’t want to confuse the skin on my face! 🙁 But there are so many new items coming out, it is hard to resist not to try and experiment.
