Temptalia Asks You - What's your favorite makeup remover?

What’s your favorite makeup remover? Is it a removing wipe, liquid cleanser, cream? Tell us about it and why you love it!

I am so feeling Renee Rouleau’s AHA/BHA Cleanser. It’s a good mix of subtle scents, jojoba beads, and it really does clean off my makeup quite well. Napoleon Perdis’ Marshmallow Foam is awesome for removing eye makeup, because it’s ultra gentle (I have super sensitive eyes).

I use the new MAC Gentle Off Eye & Lip Remover (pink). My eyes are extremely sensitive due to contacts & this is great!!! I’ve also noticed that it seems to condition my eyelashes & eye area as well.

For face…Chanel purifying gel cleanser & toner (green) LOVE this stuff! It removes everything! And, it actually helps in the prevention of acne.

Right now for face makeup it’s Purity Made Simple by Philosophy. I’m currently trying to find an eye makeup remover that I like (I hate them all for some reason or another) but think I’ll revisit Lancome’s Bi-Facial after I finish off the Almay Pads I got a few weeks ago.

I really like MAC’s make remover wipes. They are gentle on the eyes, but they get all the makeup including the stubborn liquidlast eyeliner.

I agree w/ previous posts: had oil-based removers.

I have used the same one for years; you can only get in Canada. It’s by Shoppers Drug Mart, Life Brand, and it’s called Chamomile Eye Make-Up Remover. 🙂 I’ve never tried MAC’s make-up removers but I’d like to.

I like to use baby wipes. I first use a baby wipe to wipe off the make up. Works so well on face and eyes, and it comes off fast. After wards Ill go wash my face with my usual face wash. I keep baby wipes by my couch and when I am lazy ill grab one and wipe my face clean. Eventually ill go wash my face. Love it.

I have to agree with Naomi, I use baby wipes (unscented) of course! It removes every trace of makeup, even mac fluidline! Then I wash my face with my normal face wash.

Three votes for using wipes to remove all the gunky make-up stuff and then using a usual face wash product to do the rest. I use to use Cliqique Rinse-off Eye Makeup Solvent and its really great, not irritating at all and doesn’t leave that slimy, oily feeling most removers leave. I would still be using it if I hadn’t found out about using wipes instead – cheaper product and super easy to transport during travel in a zippy. On light eye make-up days I cut my wipes in half so as not to be so wasteful (cause they are cheap enough and a box lasts forever).

I’ve used Lancome’s Bi-Facial but found that I get the same result with L’Oreal Eye Makeup Remover at a fraction of the price. It’s super gentle and I use it all the time. It’s one of the very few makeup products I buy at the drugstore. I wear lots of mascara so a good makeup remover is essential! I’ve heard about using Vaseline but when I tried that it was a gloopy disaster.

Hi Temptalia! Love your site. Especially your interview with Dita, wow!

My fav removers are Lumene Sensitive touch, regular jojoba oil and also Lancome Bi-Facil. Jojoba is great because it’s so soft and non-irritating to my skin!

I love MAC’s Gently Off Eye and Lip remover. It easily takes off even waterproof mascara! My trick is to not use the remover with cotton balls – they soak up too much product. Instead I rip off one square of toilet tissue and use that. Then I B2M the empty bottle when I’m done.
