I´ve tried Dior Skin Shimmer in Amber Diamond (since you use it quite often) and I love it. I´d highly recommend it. It gives a very pearly glow, no glittery bits in sight! A perfect highlighter for me.

I recently tried the new Chanel mascara with the bizarre 6 sided brush.

I like it, and both my husband and my friend ‘the Make-Up artist’ both noticed my curled and full lashes…so I guess I would recommend it, but it is really expensive. There are probably others that would do something similar.

What I like about the colour is that it isn’t a harsh black. It makes my eyes look really white.

So, not a ringing endorsement but I say try it at the counter if you are intrigued–I got mine duty free and didn’t try it first.

I’ve really been wanting to try this mascara! I love Chanel’s Inimitable but I’ve always wished it would provide me with a little more volume, this sounds like it may be perfect. Thanks for the info!

Last thing I bought was Too Faced Caribbean in a Compact – Sun Bunny.
I haven’t got the hang of applying it yet lol, without looking like a clown but I’ll keep trying until I get it right.
Lovely colour, would suit anyone olive – dark skintone.

I have been trying Dior’s total capturle (spelling?) series of products. So far so good.
also trying out Clarins’ whitening serum, day cream, night cream, foaming cleanser, scrub, neck cream.

Hm.. yeah I went nuts and bought too much stuff.

I just switched to bobbi brown’s natural finish long lasting (liquid) foundation. It doesn’t irritate my face, has a nice even color that matches my skin exactly (it’s supposedly formulated for asian skin), and looks very very natural while not feeling heavy at all. I think it’s too expensive, but really pretty good.

I recently fell in love with MAC´s mineralize eyeshadows…bought Hot Contrast at a cosmetic counter and just received Heat/Element and Interview/Purple X from a very nice girl from MUA…
I am still waiting on Play on Plums and Two To Glow.
Now, if I could only get my hands on Ether and Mi´Lady… :o)
But I am hoping that these will be re-released with Mineralize some time in the future ( I read on specktra that there will be re-releases of e/s every 6 months for the Mineralize line, so: yay!)..

Laney Avatar

I’m thinking about swapping my Mi’Lady–used MAYBE 2x on each side. I’m DismalDamsel on MUA if you want to PM me and see if we can work something out!

I recently tried Givenchy’s Phenomen’eyes Mascara. Loved it at first, but after some time of continued use I’d have to say it’s probably not going to replace my mascara staples (YSL Everlong and Chanel Inimitable.

The ball-shaped applicator is cute though!

Just last night I tried Fresh’s Mamaku Night Serum, and it’s really nice! It soothed my sensitive skin instantly and I woke up to a nice soft face. =)

Fresh has some amazing products…when I worked at Sephora I tried like everything they had as far as skin care goes and wow!!! If you can, try there Sugar face mask/scrub…it has strawberries in it mixed with brown sugar..it works wonders and leaves like this nice silky feel to your face, plus even if you have bad acne it doesn’t bother it at all (some cleansers seem to irritate acne prone skin but this actually soothes it) anyways…this prod is great although it does cost $55…you get a lot of product and need just a small amount so its kind of a splurge of the good kind lol

Danielle Avatar

LM Tinted Moisturizer is actually considered to be the best on the market these days! fyi: their foundation primer is also really great too (it works well under ANY foundation…i’ve even used it under maybelline and it works great)

I just got a jane iredale mneralize makeup kit from my school. And i pulled out a loose foundation that matche my skin tone. I have reluctantly switched to mineralize powder for the summer. Anyway, it gives a great lite coverage that I really like.
I also just got my first mineral blush from mac in gentle. And it’s my new love.

Erin Avatar

I just bought a Bourjois invisible lipliner. I really like it! It helps to stop lipstick/gloss from bleeding, without having to worry about matching the colors exactly.

Asta Avatar

I just got tarte’s Smooth Operator foundation for their sale. Loving it…the right amount of coverage (medium), goes on beautifully, blends well. It stayed on through a wedding in 90 degree heat!

Nicole Avatar

MACs Splashpoof Lash mascara, because I needed s.th. waterproof.

Well, it is okay, but I search volume, length and definition after applying it the first time. I have to apply it several times to see some difference on my lashes. 2 positive issues, it is really water-, tear- and sweatptoof and it doesn’t clump like my Zoom Lash.

My conlusion. It’s okay, if you don’t have too many expectations and too high standards.

I am trying MAC Strobe Liquid to mix with my Stuido Fix Foundation or Revlon Colorstay Foundation (to try and make them less heavy/thick). I’ve only tried it a couple of days, buy sofar so good.

dee Avatar

The last I tried was Fresh Green Mix eyeshadow. I bought it the same time that I bought Odd Couple, and I hadn’t used it so much. I love it because it’s green/gold and not pure green, so it’s easy to work into my collection.

I recently tried the new gloss Aqualumiere Party red by Chanel and I absolutely love it!!!
That’s the perfect red for summer time 😉

Tekoa Avatar

Last one I tried was MAC Volcanic Ash. Its a product I enjoy. Unfortunatly, its sold out in 99.9% of MAC stores. Maybe they’ll relaunch it.

Laney Avatar

My friend who works at Sephora got me their Red Carpet Essentials kit before it even launched! So, I tried the shadow insurance, their Lash Injection Mascara, the color changing lipgloss (it really does turn my perfect pink!) and an e/s duo (the name escapes me right now). I love all of it! And her : D

We had a long conversation with Macaddict in one of the older posts,as a result i tried Ben Nye eyeshadows today,i love them!!!!!!!
Thank You Macaddict 😀

I tried Yes to Carrots body scrub…absolutely love it! I highly recommend it. The smell is also light…nothing like carrots at all. Just a fresh scent and my skin felt very smooth afterward.

Bonnie Avatar

I love Yes to Carrots! I buy their carrot lip balm to use on my cuticles- the fact that it is in a lip balm tube makes it less messy to apply when I’m out (instead of dipping into a little pot of cuticle cream)… their body butter is so nice, too. I haven’t tried the body scrub yet, though.

cloudburst Avatar

Last thing I bought was MAC Suncentered powder. It is very subtle on me (I’m pretty tanned right now) but in the sunlight it gives my skin a very pretty sheen.

Marni Avatar

I’m currently trying out Benefit “That Gal” as a primer and it’s working its wonders. I like the slight touch of pink to it as well.

jenn Avatar

I just bought Chanel’s Gold Fever glossimer(my first glossimer) & face powder & they are gorgeous!!! A great purchase! I also bought the gold fever nailpolish & its pretty, but I’m not sure if it was worth $30.

Courtney Avatar

MAC Bare and Funshine slimshines. I was hesitant to even try Bare — i don’t wear alot of nude lipcolors — but it is SOOOOOO pretty. I even posted a whole thread about it on Specktra.net 🙂

traca Avatar

i bought the tea tree line from the body shop over the weekend. its only been 2 days, and my skin is clearing up already. it wasnt bad to start with, but its def clearing my complexion.

bought my first nars product. blush and shadow…omg!!!!is all i can say.

Monica Avatar

MAC’S Sonic chic blush in pleasantry.. I love it.. is so smooth on application and you can build up color as much as you want or have a very subtle natural glow!!

Amanda23 Avatar

I think I’m the only one that doesn’t like the mineralized duos, and I’ve been trying really hard too! I just don’t like to “work” so hard to get the color payoff, and when I do they fade throughout the day. AHHH!! I don’t know what to do?

whitnee Avatar

Mac New View Duo in Light Medium. I used it as foundation mixed with the shimmer so my whole face was shimmery. I really loved it, and I think it’s simple to just put it on quickly if I don’t want to wear makeup, which to be honest, most days I don’t have the time (or perhaps I’m just too lazy to get out of bed sooner to make the time…) to put on makeup. I think with some lipglass I could look dazzling in under 2 minutes.

I also recently tried Lush cleanser – Angels on Bare Skin, and while I’ve only used it once, I love it. My chin is usually reddish, and I put concealer on it every time I wear makeup, and if I don’t then well, it’s just red. Anyways, when I got out of the shower, where I used AOBS, I looked in the mirror and it looked like I had already put on my concealer and foundation. My skin was nearly perfect, and when I put on my regular Dove moisturizer, my skin was GLOWING…LOL I’d never achieved a glow before without using makeup meant to fake it.

I’ve been on a spending spree lately, so my latest additions are:
Urban Decay’s 24/7 Liners – Not smudge proof for me on the water line but it doesn’t wear off like every other eyeliner I’ve tried.

NARS Orgasm Lipgloss – Amazing!

LUSH Ultrabland – works wonders as a makeup remover

LUSH Daddy-O Shampoo- got a sample of this and it had done wonders for my hair, definitely going to pick up the full sized bottle!

LUSH Marilyn Hair Mask – only used it once so far but I liked it!

LUSH Sexy Peel Soap – smells sooo yummy!

The last item I used was MAC eyeshadow in Blue Flame. Damn I’m in love with this colour! It’s so intense and when I line my eyes with it, it defines it so well and makes me look brighter. And when I use it as a shadow, it’s freaking sexy. 😀
