What sunscreen do you use? What’s the SPF?

I use a ton of different ones! Right now, I’m using a tinted moisturizer that has SPF 30 in it, so that gets me through most of my sunny day.

Avene or La Roche Posay SFP 50 for sensitive skins. I don’t know if those brands are known in America. In winter, I simply use a moisturing cream SFP 15. Starting from the end of April, I go for the SFP 50. It’s not that sunny on here but I sunburn very easily due to fair skin.
Nathalie –
What make is your SPF50? I am looking for something more than SPF15 or 20, which is what most day creams seem to be. I am definitely going to check out La Roche for the SPF30, but what about the SPF50? The only ones I see seem to be thick white beach ones.
Here is more about my products 🙂
– La Roche Posay – Anthelios XL ‘Fluide Extreme’ SFP 50. Fragance free. (50ml)
It is especially made for face, it is fluid, not greasy. Made of normal/combination skin with sensitive tendencies. It is extremelly wearable. Not thick at all and not whitening. I purchase this in ‘parapharmacy’ (not sure if you have this in your country). It also exists in SFP 30 fluid and SFP 30 cream. It is easily foundable in France, I don’t know where you live though. Maybe could you ask at stores if they have it. 🙂
– Eau Thermale Avène “très haute protection” SFP50 “normal to combination sensitive skin”.
This one is a very good moisturing also. From both, it’s my favorite. I use it as a day cream during summer with no problem (which is good if some areas of your face are dry). It is actually thicker than La Roche, just like a normal cream – nothing super thick either. It is also non-greasy, non whitening with a satin finish and it leaves my skin smooth and moistured. I apply my make up over it without problem! There is perfume in it but nothing too powerful or “typically sunscreen”, a nice fresh smell.
Both are very good products (I tried lots before finding them!). I hope it helped Julia and that you can find what you’re looking for! 🙂
Sorry – not reading properly! They are both La Roche Posay. Going shopping – many thanks for the tip!
I just got Eucerin for the face with SPF 30. Although I am not a big fan…its seems to be making my oily skin oilier. Can anyone with oily skin recomment a good sunscreen?? Thanks!
U HAVE TO BUY La ROCHE-Posay
Thanks so much Nice, I’m gonna chk it out.
I have sun allergies and very fair skin. When the sun is up, the only SPF that keeps it safe is the LaRoche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50+ for combination/oily skins. This one is really great for oilier sensitive skins like mine.
I”m using a Japanese brand Orbis, UV Cut Sunscreen On Face Light SPF 34 PA++, it’s tinted and watery and does not leave me sticky
I really like Neutrogena pure&free baby SPF 60. I have super sensitive skin and sunscreens usually burn my eyes and face and this doesnt.
i use cancer council australia ultra sunscreen as i trust the foundation’s research work. it’s been great!
For my face I use L’Oreal Faces for my face and pretty much anything else for body as long as it has a high SPF, 30 +.
Umm, I use a lot of different stuff. I am currently using Cosme Decorte’s the white-science white protection SPF 27 (it acts as a makeup base, sunscreen and a whitening serum), which is very light and has no tendency to irritate my sensitive skin. I also use Guerlain’s makeup perfect white UV shield SPF 30, which has this light pink-peachy sheen and tiny little pearls. …and I have a brand new Chanel blanc essentiel that I must try soon.
I use Avene’s Emulsion SPF50++ for my face, I have oily skin and it’s really good, plus it has PPD 20 !!
If I’m not wearing foundation, I wear Purpose Redness Reducing Moisterizer SPF30 but with foundation, I just started using MAC Prep & Prime SPF50. I really like it: my foundation goes on more smoothly and lasts longer and I get sunscreen.
I was gonna add: for days at the lake or the beach when I need lots of sunscreen, I use Neutrogena Drytouch Sunscreen SFP 70 on my face and Hawaiian Tropic Ozone Sport SPF 60+ on my body. The HT stuff is amazing, it’ll last all day, even on my albino skin.
I am always switching around my moisturizer, but whatever i use tends to have at least SPF 15 in it. I also use Revlon Colorstay Foundation which has SPF 6 in addition to my moisturizer.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 30+ for combination/oily skins
La ROCHE-Posay is AMAZING
shiseido anessa mild sunscreen spf 43 pa +++
my day moisturizer clinique’s superdefense also has spf 25 pa +++
and foundation has spf 30 pa ++
I am currently using Dior Hydraction Protective Cream w/ SPF 15 and also MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation which also has SPF 15
I normally use a moisturizer with SPF 15 and an SPF 30 when I’m spending more than 10 minutes outside on a clear summer day…I’m fair, but I never get sunburn, probably because I don’t expose myself to the sun?! And after all we’re in Central Europe here, so I’m not sure whether I need sunscreen above SPF 30. Still, the fact that so many people here use such high sunscreen has made me a bit insecure.
shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 PA+++ . super light and gives me an airbrushed look w/ mineral foundation. I definitely recommend it. Used to use La Roche-Posay and loved it as well (the one I used is not sold in the US).
I use Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch sunblock SPF 45.
Diorsnow Sublissime Ultimate Whitening UV Base SPF 50. Only available in Asia. Wish I grabbed a couple!
Hey!!!! It is not only avaliable in asia!!!! I’m from Ecuador (latin america) and i use the same SPF!! The authorized distributor in here is Alvarez BArba, maybe u can contact them and purchase a couple!!!
Thanks Gabby, but I am in Australia though 🙂 I might take a trip to Japan next year and grab a couple on board. JAL had a great deal lol
I use PizBuin spf 15, the Allergy one!
I love the smell of sunscreen <3
I use the Banana Boat Children SPF 50.
I use Stila tinted moisturizer with SPF 30 on the face and CVS SPF 70 on the rest of me
I’m allergic to most chemical sunscreen ingredients, especially octinoxate, so that cuts out most sunscreens for me.
I’ve been using DDF Enhancing Sun Protection SPF30 for ~2 years now and I love it. It’s not greasy, makes an excellent makeup base, has a little bit of color to smooth out imperfections and it doesn’t smell or clog my pores. 😀
On my body I use CVS’s Sensitive Skin SPF30, which is pretty light in texture and absorbs well. The SPF70+ works INCREDIBLY well (like I sunbathed for ~2hrs and didn’t even get bikini tan lines), but that stuff is a giant streaky, greasy, drying, pasty mess.
i use Neutrogena Healthy Defense daily moisturizer with spf 45 in the summer and spring
for winter and fall i use one with spf 30
I have a body lotion by Vaseline with spf 15, but if im going to be out in the sun all day i use a sun block with spf 70
ha thats a lot of spf
I use Chanel’s UV Essential SPF 30+. I love it cause it doesn’r make me breakout and it’s zinc oxide based. Also it doesn’t make me look white.
everything has broken me out – i’m not spending $$$ on it – i’m just a drug store SPF kinda girl…but everything has broken me out. can acne-prone gals recc a good moisturizer with SPF at the drug stores that doesn’t break them out/make them greasy?
i was told the Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 45 is a good choice for people who break out.
4 face i use Diorsnow sublimissime UV 50 and 4 the body DiorBronze SPF 30
Vichy’s capital soleil, spf 50+ =)
Neutrogena Dry-Touch Sunblock in either 55 or 70 (depending how sunny it is — I’m in LA). Not greasy, doesn’t clog pores or feel like it’s suffocating your skin, no white film. It was recommended by my dermatologist. Use it on both my face and body, haven’t had any problems with it. And it’s waterproof!
Aveeno Continuous Protections sunblock lotion with SPF 30. Its non-greasy, oil free, and water resistant. It works great for me even though its extremely rare I sunburn (I have dark skin), I still wear it everyday.
iv been lately using an spf 30 sunscreen(the kind you get at water parks) for when im in the pool for a long time
but when im just gunna be out in the sun for anytime i use an spf 18 texture/moisturizer that i got at Sephora
Have you heard of Michelle Phan’s iqqu sunscreen? It has SPF 35 and it can go over or under makeup.
neutrogena spf 90+
aveeno spf70 for face … i’m a little paranoid
I use Neutrogena w/helioplex spf 75
neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch sunblock spf50!!
Would anyone have a recommendation for acne prone, combination skin? I dont burn easily but I tend to suffer from skin so something light that can be applied under makeup with no shine is a must. please help. i no longer want to rely on the SPF in my foundation alone as i am nearing the 30 mark… yikes. email back to org_misstrendy@hotmail.com with suggestions. I live in Canada so preferably brands i can purchase in north america drug store or mid range. I might try macs prep n prime SPF 50. I would prefer something with no fragrance. THANKS!!!
I like Renee Rouleau’s SPF30 – lightweight, not thick, and dries quickly.
