Natural for day, smokey eye with a nude lip for evening and varying degrees of this for other occasions. I don’t do brights (except on my nails). I try to find a happy medium for what works with my outfit, the occasion and my natural colouring. I use make up to enhance my look rather than make a statement or making the makeup itself a statement.

On others, I appreciate much more variety as I think people pull off different things, depending on their personal style, age and colouring. Too much make up doesn’t look good on anyone though.

I really love Rockabilly/1940s and 50s styles in general. Because of this, I really love neutral eyes, winged eyeliner and bold red lips (and a flower in the hair).

i like natural/subtle for everyday. for going out i like smokey eyes, and retro glam looks depending on the occasion. i dont really have a preference for others. whatever matches their individual style, i guess.

For the week I like a matte natural eye. Sort of like the pinup eye with a creame shadow, brown in the crease,a perfectly lined lid, flawless skin and glossy lips. On the weekend I like to play with shimmer and false lashes, just experiement!
My favorite makeup up style would have to be anything that accentuates the skin, makes you glow and appear flawless.

I have two looks that I adore – a smokey eye with a nude lip. Second, would be a pin-up/40s glam kinda look – pale/white’ish shadow very light color on lid, black top liner, tons of mascara/fake lashes, pale skin and a very red lip.

my favorite look is anything i’m feeling at the moment in all honesty….from only eye liner to neutrals to bolds to smokey…they’re all my favourites

I have two that are my favs. I am totally into tons of dark eyeliner (black, grey, green, purple or whatever) and a smokey eyeshadow with lighter lip. I really love the “Joan Jett” rocker thing (hence the massive eyeliner). I also love Rockabilly because I love a black liquid liner and serious red lip!

I love colours and shimmer generally, especially for the eyes. As I have very dark brown eyes and light skin, I find that most colours look good on me. (Or I think so anyway, lol.) In my mind there’s not much point in putting makeup on if you look like you don’t have any on, if you see what I mean. 😉 So I don’t really do matte nude e/s and/or nude lips.

I’m the same way (minus the light skin, although I’m by no means dark). Most colors work for me, and I love doing bright colors (without looking like a clown)…but I don’t mind doing a more “natural” look every once in a while. Or I do neutral colors with a twist 🙂

I’ve started really liking neutral-ish eyes with bright lipstick, too!

I concur with you Anitacska. I believe one can wear colorful makeup without looking clownish. What’s the point of spending 30-60 minutes of your time on your face and hair if you’re gonna end up looking like you didn’t (JMO). I like ALL KINDS of looks and colors but if I do a bright eye, I do a more subtle lip, and vice-versa, most of the time anyway.

Right now I am loving mascara, lots of blush and a neutral pink glossy lip…giving you that just outside in the cold flush…I love a rosy cheek!

And also I am getting into bold lips, I just bought Girl about Town and Coral Polyp. I like that its not a typical bold red lip (but I love those too!).

I’m lucky that I have a job where I can wear pretty much whatever I want! I usually stick to smokey eyes or gold/bronze/brown looks, but I really love tons of color!

I’m also very minimal when it comes to lips, most days just a lip balm or lightly-colored gloss. When I do use lip colors, I usually stick to pinks/mauves.

You ARE lucky!!! I got a couple passive-aggressive comments (from the same two people) so I’ve stuck to neutrals for a while. Just this week I’ve ventured with green and some other near-neutrals. Blue eyeshadows, I’m coming for you!!!

glowy skin, natural face and eyes, with some liner and red bold lips. but for every day i usually go pretty natural, the boldest is usually the lips, which sometimes are not bold at all, lol. I prefer a dewy complexion on myself b/c i feel like my dry skin is emphasized by it, but for those with other skin types matte is just fine. i don’t really like makeup that uses color all over, but that photo i forget the brand i want to say it’s givency that you posted, with the pink middle of the lip and red outer and the pink in the crease of her hair and gold glitter along the brows, i ADORE that picture. i wouldn’t ever try to pull it off though, lol.

I’m a bit of a nutball. I almost always do really bold makeup, except on days where I don’t feel well or on the rare occasion I don’t feel like doing much makeup. I tend to wear dark eyeshadows like black or dark blue. I also love neon colors. I really only use makeup for fun, rather than ‘enhancing’.

On others, it depends. I tend to notice bold colors because that is what I am into. I really only notice others makeup if it is bold, or if it is either applied really well or really poorly.

I am pretty much never a “natural” girl….I stick to either smokey eyes and nude lips or nude eyes with MAC Cyber lips. Neutral colors just do not look good on me… with them, I look dead. 😀

For everyday, I like a very subtle smokey eye with a nice neutral-ish shadow like EDM In the Garden or MAC Satin Taupe (new fav!), natural cheeks and stained lips (light MAC cremesheen application). For parties or formal events, I like to do a more dramatic smokey eye + nude or sheer red lips, and for concerts, I like to go “all out” with winged liner and shimmery green/bronze shadow.

Ceci Avatar

For everyday, i like a natural look for school. However weekends and holiday, i like to go for a brown or gray smokey eyes and match it with a peachy-nude lips. I pretty much stay within my comfort zone as far as eyeshadow go, though i bought quite a number of colourful eyeshadow:P

Inspiration is ever-changing and evolving for me. I try not to limit myself in terms of color, style or technique but embrace many forms so I can grow my talent as an artist.

That being said, I adore 40’s pin-up style looks, 60’s-esque Twiggy, and 80’s Siouxsee Sioux dramatic eyes.
