I like classy/elegant packaging overall that’s still functional.

Logical/Functional/Minimalist/Cute… packaging doesn’t matter as much if the product is awesome, but sometimes when the packaging is adorably cute, I might buy it anyway (oops!)

Shu Uemura’s Tsumori Chisato collection is really cute but so expensive! I’m on the fence about that one.

Totally unrelated, but will you be doing your Temptalia annual awards this year?

I like elegant packaging as well. But what’s most important for me is durability and function. Some lipglosses, compacts, jars and bottles have broke because they were flimsy and/or were not durable :c

I like nice black packaging- sleek and classy, also anything cute (as in the MAC Hello Kitty collection). Honestly though, I care more about the quality of the product then the packaging.Nice Packaging is bonus, but what will it do for me makeup wise? just sit and look pretty? I’d rather have something that will benefit my makeup routine.

I like to be able to see my eyeshadows and blushes. The clear top on Mac is perfect. I don’t like different products mixed together, I hate palettes that mix eyeshadow with blush or lip gloss.
I like how my 2 faced eyeshadow primer is squeeze tube rather than with a wand applicator. Sqeeze tubes are always easier to get the most product out.

For my skin care, I don’t like jar packaging. I feel like it is just given more change for free radicals to damage it and I don’t like having to stick my fingers in it. It should pump out or squeeze out. I guess I am squeeze obsessed!!

I like attractive packaging, but of course what matters is what’s inside. I really like MAC’s matte packaging, and I like the fact that fingerprints don’t show up on any of their containers!

I’m not too picky. I prefer something that is compact and functional. (ie. can’t be a huge container compared to the size of the product.) Elegant packaging is a bonus, but product quality is more important.

Functionality is essential. If I tear a nail trying to open an eyeshadow palette I might not buy that brand again. But I can’t really decide which style I like best. Sleek black is lovely, but there’s something weirdly appealing about overdecorated packaging, too.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be super attractive or fancy. I appreciate pretty packaging, but it’s much more important to me that it be practical – functional, durable, overall good quality.

Also, I like it to be as sanitary as possible. I won’t refuse to buy a foundation based on the packaging, but I do prefer squeezable tubes or bottles with pumps. Same with skincare, etc.

I always love packaging that’s really over designed and fancy (or just plain ol’ crazy), just because it makes re-applying in public so much more fun. I like my makeup packaging to be a conversation piece. (Like Limecrime’s lipstick package. I love anything with a sparkly silver unicorn on it.)

But usually, I’m just happy if the package doesn’t break and doesn’t look cheap. Its also a huge plus if it doesn’t show fingerprints.

I do a lot of freelance work so it’s absolutely essential that the products are easy for me to carry around. No breaking, no spilling, no leaking, etc. The other this is that I really hate it when packaging is so complex that I cannot get the product open. 🙁

le sigh… really? am i the only one that’s going to say it? lol. RECYCLABLE or REUSABLE.

if a package is made of something that i can’t recycle (or give back to the manufacturer: back 2 mac) that will knock SERIOUS points off.

if a product comes in a package that is actually re-usable, then as long as it’s something i want, i’m all over it.

cute or funky packaging is neat to look at, but it usually won’t sway my decision much – if at all.

Easy to use. As long as it’s not going to take me 5+ minutes to get the packaging open, then I don’t really care what it looks like. It can be ugly as hell, as long as the product itself is good and the packaging is easy to use I’m fine with it.
It also has to be effective for the product. So, if the packaging just doesn’t seem to be useful for what the product inside is, then I will likely not buy it.

I really hate lip colors that come in the same packaging as eyeshadows. I just don’t buy them even if I like the colors. I don’t like colorful packaging unless there is a theme going on which doesn’t look cheap like MAC Dame Edna collection for example. I also think that UDPP and Too Faced packaging is tacky so I never buy their products even if I really like and want the colors. I also think that Laura Mercier and Tarte has boring packaging so I really don’t buy their stuff either. I’m into packaging as well as the quality of the product that comes in it, but that’s just me.

In permanent products like for example Mac eyeshadow in “all that glitters”, I don’t care that its a basic black packaging because its a permanent and the Mac is inexpensive. However if its a holiday set or a new collection I do expect prettier packaging from Mac. The only time I expect really pretty packaging is from lines like Ysl, Chanel, and Estee Lauder and etc, because those brands cost more so its nice to have really pretty packaging to have as part of my collection.
