We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! same for me…i have dark skin and i need good pigment and low talc. otherwise it just looks ashy and nothing like the color in the container.

i’m agreeing with everyone here! pigmentation and texture is the most important thing. i don’t really give a hoot about the packaging of the product, if it’s nice – it’s a bonus. but if the product is absolutely useless then what’s the point of buying it in the first place, right? 🙂

Sometimes I find colors are nicely pigmented when swatched with my fingers but don’t hold pigment as well when I am working with a brush. So holds pigment with a brush… is paletted or can be paletted… and long wearing (but not staining).

i have 2 say that my eyeshadows have 2 be 1) pigmented – no matter if its a dark of a light color 2)soft in texture when applying 3) easy to blend 4) not contaning 2 much glitter(i hate fall outs!!!)

depends- when i put my brush in it a swirl, let’s say, shadow shouldn’t go everywhere (for a pressed shadow, of course). i hardly own any loose pigments, so i can’t speak for that, but the ones i do own i own for the dramatic pigmentation and staying power. if it is matte, it has to glidddddde on, which i do not find with all mac mattes. i actually love my lustre eyeshadow swimming because the way it blends out in my crease creates a gorgeous yellow-green effect. So the eyeshaodw has to be unique 🙂

good pigmentation
hardly any fallout
sheen rather than glitter, shimmer or frost
or soft mattes
(I love MAC Grain e/s) – It’s easy to pick up, has good pigmentation, is relatively soft and easy to blend, gives a nice sheen)
I hate shadows that are too soft – I have accidentally ruined like 4 smashbox e/s because if you drop it – the powder shatters.
I hate screw off lids.
I love pan form options.
I hate hate hate Kitten e/s from Stila – too frosty, yuck. glitter ball on my eyes.
I hate glitter/frost/shimmer fallout.

Good pigmentation and blendability – however if the shadow is meant to be a sheer colour then sheerness is ok. I also like shadows with a sheen.

Good pigmentation and blendability too. No chalkiness. Now I have all the basic shades, I like to look for shadows that have funky, interesting duochromes.

Pigmentation, blendability, not too frosty, not too crease or fade-prone. I’m not so big on creaseproof, longwearing shadows, because I can buy a less expensive shadow that doesn’t wear well and fix that with a base like UDPP or MAC Paint! 🙂

Pigmentation, easily blendable, and something that doesn’t flake off. I don’t own anything pigmented, or mineral, because I cannot stand it falling all over the place.

first pigmentation, then the texture, i hate e/s with glitter! bleh i like shimmer and frost but not glitter cuz it just goes everywhere! i dont care about staining muahaha! 🙂

I look for pigmentation-of course-size of the pan it’s in, and texture. I like to go for more velvet or satin textures. I’m not a glitter girl.

Pigmentation depending on the look I expect and a nice finish/texture. I love textures like MACs Veluxe Pearl or Matte², on the other side I dont really like Lustres.

pigment and texture – i’m a working mom so the last thing i want to do is build 3 layers of color to get it to look on my lids like it looks in the pan then blend for hours on end!

right now i am hearting UD shadows and my Nars Modern Love palette
i’m on a MAC timeout!
