I use Bobbi Brown buffing grains on my face. I absolutely love them! They’re not harsh, yet you can tell that they really do the job. My only complaint is that sometimes I pour too much out of the bottle.
I currently use Modern Friction from Origins. I LOVE Origins and is a faithful consumer of their products… hahaha and I really love Modern Friction. It works well on my combination skin, not too coarse but coarse enough to get rid of my dry, dead skin (especially since winter is well on it’s way!) It leaves me feeling very fresh, and creates a great combo effect with the Drink Up mask (again from Origins).
The only thing is that… Modern Friction might not be right for everyone’s skin… typical for most products of course. Although right now there is nothing much I can complain about it!
For my face I’m using olay Definity facial scrub. It definitely softened my skin. On my body as use any sugar scrub…never salt, because I like to exfoliate after shaving and salt will find any and every cut.
St. Ives Apricot Scrub for Acne/Combination Prone skin
I use Dr. Brant’s Microdermabrasion in a jar once a week, Mac’s Ash Exfoliator once a week and the Clarisonic brush the rest of the week.
Cosmedicine’s Meda-Morphosis exfoliater – normally $45, but got for $9 during the BLISS sale!
Aveda Exfoliant (a liquid exfoliant, helps go in and clear out pores), Aveda Tourmaline Charged professional products (Botanical Skin Resurfacing), Lush Angels on Bare skin, Lush Ocean Salt and Philosophy’s microdermabrasion peel kit.
I use St-Ives Apricot Face Scrub for sensitive skin for my face and The Body Shop scrub in Brazil Nut for my body. These two are my HG’s and I def recommend both.
I am currently using resurface-c microdermabrasion by lancome. I love it!
Oh, and St. Ives Apricot Scrub is terrible for your skin.. The particles that are used to exfoliate are super jagged and can actually cause scarring.
and they contain lanolin- highly comedonegic(causes acne)
i use pevonia’s enzyme peeling cream. it’s my absolute favorite, and it has natural enzymes (pineapple, papaya) that aren’t harsh on the skin. i love it!
I’ve used it all but my all time favorites are,
Face: a tsp of sugar added to my face wash 2-3 times a week Body: 1/2 cup sugar or salt mixed with massage oil to make a paste, rubbed on dry skin in shower and rinsed away, then I scrub the bathtub since it gets a little oily
I use the same thing, sugar. I mix lemon juice & sugar, sometimes I add a bit of honey. It leaves my skin so smooth. 🙂
Dermalogica’s Skin Prep Scrub..
It’s so gentle but so effective, love the stuff! It smells gorgeous too! =] x
I use the MAC Microfine Refinisher… although I usually have to use a face wash afterward to make sure the granules wash off, I can feel it actually exfoliating. I also use the Origins with the greenish-blue gel, I forget the name right now.
I use Proactiv everyday, which is a scrub, but when I need something more I use Mary Kay’s TimeWise Microdermabrasion, LUSH’s Ocean Salt, and very occasionally St. Ives Apricot Scrub (its been sitting in my shower for a while). For my body I love LUSH’s Buffy Bar! Its a solid body butter and exfoliator in one! Their new Rub Rub Rub is awesome too.
For my face I just use a microdermabrasion cloth from the Best Bath Store. But I just ordered Philosophy’s microdelivery exfoliating wash. I’m really excited for it to get here!
Philosophy’s microdelivery exfoliating wash! It’s a god send:) Gentle enough to use daily, but effective. My skin feels like I just left the spa:)
I use Dr. Brandt’s microdermabrasion once every two weeks, and every other day, I use Astara’s Daily Refining Scrub. I had been over-exfoliating, and my skin’s oiliness went over the top!! I thought it was that my moisturizer wasn’t working, but after talking to a skincare consultant at Sephora, and going through my regimen, they suggested that I slow on the exfoliation. They were absolutely right, and I love this mix!
baking soda
I use the Volcanic Ash By MAC and it works great. my skin feels so soft after i use it and i definiely recommend it when they decide to relaunch it. I also use St. Ives products(Firm and Renew which had Glycolic acid and the blackhead control one)and these work good for me. I recommend these too if you have oily, blackhead prone skin.
Face: Philosophy Never Let Them See You Shine Oil-Controlling Scrub.
Body: Philosophy Coconut Frosting Body Scrub.
I love my Philosophy products. =]
dermalogica microfoliant.
I use Clinique’s exfoliating scrub once a week and clarifying lotion #3 everyday (a toner-exfoliator). I also use Philosophy’s microdermabrasion kit a few times a month. This is may favorite facial treatment ever! My skin is soo smooth after using that and it glows! I am currently awaiting my clarisonic skincare brush in the mail from sephora so pretty soon I’ll be doing that! I can’t wait!
I recently started using Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash. HEAVEN!
I actually use sugar and water. It’s not too rough, just the right consistency for me 🙂
Actually just 2 aspirin dissolved in a few drops of water… it’s a great gentle exfoliator and the salicylic acid makes your face sooo smooth. Not to mention it costs about um… 2 cents per use, especially if you get the walgreens brand big bottle of aspirin for 2 bucks.
