my hair is thin, but lot’s of it, curly, dry and has already taken a beating! mostly because of colouring and straightening! but i do make an effort to use heat protectors!

Nathalie Avatar

Brunette, middle back length. Not dyed. Not super straight, not curly either, just supple. Thin, silky, shiny, smooth and healthy with a tendency to flatness due to they being not thick and to the fact I have few hair. Sometimes dryness on the tips but it depends the days and the shampoo. I’m fine with my hair, I like them.

kirsty Avatar

Thick and wavy. The ends are frazzled from bleach damage but that’s slowly growing out and getting hacked off.

Don’t know how I’m going to get my hair such a vibrant red without bleach 🙁

MichelleB Avatar

I have dark brown, collar bone length, fine hair. It is baby fine — ahhh, it drives me crazy!! I do have to colour my hair to keep random gray hairs at bay.

Sam Avatar

i have dark to medium brown hair
relitivly straight
its a little longer than my shoulders
and……. IT EXTREMELY THICK
ANYONE I HAVE EVER MET HAS SAID SOMETHING LIKE OMG YOUR HAIRS AMAZING IVE NEVER SEEN THICKER HAIR
it doesnt look poofy or frzzy just very lucious and thick

Thick & wavy, somewhat coarse since my thyroid surgery/issue. I haven’t started coloring it yet, keeping it my med strawberry blonde shade.

Hoping to be able to wait until my late 40s, since I have no idea what dye/shades would go w/my ppp/cool skin. I think it will be hard to duplicate my natural color and have no idea if my hair will be hard to take a shade!

Keeping it around shoulder length so I don’t have to indulge in too many h/c appts per yr. Used to keep it shorter since it takes hours to air dry.

I have a thick head of copper-fire red, medium-size corkscrew curls (think Irish dancers!) that goes past my elbows. I always keep it in a side part with some of it in my face like sidebangs, and I’m planning on getting some real side bangs up in the mix. Without my Garnier products (deep conditioner, shampoo, conditioner, leave-in hair conditioner) I have a head full of frizz, but I have almost no frizz and my curls are perfectly defined with it in. I used to hate my hair and get embarassed whenever old ladies would complement me on it, but now I love it and wish the boys would catch on 😉 Unfortunately, the style in middle school is to fit in as much as possible. I don’t want to ever fit in – I don’t think I ever will, I’m the only girl with red hair this bright who keeps it curly, too – but the guys only take a liking to common girls with tons of makeup.

Bright red. Thick and wavy. Almost waist length. Layered. Never colored. I always wear it down with a side part. Gorgeous!

Whitney Avatar

A little below my chin in length, strawberry blonde, very thick and course (sometimes very poufy), a natural wave, shiny when i straiten it. Never been colored and i have bangs too.

Faith Avatar

Waist-length, thick, red, wavy, frizzy mop. It’s only gotten worse as of late. I know that’s partially due to the atrocious weather we’ve been having in Boston, but I think I also may need to change up my shampoo…

Kella Avatar

I have curly dirty blonde hair down to the small of my back, with the shortest layers falling at my chin. It’s very fine, but I have a tooon of it (called high-density hair). It’s curl type 3b with some straighter areas thrown in. I love it. And so do other ppl lol I used to hate the compliments when I was younger..

SarahT Avatar

shoulder length brown hair. you can see some red in it in the light, especially in the summer. it has a mind of its own – can’t decide if it wants to be straight or kinda wavy. every day its different if I let it air dry. it can be frizzy, but mostly it seems healthy. I have to be careful products don’t make it greasy, either, because then it loses all its volume ;S

Sara Avatar

Darkest shade of dark brown, with natural dark brown highlights. Frizzy at the back, poofy at the front and loose medium sized curls that flatten down. Untammed hair that is sensitive to wind and heat. Thick and course. just below shoulder and side fringe.

I usually tie my hair into a meesy bun, with plaits although I straigten it when I wear it down.

My hair is naturally red/strawberry blonde, longish, pretty thick, layered, due for a trim but healthy (I don’t style it much). My scalp is very oily, so I have to wash and condition it daily. The hair on the upper half of my head is wavy (a little curly, even) and a little coarse, while the hair underneath is very straight and fine (and, oddly, blonder).

Neela Avatar

Extremely thin and fine. Oily, but not as much as it used to be. Damage from dyeing, bleaching, heat, using styling products actually makes it look a little better and thicker. I keep it short, messy and dyed.

Rio Avatar

Tough, but dry. I’ve put it though many beatings, but it stays at about the same healthiness. I usually keep it short, and it is VERY thick. When it gets long, it gets very easily snarled, which made my childhood hair combings quite unpleasant!

elle Avatar

Currently: medium thickness, shoulder length, half natural dark brown/half reddish brown.

I plan on growing my hair out because I am so sick of short hair and I need to get it thinned out, I hate my thick hair!!

Lauren Avatar

My hair is very thick, long(ish. It goes til about mid-back), dirty blond, and undamaged. Luckily, my hair looks really nice naturally and straightening it makes it look strange, so I don’t use heat. Also, I dont dye my hair because I already naturally have a lot of blond, which is what I like. Since I don’t damage it, I rarely get any split ends so my hair grows fast. My hair does, however, get oily so I shampoo and condition everyday (no conditioning on the top of my head because they causes for oil).

Amber Avatar

I am a brunette with long, thick hair. My hair can take a long of wear and tear. I straighten it almost everyday and it still remains lustrous and undamaged. I really hate my thick hair, but I find that people with thin hair want thick hair and vice versa.

Growing natural (not chemically relaxed) hair for a year now…I cut it all off and here is what I have…
Describe my hair as… layered, Thick, Kinky Curly, and Coiled, non-Dyed, Shrinks from 100% to 30%, neck length when dry and almost at armpit length when wet. My hair type is 4a

This is the healthiest my hair has been, because it’s not process.

To keep it tamed. I was w/ shampoo once a month, deep conditioner once a week and wash w/ conditioner (herbal essences *hydralicious or totally twisted)) almost daily and add a leave-in (deva curl one conditioner) seal my ends w/ coconut oil.

Rosie Avatar

I’m completely natural as well (4a/b)and I’ve been natural for 3 years. I have extremely thick kinky/ coily black hair and I love it!!

Tasha Avatar

::sigh::

i’m not certain bc i have been damaging my hair with a chemical relaxer for years. currently, its at collar bone length very dark brown, almost black. hangs straight, ends can get frazzled after about 12 wks. my new growth comes in wavy all over except in the center where it comes in little corky-like curls. scared to cut it all off and just let my hair be and see what happens. don’t want to continue to process it…..<>

Tattoo Girl Avatar

It is long, to the bottom of my back, almost to my waist. Layered, no bangs. Thin and fine and very soft (surprisingly). Black underneath and stop sign red on the top!!

Nicole15 Avatar

Burgundy plum red color (dyed of course)! Boy short pixie cut. Think old school Halle Berry when she had her super short hair. That’s how you can picture mine I guess. Super easy to style – throw in some texturizing paste & I’m out the door. I love it!!!

Amanda Avatar

Light brown, just below shoulder blades. Very, very, VERY thick. Naturally curly/wavy but I straighten and blowdry because otherwise it just looks crazy frizzy. I really struggle with trying to make it look sleek. I so envy people with naturally straight hair. They never have to worry about frizz even if they curl their hair.

Tattoo Girl Avatar

That’s funny!! I hear that from just about everyone with curly hair. My hair is so fine that I can’t get it to hold a curl even with gel, hairspray or whatever else!

Angela Avatar

Short, auburn, pixie that is growing out quickly. My texture is very course, but I relax it every 6 weeks to straighten it.

Melissa Avatar

shoulder length- dark brown with golden WAY GROWN OUT high lights- waiting to chop it off. {some people say it looks natural though..hmm weird.} & Side Swept Bangs. THICK- Healthy.

jess Avatar

Almost waist length, very dark brown, long layers, super-thick, coarse mostly straight, never professionally dyed (although in high school, I temporarily dyed it from time to time) and not currently colored or treated.

Kinki, nappy, natural. I decided 10 years ago I was going to subject myself to chemical straighteners anymore. They were damaging my hair and the upkeep was expensive and time consuming. I did what’s called the big chop. I had about 1-2 inches of new growth and I went to a barber and told him to cut off off the permed hair. (I later went to a female salon to have them shape it to look a bit more feminine) Since then, I’ve played with wearing it curly by adding a bit of gel, 2 strand twist, afro puffs and the occasional blow out. In February I took the next big leap and started loc’ing my hair. My only concession is that I now color my hair because I don’t like the gray hairs. But I am proud of finally embracing my hairs natural texture.

long, black to dark brown, shiny, soft, luxurious, slightly wavy, bouncy, very sexy hair !!!

I get compliments by men all the time and i do very little to my hair. I probably wash it once a month

Hanna Avatar

Superfine Scandinavian blonde hair. It’s fine but I have a lot of it and it’s super steight and long. I actually really like my hair and i get a lot of complements on it.

Courtney Avatar

Shoulder-length, slightly wavy, very thin, dyed a brighter/less-mousy shade of my natural medium blonde.

It needs to be cut, and I’ll probably dye it reddish again soon.

Frances Avatar

Waist-length, very very thick, straight, jet black, quite silky because it’s been Japanese-straightened, very soft and fine. Love it!

niknik Avatar

long (down to middle of my back) with really short layers around the crown for volume
i wear it pin straight or curly, and it’s jet black

Lo Avatar

My actual hairs are very fine, but i have lots of hair so it actually looks pretty thick and healthy. good condition, I avoid styling and blowdrying where possible, and rarely use hair products like mousse/spray. Midlength and straigt ish, soft layers cut in so its easy to maintain without too much styling.

Sarah Avatar

Fine-to-medium individual strands, but lots of them so my hair as a whole is pretty thick! Slightly straighter side of wavy. NATURALLY EXTREMELY OILY. Even when I was little and didn’t even hit puberty yet (I’m almost 15 now), my hair needed to be washed more frequently than anyone else I knew. I’ve never had huge problems with damaged hair, but of course I get split ends without fairly regular trimming and conditioning to maintain my hair’s health. I also dye and/or highlight my hair at a salon.

Ceci Avatar

Straight, pixie-length hair(finally got it cut short, yay!) with medium to textured individual strands with some fine ones mixed in. I have lots of hair overall so it’s very thick. It takes a long time to cut my hair, even if it’s a minor job. Never had a professional dye job done (I did do an at-home glaze job a couple of years ago, but that’s grown out by now, I would imagine).

Maheen Avatar

below my chest
