I got through phases where I get it cut and dyed a lot. Normally, I get it cut and then let it grow out for 6 months or so and then get it cut again. I got it cut in October, and I’m going to get it cut again at the end of March I think – I like it long, but everyone else seems to like it short. Right now it’s a money thing, I can’t afford a good cut, so I’ll wait. (too much information I’m sure)

I typically keep the same cut. I like my hair long because i have naturally curly hair, and it looks best long in my opinion. Butsince i straighten it a few times a week, i will get it cut, and it will be too short, and i hate it and try to grow it. its like a cycle! lol. So i have vowed to only get it trimmed and let it grow!!!!

And i always cut my bangs, btu since i have curly hair i always have to pull them back when i wear it natural so i get sick of them in liek 2 days lol.

but i am always dying it. darker, a bit lgihter, highlights, another cyle of mine lol.

I guess we all have a cycle. I let mine grow out to about a few minches below my shoulders, and then i’ll chop it all off, sometimes only above my shoulders, but last time i got a A-Line cut, and the back was so shirt they buzzed the bottom of it! XD It was cool at the time, then I hated myself a week later. I always do. I also color it WAY too often, and I do it myself. Right now I have purple hair, and I’m going to try to stick with it as best I can, cause my hair can’t take any more damage. But usually I can’t take one hair color no more than 3 months, at best

I have really thick hair and I like it long so I usually stick with the same style, with varying layers. The longer it is, the more it weighs it down, which helps keep it from frizzing out. Periodically I will get it relaxed (the Japanese hair straightening) so then it is permanently straight so no change in style.

whenever theres big change in my life. I once chopped off all my hair leaving it only long enough for a faux hawk because I left my boyfriend :p

HoneyBrown1976 Avatar

I pretty much keep the same hairstyle; however, I may change my part every now and then. I do color my hair with highlights and/or a rinse.

I keep things about a year. That’s how long I had bangs, but now I’m growning them out. Sometimes my hair is curly, but usually it’s just straight with a lil curve in the ends.

Rio Avatar

I change it all the time. Too often, really. I decided to chop it all off into a faux hawk awhile ago, and I am having a rough time growing it out. I have no patience!

Tahnee Avatar

I change the color more often then the style. Ive had the same hairdresser for years!!!But my head is in her hands, I sit down and she just does her buisness…and its always fabulous. Sometimes she changes the cut, but I always end up with wicked color combos!

I don’t change it that much in terms of length. My stylist is all abt healthy hair so that’s my main focus. I usually go back an forth between flat ironed and rollerset hair styles. I think I’m going to get a rodset soon though. My hair is thick and med-long in length and I was thinking I don’t have the patience for all those little rod rollers, but I’m going to give it a try.

I used to change my hair every few weeks, I went from black to pure-platinum blonde for about a year, and added new colors in every few weeks (which actually didn’t take a toll on my hair since it seems to be rediculously strong), and as of now I keep it medium-short (a little past my chin) because it’s insanely thick. I have to get it thinned out every two weeks, otherwise it doesn’t fit in my hairnet at work.

I usually keep it long for a couple years, then get extremely bored with it, cut it really short, then bemoan the fact that I can’t tie it up anymore and tell myself not to cut it so short ever again. Then the cycle repeats xD As for colour, I have a section of my hair that I like to change every so often (I hate dyeing my entire head because my roots grow out so fast). Right now it’s red, but I had been keeping it turquoise for the past few months. When my hair was long though, I’d put it up in different ways all the time, and curl it and stuff. …I miss my long hair. LOL

I had the same color hair for years (blonde with platinum hilites) but after a double diskectomy and a MRSA infection, the dye I used for years went all brassy on me (Doc said it was due to the huge amounts of meds in my body). I had the most awful brassy color so I dyed it brown and noticed how different I looked. Now I am letting my grey hair come thru (grey hairs popped up when I was 20!!). I just cut it myself into a short boy cut and got rid of all the dyed hair. It is now a salt and pepper color which has made me run around and buy up LOTS OF MAKEUP!! Big changes require big adjustments…so I am fumbling my way around my new makeup and also around having short hair. Hope to have it into a cool asymetric bob with platinum white highlights put in towards the face. Hope is the last thing we lose!

I’ve had every color and cut imaginable. My hair grows like weeds, so I’ve never had to stress about growing it out. Plus my dear mom was a hairstylist and she practiced on us, when we were of decent age of course. I don’t like little girls with chemically treated hair, they have the rest of their lives to damage their hair, keep it healthy for as long as possible!!!

AbbyL Avatar

I always set out on a mission to grow my hair out, I envision long wavy lustrous hair (kind of like your hair Christine, pre-cut!). But instead i get thin, limp, damaged hair. And I remind myself why I need to keep it on the shorter side!

Ally Avatar

I had short hair for a super long time so I grew it really long but I never thought it really looked good but I really liked having the feeling of long hair. I finally went for an a-line bob 3 weeks ago and i’m amazed i don’t need long hair to feel femine. I never dye my hair as i love my hair color it’s a reddish blonde and the a-line was a big change and probably will keep this for awhile and just maintain it. If I want something different i put semi perm weird color peak boo highlights and that keeps me happy.

i keep the same hairstyle most of the time ( i blow it out and my hair has a curl.. i get a great cut so it always looks great) sometimes, i will use the flat iron on it if im in the mood

Anna Avatar

I use to change it like every 3 months until I ended up with a pixie and realized I couldn’t cut it anymore xD. Recently I’ve been trying to grow it out so it’s been 6 months since I’ve been to the salon.

I try to avoid haircuts as often as possible, minus the occasional trim. When I was younger, my dad took me to the downtown rinky-dink barber, and the harstylist, though very sweet in that cute Southern way, cut my red curly hair the wrong way – she cut two more inches off than I’d have liked, AND she wasn’t paying attention to the scissors. The result was frizzy, too-short, too-big copper spirals that even flipped out and up on the ends because of the direction she chopped my locks in. I looked like I had a clown wig on! Now I only get it trimmed for health, and cut when its TOO long and unmanageable. I keep my style long, with a side part and long sidebangs.

When I feel that there is a significant change coming or if I’m looking to change something in my own life, I tend to change my hairstyle and my look in general. For example, in anticipation of a job change (and a break up), I cut off all my hair (which went down to my lower back) into a “lob” (like how Gwyneth Paltrow’s hair is now) at first. Then, soon after that (right before my break-up), I had it cut into a short bob like Katie Holmes was (without the bangs). I’ve kept it up as a bob since (now it’s a “lob” again because I’ve been cutting back on haircuts). That’ll change if there’s something else in my life that I’m moving on to.

I am a compulsive grow it out, cut it off kinda gal. I usually want something different every time I go in which is every 7-8 weeks. I change the color constantly as well. I have been every single shade of blond there is (with and without high and/or low lights), many shades of red and burgandy and one shocking dark chocolate brown a couple years back. I’m a Gemini so I get bored really easily, haha!

Rachel Avatar

My hair is pretty much always the same. Long with bangs. Once in a while I’ll change it bit ..like adding some brown underneath and layering but the style always looks the same no matter what.

Macaddict Avatar

Every 2-3 months! I also play a lot with colors/contrasts for my hair as well so I always have 2-3 different colors in my hair. Of course, it’s all done professionally and with world-reknowned products. I get bored easily of same looks. Sometimes, if I really “feel”/love a cut/color combo, I’ll have it done again twice in a row (as in last week for me), but, usually, I will do something different and go back to it maybe in 6 months or so.

I LOVE to switch up my hair styles. I change styles every 3 to 4 weeks. I love the versatility that weaves give, but they are SO expensive to have done, so I learned how to do them myself. I also like wigs for when I’m taking a break from weaving. I can change my hair style whenever and however I want to!

It’s funny because I’m in cosmetology school so mine changes a lot. I started brown, then went to 4 or 5 different colors of red, and now i’m violet/brown. I can’t cut it too much more, it keeps getting shorter. lol. I’m loving school, and changing my hair tho. It’s awesome!

Someone once gave me the nickname: Rainbow Bright’s Evil Twin

I normally go though colors faster than months can fly by adding color to tips, stips, playing with extensions, normally a new hair color a month but I’m trying to grow it out so recently I went all natural I don’t like it very much but I keep reminding myself only a few months then I’m going back to fun bright colors.

I cut it and then let it grow out and cut it again. I usually fluctuate between a above shoulders/below chin length and a below the breast length. Mostly laziness is the reason.
